Established in 2004, we are an 87 acre ATFS certified Tree Farm located in the Blue Hills Range in the Foothills to NH’s White Mountains. Our Farm spans the northerly side of Hussey Mountain from the base to the summit. At the 2WD shared parking area guests are provided with a outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a portable toilet, garden hose for washing, a power strip for charging devices, and a spigot with potable water for filling containers. Over two decades ago we created our first campsite for the purpose of hosting family and friends. Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain. From 5 Kezars rd turn right onto Kezars Ridge Drive, the last camp road before the pavement ends.) At 0.6 miles keep right onto 5 Kezar Ponds Road. Look for a GLLT sign on the right. This is the Mountain Trail. There is a second access 0.5 miles farther west on 5 Kezar Ponds Road for Ron’s Loop. Here is a link for all Lovell Land trust trails: https://www.gllt.org/five-kezars-reserve 2 Local waterfalls only 2 miles away. Drive back out to 5 Kezars road. Take a right on the paved road. It will turn back into dirt. Keep on this road until you see a beautiful stone house on your left. Keep going just up the hill and you will see a right turn into the woods where you can park. There are no signs for Kezar gorge. Hike towards the sound of the falls. There is a small cave under the falls you can climb up into if you are a strong swimmer. There is a second set of falls if you hike down the river. A most magical spot for sure. Virginia lake is in the White Mountain National forest and is only 6 miles (n a ten minute drive away) Sometimes you have to hike in a bit to get to the beach. Shallow beach is great for children and dogs. Keewayden Lake Dam is a fun place to swim in a local lake. The right to roam, also called the right of access, or everyman's right(“allemannsretten”) is a traditional right from ancient times, and since 1957 has also been a part of the Norwegian Outdoor Recreation Act. It ensures that everybody gets to experience nature, even on larger privately owned areas. In our travels to Norway, we learned of this law and loved the concept so much we brought it back with us to America. Yet we had no land to offer. So, we searched...and searched....and searched some more. Then we found what would become camp Streife. 20 acres of uncut timber growth forest, tucked in the hills of Rumford Maine. With a nearby brook, pond and within 20 minutes of some of our favorite ski locations it was just right. The rules of this law are simple. Be considerate and thoughtful. Don't damage nature and other surroundings. Leave the landscape as you would want to find it. Leave no trace. You may put up a tent, or sleep under the stars, for the night anywhere in the countryside, forests or mountains, as long as you keep at least 500 feet away from the nearest inhabited house or cabin. This rule of 500 feet distance also applies to camping cars and caravans. If you want to stay for more than two nights in the same place, you must ask the landowner's permission, except in the mountains or very remote areas. Well, we've taken care of all those Allemannsretten rules for you. We invite you to our small part of the world and encourage you to exercise your right to roam. There is a beautiful hike to a mountain lookout view of an amazing panoramic of lakes and mountains including Mt Washington and Pleasant Ski mountain. From 5 Kezars rd turn right onto Kezars Ridge Drive, the last camp road before the pavement ends.) At 0.6 miles keep right onto 5 Kezar Ponds Road. Look for a GLLT sign on the right. This rule of 500 feet distance also applies to camping cars and caravans. If you want to stay for more than two nights in the same place, you must ask the landowner's permission, except in the mountains or very remote areas. Well, we've taken care of all those Allemannsretten rules for you. We invite you to our small part of the world and encourage you to exercise your right to roam. We had such a wonderful stay at this campsite! Our host Nick was incredibly accommodating and always quick to respond, it made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming from start to finish. We brought our two kids and our German Shepherd! The site couldn’t have been more perfect for all of us. The kids had a blast exploring, and our dog felt right at home. He was off leash the entire time and the second we pulled up, we ended up meeting Chaga, the friendliest Husky you will ever meet! Chaga stayed right outside our RV the entire night and waited to greet us in the morning. He and our dog Scout got along instantly. Scout did not want to leave on the last day! We had to literally drag him back into the RV lol. They will be best friends fureverrr 😂🐶🐕 It’s not always easy to find a place that works so well for the whole family, but this spot truly did. The campsite was extremely peaceful, spacious , clean, and thoughtfully set up with the most amazing views of the mountains. We also ended up using the sauna as well, which was so relaxing. I wish we could’ve stayed there longer than two days. We will definitely be back another time when it gets a little bit warmer. We highly highly recommend this location for families and dog owners! 🏕️🐾✨

We had such a great time at the yurt and exploring the property with our two dogs! Morgan did a great job of showing us everything we needed to know for our stay. The yurt itself is absolutely beautiful and truly makes you feel like you’re sleeping in nature. The location that they chose to build the yurt provides an amazing view of the mountains right out the front window. We opted to use the wood-fired hot tub while we were there and it was a fantastic experience. Although the wood stove was out of commission during our stay, the space heaters that were provided were more than enough to keep the yurt toasty, even during the cold late November nights. We would gladly come back again!

Eben was a fantastic host! Very informative and personable. We closed out the season, so we didn’t get to experience all of the amenities available during warmer times, but the offerings are very well built out and thoughtful (water, showers, bathroom availability, hiking and fruit picking). The campsite itself was gorgeous and very well arranged/maintained. We especially appreciated the type of grill available on the fire pit and fire poker. Can’t wait to stay here again!

