Simply the best tenting you can find in the White Mountains. The campground to get away from campgrounds, where magic touches every corner. Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's top treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. The Bread and Puppet, Highland Center for the Arts, Barre Oprah house, art galleries, etc within an hour drive in any direction. A great place for children, I have swings and trees to climb, games, archaeological digs, scavenger hunts finding 10 different antique farm implements, and learning how they were used, to learning about mini microbe's and how to be friends with pollinators. There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain. From 5 Kezars rd turn right onto Kezars Ridge Drive, the last camp road before the pavement ends.) At 0.6 miles keep right onto 5 Kezar Ponds Road. Look for a GLLT sign on the right. This is the Mountain Trail. There is a second access 0.5 miles farther west on 5 Kezar Ponds Road for Ron’s Loop. Here is a link for all Lovell Land trust trails: https://www.gllt.org/five-kezars-reserve 2 Local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles (n a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs. Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. Carter's XC Ski Center

Carter's Cross Country Ski Center and Shop has been a family-owned business since 1984. The land on which the trails have been built on has been in the Carter family since the late 1700's. The first Carter who came to Bethel was the first doctor in the area that helped Mollyocket, a Native American medicine woman. All the different generations that came along after were either farmers or loggers or both. Carter's XC Ski Center is located on the banks of the Big Androscoggin River. Our private established skiing/walking trails meander through the Maine woods all the way up to Farwell Mountain, overlooking Sunday River Ski, the Presidential and Mahoosuc Mountain Ranges and Mt. Washington. Nearby is Middle Intervale Farm, owned by John Carter, who produces his own vegetables and meat. He has a small, self-serve farm stand right on Intervale Road, next to Carter's. Guests can enjoy the property's views and amenities, such as hiking, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, bird watching, and relaxing. Weekend Trip to Sacred Nectar Sanctuary

We had such a wonderful stay at this campsite! Our host Nick was incredibly accommodating and always quick to respond, it made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming from start to finish. We brought our two kids and our German Shepherd! The site couldn’t have been more perfect for all of us. The kids had a blast exploring, and our dog felt right at home. He was off leash the entire time and the second we pulled up, we ended up meeting Chaga, the friendliest Husky you will ever meet! Chaga stayed right outside our RV the entire night and waited to greet us in the morning. He and our dog Scout got along instantly. Scout did not want to leave on the last day! We had to literally drag him back into the RV lol. They will be best friends fureverrr 😂🐶🐕 It’s not always easy to find a place that works so well for the whole family, but this spot truly did. The campsite was extremely peaceful, spacious , clean, and thoughtfully set up with the most amazing views of the mountains. We also ended up using the sauna as well, which was so relaxing. I wish we could’ve stayed there longer than two days. We will definitely be back another time when it gets a little bit warmer. We highly highly recommend this location for families and dog owners! 🏕️🐾✨

The site was lovely and as expected - riverside with a picnic table and a nice wide flat surface for setting up our 2-person tent. As described, it is a fairly steep (but wide) path to get down to the site, though we managed even after dark with head lamps on and a slow pace. There is a shared fire pit for all three sites at one of the sites. The privy was clean, well maintained, and centrally located. The host, Abi, was responsive and provided detailed information about how to get to the site, the expectations, and amenities.

We had a phenominal time during a little late season camping trip here. The land was stunning and provided awesome views of the stars at night; the stream made for great ambient sound, all around great area! Sean was super friendly and we even got to meet the goats! Short drive away from Norway and Bethel, would defintiely recommened if you're looking for a weekend getaway trip.

The main event from this property is just a short drive or hike away.

4 nights at Waterfalls Wild And Free

My husband, myself, and our two dogs had a blast during our stay! We didn’t even go anywhere because we were having such a great time just exploring the property/nearby trails. It was a little cold at night but the heat in the RV kept us toasty and we had an endless supply of firewood for the days! We used the kitchen to cook our meals and there seriously was everything and more that we could’ve needed. Our dogs especially enjoyed the waterfall - there were quite a few people on the trail the first day we walked there but significantly less the second day. Highly recommend staying here! There was lots of privacy and nature, a little cell service for texts but not streaming which for us was exactly what we wanted. A truly fantastic getaway for a few days.

This campsite was amazing. The cleanest bathroom and shower room with a small heater during a below 32 night was great after a long bike ride. The grille, electric hookup and tent over the table were nice glampy touches. It’s nice to rough it, but it’s equally nice to have some comfort features. The host Ann, was extremely nice and friendly. Can’t say enough good things about this location!

Beautiful views. No one else was camping at the other 2 sites, so having a "communal fire pit" wasn't an issue. Hauling all of the gear up the steep hill back to the car was challenging but the host has carts and a wheelbarrow to help.
