Mark is an amazing host, along with his wife and dog. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, shuttled our bags to and from the site on check-in/check-out, provided us with plenty of firewood for the weekend, and lent us their canoe to take out on the private lake.
The tent is located on the far side of the lake (away from the road) with a stunning view of autumn foliage reflected off the water. It feels very remote and peaceful with only sounds from the surrounding forest and beautiful view of the stars on a clear night. The tent and fire circle are kept very clean with a heater provided inside the tent that keeps it very warm. It was the perfect setting for a romantic weekend having just proposed to my fiancée.
Overall, I would recommend this property very highly and hope to be back for another stay soon!

What a lovely stay by the lake. The sounds of the crickets made for the sweetest sound to sleep to. It felt perfectly private and was a great place to reset! Can't wait to come back.

This is our second time at Marc’s site - it is a beautiful place, completely private on a lake. The camp has all the amenities you could want, and Marc and his wife are great relaxed hosts (as is their lovely dog!). While we weren’t able to swim in the lake this time due to a type of algae bloom, we got to paddle around in Marc’s Canoe. Lots of great restaurants, farm shops and little antique stores around - and the hiking in the area is outstanding. We hope to return a third time!

Beautiful land! We loved being right on the lake. Although we did not swim, we took the canoe and SUP board out a bunch. The tent and bed was very cozy and had everything you needed including pillows and linens. We especially appreciate the free firework! We had more than enough. Mark was super friendly and communicative and gave us everything we needed

Beautiful, secluded, well-maintained property, perfect for relaxing, campfires and fishing (caught two within 5 minutes!) boating, swimming in the lake. Close to Minnewaska State Park in case you want to visit and a short trip into town for groceries. Mark and his wife were very welcoming and take great care of their land. Dot the dog was another pleasant addition. We spent a great long weekend here and highly recommend this beautiful spot!

Lovely place Mark and Stephanie are great hosts they have hundreds of acres and a lake on the property where this is located.
Place is isolated and there’s no chance of running into anyone but animals and nature.
Highly recommend higher quality place!

My first timing booking a hipcamp and this did not disappoint! The site is absolutely stunning. We had the best time on the lake and hiking around the property. Mark was extremely helpful and accommodating. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is everything it says it is. Beautiful property, peaceful, private. My grandkids played in the lake most of there stay. We also explored the trails through the forest, it was beautiful, ferns and pine trees. The host were very nice and accommodating. My grandkids definitely want to go back, as do I.

We had the loveliest of times. The property is absolutely gorgeous, well maintained, and incredibly private. The tent was dry and comfortable, and we were given an ample stock of wood. The lake was just a few minutes walk, and we had the best time swimming in its cool waters. We also got to take a walk on the many trailers on the property. Mark and his wife were kind and considerate hosts. We hope to return soon!

The streamside site was great for hot summer days! Being under the dense tree canopy would make the hottest of days bearable. The tent was very comfortable and the toilet was very clean and easy to use. The lake was only a short walk away with 2 canoes available for us to use as we please. There was also a paddle board by the lake. Plenty of land to explore and truly the best way to spend a summer weekend!

We had an amazing weekend at the stream side tent! The property is absolutely stunning, densely wooded with some nice trails we spent some time exploring with our dog. The site is very private, we couldn't see or hear the campers at the other site aside from the distant glint of their campfire. The tent and camp toilet were very clean, the bed was comfy, and there's a lovely fire pit perfect for grilling and relaxing around the fire. The walk to the site from the parking area is super easy and actually a pleasure, the forest is so beautiful and peaceful. And mark was so gracious schlepping our belongings with his kabota! While the stream side tent doesn't have private lake access the way the other tent does, you can still access the lake from Mark and Steph's yard and it is beautiful, great temperature for swimming and perfect for paddling around on the paddleboard or canoe available for guest use. We appreciated being only a 25 minute drive from Sam's point, as we had come to the area to hike, but you could have a perfect weekend just relaxing at this hipcamp. We hope to be back to do just that!

Marks land is stunning, super lush and the lake is so nice to stay by. We had a great time swimming and paddle boarding by the lake. Mark takes amazing care of his property, its a wonderful place to stay.

This is a gem of a find! The tent and bathroom were both extremely clean and lived up to the hype. What surpassed my expectations was the land we got to camp on! There is a private trail system we did laps on with our dog off leash. The creek had the most pleasant sound, and really enhanced the stay. Lots of privacy, we could not hear or see cars from our site -- the other campsite is also out of sight/sound.
I can't say enough good things about the hosts. Thoughtfuf and kind from the moment we arrived until we left.

We had such a wonderful time staying on Mark and Stephanie's beautiful property. We stayed at the streamside site, and it was PERFECT for us... Shrouded in forest next to a quietly babbling brook and a very cool old stone wall. If you are looking for a quiet time in the woods, this could be the perfect choice for you too!