The site was lovely and as expected - riverside with a picnic table and a nice wide flat surface for setting up our 2-person tent. As described, it is a fairly steep (but wide) path to get down to the site, though we managed even after dark with head lamps on and a slow pace. There is a shared fire pit for all three sites at one of the sites. The privy was clean, well maintained, and centrally located. The host, Abi, was responsive and provided detailed information about how to get to the site, the expectations, and amenities.

Absolutely beautiful campsite along a little pond. We had some surprise visits from a couple horses, Emily and Sunny, from a neighboring farm which put a great big smile on our faces. Dwayne, the man, the myth, the legend himself brought us two very large bags of wood which we happily burned throughout the cold night. Still one of my favorite sites for its convenience and scenery. Although the highway is right next to you, after a little bit it turns into white noise and helped me sleep like a baby. Thanks again for a great stay on our final trip of the year. See you guys next year!

We stayed at Birch Grove on a particularly cold, rainy, and windy Halloween weekend and Nick already had a large tarp set up over the easiest tent spot.... plus a cow skull and a few candles for the ambiance. Incredible site with multiple pitches spread out around the land. We were lucky enough to be put on the beat site...on site 7 (despite booking the field site). What a view and great facilities. Fit pit with grill for cooking whilst watching the stars and white mountains. Camp cooking kitchen and shower near the main house. Fire wood for sale. Compost toilet at each site. The only problem was we wished we could have stayed longer! Look out for the friendly moose and check out the little boat on the pond. Fab site 10/10.

Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living. "What should I expect my experience to be like?" Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property. Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property. Out back  features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.). Amenities: For Sites 1-4, the hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms/hot showers, dining area, and lounge area.  Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each. PLEASE NOTE: Towels can be rented for $5, or bring your own for free. Camp Ebb and Flow is located on the western edge of the White Mountains, near the crossing of the Appalachian Trail and a short drive to VT. Three lakes nearby for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. Hiking trails nearby. The camp offers RV sites with water, electricity, and sewer, an RV site with no hookups, and several tent sites. One of the tent sites has water and electricity and another has electricity with nearby water. There is bathhouse with two toilets and two vanities as well as a shower with changing room. Potable water is also available from a spigot at the bathhouse. There are over six acres of mowed fields for activities and walking. There is also a lovely brook running through the property with many areas you can cool off in from the summer heat. This property has a lengthy history going back to colonial times. It’s been a farm, an apple orchard, and once had a sawmill. Please check the calendar for available dates. Check-in is no later than 9pm unless late arrival arrangements have been made prior to booking. Whenever possible, try to arrive before dark because there are no lights at most sites, which can make setup difficult. A note regarding electric vehicles (EV): If you have an electric vehicle and would like to tent camp, please select one of our full hookup RV sites. If you have the proper electric adapter for your vehicle, you can charge your vehicle at the 30A RV plug while tenting in the field near the RV site. We do not supply these adapters, and we cannot allow you to charge your vehicle unless you have reserved an RV site with full hookups. If you do not see an open site for the days you'd like to get away, please contact us. Sometimes we can make other arrangements, allowing you to stay.

The yurt features full kitchen to include a small refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, small 20" cook stove/oven, double cast iron sink, drip coffee pot, tea kettle, microwave, toaster/air fry oven, dishware/glassware for 2-4 people, silverware and cooking utensils, dish towels, dish soap, olive oil, vinegar, cooking spices, cookie sheets, muffin and loaf pans. The bathroom has a 48" stand up shower with rain shower head and is stocked with towels, hand soap, bar soap, hair dryer, starter toilet paper and paper towels for your stay. The living space has a sofa and two chairs perfect to sit and read a book by the fire, play some games or settle down and watch a movie on the 43" smart Roku tv. The yurt is heated with a comfortbuilt pellet stove which is easy to use and can be left unattended for a day out to come back to a nice warm space. We also have a Mini split heat pump which is an additional heat source but also provides air conditioning to keep you cool and comfortable in the warmer months. Outside space Enjoy the view while sitting on the deck with the gas fire place or sit by the wood burning fire pit. (We do not supply wood) but there may occasionally be some left on site. Location The location is perfect for anyone looking for adventure! We are 13 mins to Mt Abram and 27 mins to Sunday River Ski resort! There are many lakes and ponds nearby that are perfect if you are looking to go fishing, kayaking, or looking for a place to cool off in the summer. We are close to many hiking and ATV/snowmobile trails. The town of Bethel is a 15-min drive with lots of great activities including tubingand has some great restaurants, activities as well as a small grocery store.

Where to go

North Conway

A 10-minute drive north of the town center, North Conway is well-known for its outlet stores and is home to the Conway Scenic Railroad, which operates historic railway routes aboard vintage trains that depart from a Victorian station—one route takes riders from North Conway through the Crawford Notch mountain pass. 

Echo Lake

Just outside North Conway, Echo Lake is a popular swimming spot encircled by a trail. Other trails lead to the top of the 700-foot Cathedral Ledge, from where views of the Saco River Valley are spectacular.

Bartlett

A 25-minute drive northwest, the town of Bartlett is home to Diana’s Baths, a series of waterfalls lying along Lucy Brook in Bartlett, which is fed from Big Attitash Mountain. Just south of town, Bear Notch Road is one of the best places in the Mount Washington Valley for spotting moose, deer, and other wildlife.
