We have a veggie garden, fruit trees, chickens, and ducks. *electric fencing is LIVE!* We utilize solar energy and have energy efficient rated buildings. The owners of the property, Chelsey and Jon live with with their two young kids and dogs on the premises. The dogs are unleashed and friendly (though they will come running and barking loudly to say hi)! We have a yoga studio and offer classes upon request. We have many games for you to use, a bluetooth movie projector, walking trails (sometimes needing a bit of maintenance), a fire pit and grill. The property is in the woods rustic woods of Vermont, amongst all of its seasons. Please note that we do our best to maintain the property as weather arises, but the walkways, some of which are a bit steep, may be snowy, icy or otherwise. Please come prepared with a vehicle and shoes that are suited for the season of your arrival (mud, snow and ice) for both our property and the town road we live on. Checking in during daylight hours is advised. Nearby, the town of Woodstock in only minutes away with cute shops and restaurants. There are many local hikes, national and state parks, the Quechee Gorge, white water rapids, The VAST (snowmobile trails), ski resorts and array of local events to attend.

This property overlooking the beautiful Connecticut river (no access to) has two cabins to choose from, one sleeps two people and the other can accommodate three. The property is such a peaceful spot! We have a rustic outhouse, and showers can be taken in the main farmhouse on the property if you would like, available Monday thru Saturday from 8am to 9am. So that means Sundays are not available or evenings. The cabin is outfitted with a comfy bed, fridge, and microwave and coffee maker. We sell firewood to sit around a cozy campfire at night and stargaze! You can even purchase a S'mores package as well! Enjoy a cup of coffee in the mornings and listen to the birds. Bottled water is included as well and placed in your fridge upon arrival. Potable water also easily accessible. We will do our best to make you feel at home away from home. In a way that is never intrusive, we respect your privacy. Come and unwind with nature all around you. We are very pet friendly! And ask that all dogs are on a leash while outside. Also, pets are not to be left in the cabins unattended at any time. I had a great stay at Ryegate. The cabin was warm and homey, a nice break from camping when the rain and cold arrived. Jessica was welcoming, communicative and responsive. She provided good information about the stay and was kind enough to let me use the shower in the farmhouse, which was much appreciated. The cabin really has all you need... shelter, a cozy bed, a microwave, fridge, and coffee station. Sitting on the front porch with coffee overlooking the river and the mountain tree line is a wonderful way to spend a peaceful morning! The cabin is decorated very cute, which is a nice bonus. Note: You need to be up for a bit of outdoor life ... like using an outhouse and washing dishes in a sink outside. It isn't primitive but it is glamping.

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was adorably decorated with a cozy rustic aesthetic and felt very welcoming. The bed was super comfortable, and although there was a space heater provided, I didn’t end up needing it. The host was extremely communicative and helpful, even making sure I had a warm shower in the morning, which I really appreciated. The views of the river were beautiful—especially in the morning with the fog rolling across the water. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the animals on the property—it made the experience feel even more special. I also loved that I was able to bring my dog along with me.

Jess was an amazing host and this was by far the most comfy cozy and CLEAN place on our fall New England trip!! The pictures honestly didn’t do it justice. She really took care of all the details you might need and it was very well presented. We got showed in the morning and the hospitality was amazing. The property is very beautiful and peaceful. Wise Pines was a lovely off-the-beaten-track place to stay near Woodstock. Incredibly comfortable bed and clean amenities. My dog and I enjoyed walking the beautiful gravel road and hanging out in the common space by the fireplace. Definitely recommend!

The cabin had a great view of the river and I enjoyed my stay. My dog was allowed which I always appreciate. Jessica brought a heater for me which was perfect for the chilly nights. I arrived at night and did not see the sink/hose for water. You do have to turn the water on and off from the house. Jessica was very responsive and I was able to meet and chat with her. There are chickens, ducks, and 2 goats but I did not hear any of them at all from the cabin.

Jessica is fantastic and you couldn’t ask for a more well kept place to spend the night. We sprung for the s’mores and firewood packages and I’d highly recommend. Lots of great, dry wood, and you couldn’t pick up the s’mores supplies cheaper yourself— made it all that much easier to have an enjoyable evening.

It's a neat and clean campground. The restrooms were spotless. It's peaceful and beautiful. The linens package I received was a pleasant bonus. Comforter and pillows were plush, sheets were nice and towels seemed new. Very nice! Staff was pleasant and polite. It's been over 15 years since I've been camping and the cabin with linens was a step up I needed. I would book again.

Jessica is a great host and the cabin was really clean and cute! The set up is really cool and the view is amazing but we can’t have access because the road is private as mentioned by Jessica. The rustic toilet was really tidy! Real dish would be highly appreciated like wine glasses, real plates, glasses instead of paper cup, etc. Also, an additional time to shower after the day (example from 4:00 to 5:00) would be nice after a long hike. Overall the place is great for 1 or 2 nights! Thanks!
