We’ll reopen again in March/April, and we can’t wait to host you for another peaceful season by the pond. In the meantime, here’s what you can look forward to when we reopen: tucked in the woods just 3 miles from Honesdale and 5 miles from Hawley and Lake Wallenpaupack. Your private canvas bell tent sits just steps from a peaceful pond, offering a front-row seat to the changing seasons.
Our two tranquil ponds have excellent fishing and abundant wildlife — bald eagles, beavers, ducks, deer, and the occasional black bear. A canoe is available (weather permitting) for guests to paddle, cast a line, or simply float and take in the quiet.
Inside your spacious bell tent, you’ll find a queen-size bed with sheets, LED camp lights, and basic kitchen equipment and utensils. We can also offer, as options, a propane Buddy Heater, two luxury cots, and firewood. Pets are welcome.
Spend your days fishing, canoeing, stargazing, and enjoying campfires, or simply soaking in the stillness of the woods. As night falls, curl up inside the tent with a cup of cocoa and listen to the quiet rustle of the forest.

The Outlier Inn features 12 unique accommodation options, available for individual nightly bookings with a two night minimum. There are 7 year-round, winterized accommodations with private indoor facilities and heat, and 5 seasonal accommodations with private outhouses and communal outdoor kitchens, showers (hot water!), and dining. While there are communal gathering spaces on the property, each accommodation has it’s own privacy and it’s own picnic table, charcoal grill and firepit. Guests are encouraged to spend time interacting with our sheep, goats, alpacas and chickens, and perusing our 24 hour self-service Barn Shop. There is a spring-fed, swimmable pond on the property as well as a communal sauna, accessible by all guests. There is also a Rails-to-Trails hiking trail accessible from the property which leads to a park with a lake and children’s playground and to the neighboring hamlet of Mountaindale.

Our two tranquil ponds have excellent fishing and abundant wildlife — bald eagles, beavers, ducks, deer, and the occasional black bear. A canoe is available (weather permitting) for guests to paddle, cast a line, or simply float and take in the quiet.
Inside your spacious bell tent, you’ll find a queen-size bed with sheets, LED camp lights, and basic kitchen equipment and utensils. We can also offer, as options, a propane Buddy Heater, two luxury cots, and firewood. Pets are welcome.
Spend your days fishing, canoeing, stargazing, and enjoying campfires, or simply soaking in the stillness of the woods. As night falls, curl up inside the tent with a cup of cocoa and listen to the quiet rustle of the forest.

We stayed at Dark Sky retreat for a few nights and even in January after a giant snow storm it was so lovely and cozy! The woodstove and heater keep the home nice and toasty. Kevin and Amy are very communicative hosts if you any questions at all they respond quickly. The hot tub is awesome even in the below freezing temperatures and there was not a single thing we needed or forgot to bring that the house didn’t have prepared for us! The kitchen is very well stocked with supplies and everything was very clean. The stars are very visible even with not totally clear sky’s. very close to Elk Mountain which is great for beginner skiers. 10/10 recommend staying here

The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. We had a great stay at Triple Creek! The view from the campsite is stunning and so peaceful and quiet. Stephen was communicative and very sweet when we arrived, and then gave us full privacy after check-in. Like other campers have mentioned, there is a considerable uphill walk to the campsite …a cart is a must, but it’s still quite a workout getting a cart up and your gear up there. We were there late October and the ticks were bad (mostly on the walk up/down)- we planned for it with long pants, boots, tick spray etc and were fine though. There’s a great brewery about a mile down the road and tons of really cool hiking very close to the campsite - we recommend hiking the West Kill Summit along Devil’s Path. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this site to other (prepared) campers!
