We are a dog-friendly location. Off-leash is okay, as long as your dog responds reliably to recall commands and is friendly with children and small dogs. The owners have two small dogs who are occasionally off-leash. Looking to explore off-site? Ithaca: Cascadilla Meadow is located just 5 minutes from Cornell University and 10 minutes from all downtown Ithaca has to offer. Ithaca is well known for its many incredible restaurants, Farmers Market, local stores and art, theatre, wineries and breweries and of course, live music. Finger Lakes: In just 10-20 minutes from this location, you will find an abundance of waterfalls including Ithaca Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls. Cayuga Lake is great for Sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Lake swimming is available at Myers Park in Lansing or Taughannock State Park outside of Trumansburg. Jump off a diving board into the pool at the bottom of Lower Treman Falls or hike upper Treman to Lucifer Falls, possibly the most beautiful short hike you’ll ever find. I look forward to meeting you Learn more about this land: We have 10 forested hilly acres 12 miles from Ithaca. We’ve built a camp with a yurt with a foam floor that sleeps a family of 4. Bring sleeping bags and pads or you have an air mattress you can blow up inside the yurt that is fun. in the photo s you will also see a dry lean-to with a double bed platform inside to put your sleeping bags or air mattress or to put supplies off the ground to keep dry. Also lots of room for tents. The campfire has a grill to cook over a wood fire, 2 benches & Adirondack chairs, a hammock and a picnic table. There’s also a fun homemade swing & seesaw. There are many marked walking trails around our land to enjoy. There is access to well water. Dry cut Firewood is available for $7 a bundle at the property or you can add extras with booking for $7.70 per bundle.  Portable toilet outside & outdoor hot water shower. It is very quiet here. We are close to Treman, Buttermilk And Taughannock State Parks which all have swimming. Watkins Glen State Park and racetrack is half an hour away. 150 breathtakingly magnificent waterfalls in this area. Great hiking. We are 14 miles from Cornell University and 10 miles from Ithaca College. We are between two finger lakes, Cayuga and Seneca, there are 60 wineries and breweries around the lakes. Woman’s Rights National Museum in Seneca Falls, Corning Museum of Glass is fabulous. Ithaca has theatres, many museums & lots for kids to do. We are a working blueberry and flower farm near the town of Tunkhannock, in the Endless Mountains Region of Pennsylvania. We also have nature and some fun recreational opportunities both on property and close by. On our property we have an 18 hole disc golf course (more info can be found on Udisc or Facebook page "Campsite Disc Golf"). The course has all PDGA approved chain baskets with wood chip or grass tee boxes. We are constantly upgrading the course, it gets better every year! We have some beautiful places for walks (or easy hikes) including walking the course even if you don't play disc golf....it makes for some nice clear trails through the woods. There is a 2 1/2 acre pond where you are welcome to kayak, canoe or paddleboard. A 10 acre swamp, a small creek (that does often dry up in the summer....it's beautiful in the spring), and bountiful wildlife. Nearby are many more recreational opportunities. Within driving distances varying from 5 minutes to an hour (most things within 20 minutes) are a river, two creeks, several lakes (all with public boat access, some with swimming), hiking and biking trails, wineries, brewery, restaurants, a movie theater and shopping (grocery stores and the small downtown are less than 10 minutes). We can provide more information and directions for any activities you are interested in. Our private road which leads to the areas available for camping has only one resident who lives past (with access rights to use the road to get to his property) so it is secluded with no traffic. It can be very dark on moonless nights which is fantastic for stargazing. Intrepid winter campers will find the sky is most crisp clear and incredible in the winter....but the summer is still quite spectacular. Blueberry season is all of July and spilling into August (although winding down by then). During that time the Grassy corner site is more out of the way and quieter. The Most Convenient Woods is close but separate, no one except a passing disc golfer can easily look into your site. You will hear activity in the blueberry field during the day. Possibly including a noise maker that makes a periodic boom in the mornings to keep the birds from stealing all the berries (we are looking for quieter bird scaring options for the future). We try to keep that to a minimum especially if campers are present but can't promise silence. The noise maker is turned off as soon as customers are present so it is just a little while in the morning.

Learn more about this land: A step up from glamping, the "Shack" is a rustic, bohemian 2-story cabin/ art studio on a property that was formerly a train station. The property has 3 cottages on it and is situated across the street from Cayuga Lake in a secret wild garden, but is a 6 minute drive to downtown Ithaca Commons. This cottage is not for everyone. It is a cheap option in a cute, very bare bones cottage. It is best suited for low maintenance, easy travelers who are looking for an inexpensive place to crash after a long day of exploring. Guests who stay in the Shack share the bathroom in the main house with me - the bathroom has a separate entrance from the one I use in the main house. The cabin consists of 2 rooms - the upstairs has a double sized futon and a single futon mattress that can be used for guests, and the downstairs is a lounge/studio area. Note that the bedroom is accesses via a ladder type staircase. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but for the right fit it is the perfect home base to explore Ithaca's many spenders, ideally located across the street from Stewart Park and the trailhead to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail. and a short walk to the Stewart Park/downtown bus line and the East Shore swimming beach. Note, there is a cat who lives on the property and he sometimes comes to visit this studio. I see guests inviting him in occasionally to visit. If you're allergic, this isn't a good option for you.

Site is next to stream, bounded on opposite side by local road (so there is local traffic through the trees). There's a 30 amp electric hookup on site, but no sewer hookup. Water can be filled on property if needed. Location is just five minutes to Lower Treman Park or Buttermilk Park, with amazing hiking trails, seasonal stream fishing and swimming. Ten minute drive to Ithaca proper. No water after November 1st (hose can freeze)

Great place! Really well-maintained and clean, it's clear that Alicia takes a lot of pride in this property. Very close to the road, but very little traffic so it feels private. As someone who exclusively boondocks, having the 30 amp service was a real luxury! No joke about the lack of Verizon service though - make sure you pay for the Wi-Fi box unless you have T-Mobile or AT&T. Looking forward to coming back.

Weekend Trip to Round Top Retreat

I spent the weekend at Round Top Retreat alone to unplug, relax, and recharge and it was exactly what I needed. The wood burning stoves did an excellent job at heating the cabin. It got below 40° at night but it was probably 60° inside with the fire going. The stove is also great for cooking. It was a little rainy during my trip so I did all my cooking indoors. The driveway continues uphill past the cabin and turns into a hiking trail. I think it's supposed to connect to the Robinsons Hollow State Forest Trail but I couldn't find it (the official trial head is just down the road). It was still an invigorating 2 mile walk. I spotted lots of birds and a couple deer.

Camping at CSDG for the second time, and it was just as great as the first. We had the chance to play a round with Cathy, John, and Dave, and we had such a fun time that we played an additional 8 on the older course with the makeshift baskets—definitely awesome!! You can tell Cathy and John love what they do, and they radiate nothing but warmth and kindness. Communication was great, bathroom was clean, and the camp site was private and stocked with wood. Can’t wait to come back in the spring!

Weekend Trip to Sunset Shore Cabin on Private Lake

This was our second visit to the cabin, the first being in 2020. It is peaceful and cozy and our weekend was so relaxing. There is all sorts of wildlife in the area. We saw deer, bald eagles, turkey and chipmunks! A great weekend overall!
