Sacred Nectar rests on the land of the Wabanaki Tribes. This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's top treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose.
Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. HipCamp was the first step towards sharing and opening up the land to create an Intentional lifestyle. One in which we hope to share our way of being that brings awareness to the natural world we have fallen so far from. Nick and his tribe of like minds are creating a holistic, educational, retreat, workshop, and event center where people can come to learn how to co-exist in a harmonious relationship with nature and each other. Camping here at the hostel is a great option for those who are looking for the economic price point and rugged nature of camping, while still having the amenities of modern living.
"What should I expect my experience to be like?"
Being a hostel, the experience we offer is a community focused one. Sites are setup similar to rooms in the hostel. They are located in fairly close proximity to one another and feature (in addition to private fire pits in the sites) one large community fire ring at the center of the property.
Parking and camping are located at the rear of the Hostel property.
Out back features several campsites, a community fire ring, picnic table, and charcoal grill. Parking is first come, first serve, but there is plenty of street parking available along Washington St (Summertime street parking. In winter, town hall may be used as overflow parking.).
Amenities:
For Sites 1-4, the hostel is yours to access. Use the back porch and side entrances (Access code will be given to you during check-in). Inside you’ll find… Full community kitchen, bathrooms/hot showers, dining area, and lounge area.
Breakfast: Pancake mix provided in the community kitchen.
Dorm style bathroom facilities on the second floor have two toilets and shower stalls each. PLEASE NOTE: Towels can be rented for $5, or bring your own for free.

There are three beds inside the cabin, bunk bed with a full size on the bottom twin on the top and a futon couch ***bring your own bedding, towels washcloths, paper products, plates, silverware** This Camp is rented through an honor system and because I rent it this way it saves you money by not paying all the cleaning fees like Airbnb, but you must leave the camp in the condition you found it or better taking anything brought to the property away ** especially trash or anything in the refrigerators** at your departure date. If anything inside or out was moved during your stay make sure it is placed back in its original placement, feel free to set up as many tents that will fit along with Easy Ups.

The Lodge and cabins we have at Sand Pond are situated about one hundred yards from beautiful sand pond (actually a lake). Sand Pond is a spring fed lake near the base of Silver Mountain which is a beautiful and close by hike to 360 views of the surrounding region/mountains. You will have easy and direct access to the sandy beach and swimming. The water is crystal clear and the water around the beach is very shallow which is great for children. The beach has a fire pit available as does the lodge. We have kayaks, a canoe and paddleboards available on the beach for guests to use.
All cabins and the lodge have a single bathroom and shower, porches, kitchens and living rooms.

We loved the star gazing site 1! The views are beautiful. The property was awesome. There was a ton to do especially with young kids. The hosts built a very cool fairy playground along the creek. Childhood heaven. It was nice having our dogs off leash. The camping sites were very well maintained. We had an overall amazing experience and commend Nick for his kindness and integrity. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

I appreciated the way they accommodated the late arrival for me, I was stuck in awful traffic on the way up and they were so accommodating to let me set up and officially check in the next day after ai reserved online, I got there late at night and it was a relief. Kinda pricey as far as camping goes, but this ain't your average camping. Just a big ol beautiful, natural, whimsical playground. Nick and other family/staff we came across were all wonderful people. The furry farm dog Chaga is an absolute delight. Epic sauna experience was indeed epic. Zip line was a fun little discovery wandering the grounds. Wish we could have had more time there, and boy do I hope to come back in the fall. Can only imagine what it's like then. Recommend gunning for sites 4 or 5. Views were more open than site 6, but ultimately you can't really go wrong.

Loved our spring stay at Sacred Nectar! Our second time camping here, but first time in a field site. There are three dispersed campsites in the field, we chose #3 (upon entering the property, there is a no-contact campers check-in lean-to with a map, so the field sites were easy to find; theres also great wood bundles to buy here, cash or venmo). Camped for a weekend in late April with a toddler and two pups, all who loved the visit from camp dog, Chaga! Incredible scenery, star gazing, nice picnic table and fire pit. We had a truck Camper, as well as two tents, and two other suvs, plenty of space! Only found a few ticks and there were pine trees around us for shade when needed. Highly recommend Nick's place!

My favorite campsite in New England. So much space, mountain views , instant access to hiking trails, I could go on. Hope to return again soon!

Nick was amazing. Campsites were fantastic!! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. We will be going back again very soon. On a scale from 1-10 I would give it a 20+.
