Site 2 was awesome, I would totally recommend it for anyone looking for a secluded camping getaway that is also within 15 minutes of a grocery store. The site was well stocked with firewood and kindling. Billy was very responsive and kind. He made our group feel welcome, even checking in on us following a storm. It’s hard to know where to start with this review, because this location is a true gem in every sense. I was taken back with how charming the forest was and how it changed character as you would visit all of the fun detours along the trail or come across unique art. The camping situation is wonderful, offering realistic accommodation such as water and other standard camping supplies like picnic tables in an area that would be hard to bring these things to. You will feel a true sense of seclusion and safety on the property. It is definitely a place that feels welcoming. I’m grateful that this place exists and is managed by a wonderful host. You wouldn’t regret enjoying a trip here.

This is a gorgeous property with amazing views from the top! Trails are carefully maintained so despite the heavy rain one can still walk easily. Sites are extremely private so you truly feel you are camping in the wilderness. The climb up is very steep so I would highly recommend you take advantage of the offer to haul your gear to the site, especially if you are a senior like me! Eben is a delightful host who goes out of his way to accommodate any needs or wants.

We had a fantastic experience staying at Oak Terrace at Hussey Mountain Tree Farm. The site was very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully set up. The views were absolutely gorgeous — truly a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature. There are so many things to do right on site, from hiking trails to peaceful spots for just unwinding. Despite being so quiet and secluded, it’s also conveniently close to town, which made it super easy to grab anything we needed. This place offers the best of both worlds: tranquility and convenience. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We loved this camp site. Site two was a large size with the fire ring steps away from the wooden platform. Great to have the tarp over the platform as the rain fell. The river was raging due to the large amount of rain. Looking forward to returning when swimming is an option. So grateful for this beautiful piece of land. Will be back most definitely.

Spent a night at the Beaver Pond site and it was lovely. This site was secluded enough where I couldn't hear any major roadways and instead just the frogs and owls. There's also a river that wraps around the site which makes for pleasant white noise at night. It was very well stocked with dry kindling and split pine logs, and even the benches are made from pine. It is clear that the owner as put a lot of time and care into making this a wonderful place to camp. I am definitely going to come back.

Staying at Bob's was perfect. I rode a bike in from Boston and it rained all weekend, but the provisions on site kept me dry (as can be). The river is very nice, I swam up and down a few times. Met Bob and Wilson and had a nice chat and gave some scritches, but definitely felt like they respected my privacy as well. If you like staying at state parks and the like, but feel like you'd enjoy something a little more off the grid and a lot more private, Sauhegan Shores is perfect.

We loved staying at Boulder Brook! We stayed at site 2 which is right next to the Brook. Peter has thought about everything to make the stay wonderful. The tent platform is really nice, there is a broom hanging and available to use. The fire pit is plenty big enough and there is a smaller area to cook over. The outhouse is very nice and fully stocked. There is plenty of firewood. We will definitely return

Surround yourself in the natural beauty of a working flower farm in Maine in this quiet, secluded location that's close to area beaches, lighthouses, and more. Located about an acre behind our family home (which you can see from the spot), the camp site is within steps of our barn, which has both running water and electrical hookups (20amps) for campers to use. An open field next door plays host to numerous deer and turkeys, and the flower fields feature a rotating lineup of beautiful blooms (depending on the time of the season.) We are located off a busy street where cars drive a little too fast — if you have a dog that needs to be walked daily, we would recommend stopping by the beach or one of the many nearby walking trails instead of venturing down the road. Max length of vehicles is 30 feet -- we've found that any longer and the turns are too tight. 10 mins to grocery store (Hannaford) and gas stations 12 mins to local beaches (Long Sands and Short Sands) 15 mins to Portsmouth, NH 20 mins to Nubble Lighthouse 25 mins to Ogunquit, ME 35 mins to Kennebunkport, ME 45 mins to Portland, ME A final note: This is a working flower flower farm and on occasion there will need to be someone working in the field near to the campsite, often during the very early hours of the morning (6am during the spring and summer, later in the fall.) That said, we don't use tractors or any heavy machinery and we will always make our best effort to communicate this ahead of time.

