Nestled in the foothills of the New York Catskills 150 miles Northwest of New York City is a place called Paradise Falls. It was named many years ago and as soon as you arrive you will see why the name was chosen. It has been in our family for almost 100 years. You can still see remnants of the gristmill that use to operate there. Many great memories have been made at the Falls and we now want to share our slice of paradise with you. The rolling creek, a feeder searching for it's mama - the Delaware River - runs down the mountainside and over the rocks to give power and life to the falls. The steady flow makes you think you are far from civilization. But not really - only a short hike and you travel from the falls to a dirt road to a paved highway in a matter of a few minutes. Over thousands of years and a few hundred year floods nature has made this wonderful cave-like formation under and behind the waterfall. The flat rock is a great place to picnic and enjoy the tranquility of the water. The trees surrounding the area make a fitting canopy for this unique campsite. The mountain behind is great for climbing and a short walk down the creek will get you to the base of Jensons Ledges. The ledges are a steep hike up a mountain to a spectacular vista. Definitely worth the time and effort it takes to get there. Come visit our slice of paradise - you will be glad you did.

You can add-on our outdoors camping shower setup for an additional $30, which is more like a birdbath than a real shower, but you can add hot water so it is warm. The Yurt will comfortabl heat freezing nights as well, it just will use propane more quickly.WaterWe provide a full Berkey full of filtered, clean water from our well with each visit. Walton automatically sorts recycling from trash so both can go in the same bins (we separate our recycling in a different bag just so the trash doesn’t contaminate it, but put it in the same bin as the trash.)  —-Compost (fruit + veggie scraps, tea + coffee grounds, toilet bag) gets taken to outdoor compost bin on path to parking and covered with hay or leaves—-Meat + dairy stays sealed in an airtight container when in the Yurt and taken with you when you leaveRules1) Please remove shoes as soon as you enter the Yurt2) Please scoop sawdust anytime you use the toilet, and please take the toilet sawdust out to the compost bin once it is 2/3 of the way full or when you leave, whichever comes first. (If you are only staying 1-2 nights and prefer not to do this, that is fine, just please let us know you didn’t get a chance to bring out the toilet compost and our cleaner will take care of it.)3) Please turn off all electricity, including all lights and heaters every time you leave the Yurt, especially when you end your trip.4) Please never leave any food in the Yurt for more than one day that isn’t sealed in an airtight container. Please put any compostable food in the kitchen compost and take that compost out to the outdoor compost every couple days, covering the compost with leaves or hay once it is disposed of. Weekend Trip to Paradise Falls

Randall’s site is truly paradise. It’s located in a very private area with gorgeous waterfalls and shallow pools to wade in. The site had tons of amenities including a running sink and shower. There was a large igloo container of drinking water, bbq grill and a heater in the tent as well. We opted to rent bedding and were plenty warm with the blankets provided but were also given sleeping bags in case it was too cold. The heater kept us nice and cozy. Randy was easy to communicate with and responded in a reasonable amount of time. He even contacted me before we left to see what time we would arrive. We ended up getting there pretty late (9:30pm) and he even met us on the main road to lead us to the tent site and show us around. When we got there, a fire was already started in the fire pit. We had the best time and will definitely be back with the rest of our family! Thanks so much for your hospitality Randy!

We couldn't have asked for a better experience at Greg's site. The photos don't do justice to the beauty there or show the extent of the amenities offered (looks like the inside of the tent has been updated since they were taken), everything we needed and more. Just to set your expectations straight, it is not secluded. But still worth it. There were neighbors who made noise when we were there (talking into the night, operate machineries during the day) But surprisingly, it didn't bother us. We couldn't see them and still felt like we had privacy in our own world. There were some boats on the lake but people were friendly and passed by quickly. Some highlights: kayaking, serene morning with the mist covering the lake lifting ever so slowly, lying on the dock looking at the night sky, sitting on the swing watching leaves dance. We also appreciated the clean bathroom just steps away, comfortable bed, Greg's attention to details and especially that he kindly let us check out late. We've been raving about this place to everyone and would return in a heartbeat.

Weekend Trip to Paradise Falls

The directions and check in went well and Randall met us at the site to welcome us and provide extra info on how some things worked. This site is beautiful and feels very secluded. The waterfalls are just a walk away from the campsite and made for the perfect sound to fall asleep to. We loved having zero cell service so we could truly unwind and forget about the outside world for a bit. The grill wasn’t really working (think the propane was low or out) but we made do with the grate over the fire pit with a pan we brought from home. Randall had a lot of things that helped us feel at home, like basic supplies, toilet paper, loo bags, and an oven mitt to help with the hot fire pit grate. The water was freezing this time of year but it was very refreshing. The bed was comfortable, the tent was well maintained, and we felt very safe at the site. Our favorite part was watching our dog frolic in the water while we drank our coffee and hung out by the fire down at the waterfall. It felt like 2 sites in one! I had a lot of fun bird watching and we saw some toads, but not much other wildlife was around or came near. This site is really special and I highly recommend booking it!

Greg's property is awesome, much better than the photos! The room is great - very comfortable bed, roomy fridge, tons of outlets, and even a small TV! The deck and outdoor spaces are also awesome - we grilled all weekend and enjoyed time by the lake, making campfires and just relaxing. The view is so beautiful and serene. Multiple stores and restaurants are only an 11-minute drive away. We 100% plan on coming back next summer!

Stayed at Greg’s lakeside tent and had the best time. Super clean, comfy bed, spotless bathroom and the AC and mini fridge made camp life so much easier. Kayaks available and waking up by the lake was amazing. Greg was friendly and helpful. Some say it’s not secluded and technically it isn’t but it’s damn near close. Saw comments about people using the dock which is not true. Others said it’s too close to the road but you barely hear any cars. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back.

To echo an earlier review, I'm hesitant to say just how PERFECT this campsite is. Randall and Terry are just good, honest people and so generous in allowing others to enjoy their private peace of paradise. The site and amenities are so clean and well maintained. In the middle of the woods, who would expect a sink! A hot shower! A private loo! And the waterfalls... the pictures honestly do not do them justice. We all enjoyed splashing and playing in the water, especially our 8-year-old German Shepherd, who LOVES water and literally cried when I said we were going home. Nights were so peaceful with the calming sound of the falls and the clear, starry sky. The best sleep I've had in a long while. A few tips: Bring water shoes if you have them. Don't overpack. There's a great ice cream shack in Hancock on 97. No need for bug spray! Thanks so much for EVERYTHING, Randall and Terry. We can't wait to go back!

We had an amazing time! The highlight was wandering the stream and swimming in the swimming hole- a super short walk upstream past the pipe (which was deep enough to swim around in!!). Our dog especially loved playing in the water. We spent the entire first day in the water. It rained our second day, and was a little too cold for me to swim (although my boyfriend and dog braved it). We wished we had brought scrabble or some other rainy day games to play. Luckily Randall provided plenty of dry wood and kindling so we were able to keep the fire going once the rain slowed to a drizzle. The outhouse and warm shower were a nice convenience to have. And he included plenty of towels which were very appreciated! Hosts had great communication. The campsite was very private (but Randall and his brother were easy to reach). When we realized it was going to be a rainy day we drove into Hancock (10 min drive) and had breakfast outside on the porch of the Hancock House Hotel which allowed us to sit with our pup. Would definitely go back!

Absolutely beautiful campsite. We were there after heavy rains and the falls were raging. The hosts have been very thoughtful providing accessories you might need and have tried to anticipate all needs. I’d be more effusive but I don’t want this spot to become so popular I can’t book again.