Watersrock Woods Campsites are private tent and remote camping locations in the beautiful Southern Maine forest. One site is a remote tent site with spots for multiple tents. Established in 2004, we are an 87 acre ATFS certified Tree Farm located in the Blue Hills Range in the Foothills to NH’s White Mountains. Choose from one of four unique sites / outdoor spaces to best fit your camping needs; book a combination to reserve a section of the mountain, or book all four sites for total privacy or for events. Our Farm spans the northerly side of Hussey Mountain from the base to the summit. Guests are provided with private access to several miles of multi-use nature trails, multiple scenic lookouts, a three acre PYO blueberry maze, and a dock on our private eight acre pond with available boat rentals. At the 2WD shared parking area guests are provided with a outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a portable toilet, garden hose for washing, a power strip for charging devices, and a spigot with potable water for filling containers. Over two decades ago we created our first campsite for the purpose of hosting family and friends. Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. Since, we have been hosting campers on a daily basis and continuously improving our sites / infrastructure / views. We’re excited to see what the next two decades hold; come join us on the mountain! Camp near the bank of the Souhegan River in the shade while listening to the river tumble over the ledges upstream. In season, enjoy the chest deep swimming hole 100 feet from your campsite. Two horses graze on the other side of the privacy fence. If you don't like friendly dogs try site 2 where we have a better chance of keeping our dog Wilson from dropping in to visit. He loves people too much not to want to greet folks on Site 1. Site-2 is at the farthest most downstream end of the property and from mid-May to mid-October it is totally screened by foliage. From your site you only see trees and the river. If you don't like other dogs, this is the site you want. Still no guarantee Wilson won't visit, but it's easier to keep Wilson away from this corner of the property. The other side of the river is town conservation land so the only people you're likely to see will be passing by in kayaks or on paddleboards. In dry season, both sites are a great place to start a float trip and you'll likely have the next 1.5 miles all to yourself since rapids up stream become impassable in July and August. You are only two traffic lights away from the Merrimack Premium Outlet Mall if you need something to do during inclement weather.

The old stagecoach road which runs through the property from Canterbury Station to Northfield Station is now part of the main trails system. The early Pony Express riders dubbed the swamp on the land "Wolf Swamp", because there were many reports of riders seeing Wolves in the Swamp. The property is very open, although the sites are very spread out and secluded for ultimate privacy. There are several great hiking trails on the property, also used by local mountain bikers and Horseback Riding. Occasionally there will be an ATV or Dirt Bike passing through. Bakers Island Light Station is located on Bakers Island in Salem Sound, a 60-acre island with a large summer colony. The lighthouse stands at 59 feet tall and continues to guide ships in and out of Salem Harbor with an alternating 20-second white-red light. The 10-acre light station, which includes six historic structures such as two keepers houses, an oil house, and a lantern room (now operating as a gift shop), is located in the northwest quadrant of the island and was formally owned and operated by the US Coast Guard. The rest of the island is in private ownership including the Bakers Island Wharf. The deed to historic Bakers Island Light Station was transferred on August 27, 2014, from the United States government to the Essex National Heritage Commission (Essex Heritage). Park at the end of the dirt portion of Farley Rd and it is a short 5 minute hike to the campsites. There is a marsh and a creek on the property that support myriad wildlife. There are owls, loons, eagles, hawks, hermit thrushes, robins, turkeys, song birds and herons. There are deer, moose, bear(don't leave your food out!), chipmunks, squirrels, opossum, raccoons(don't leave your food out!), skunks, minks, otters and many other species in our neighborhood. We live at the end of a dead end road with very little traffic. No potable water provided, bring a filter and filter fresh water while you are here. Outhouse is completed and has a separate trail off of the white blaze trail. Just before the Quiet campsite there is a trail for the outhouse on the right. **Parking is located at the end of the dirt road(Farley Road) and there is a white Hipcamp sign with an arrow pointing towards the Thank you!

We had enjoyed having him and his yurt on our land so when he left, It left a virtual and metaphorical hole. We improved upon our tenant's idea by adding a proper outhouse and outdoor shower area. The space offered us a quiet haven during hectic times and now we are ready to share that opportunity. Our yurt sits on a quiet and private nook on our 7 acre property. We are right in between Kennebunk and Biddeford so there are quite a number of areas to explore if you make us your home base. It is a lovely 6 mile ride to Goose Rocks Beach or you can spend an afternoon walking around Dock's Square in Kennebunkport. Biddeford is a rapidly rebuilding mill town that has made several high profile food and travel publications for its great dining spots. If you are visiting to get away from the city, we are less than a mile away from the Eastern Trail which connects South Portland to Kittery, ME. Bring a bike or plan a quiet walk.
