The Cuckoos nest was just perfect for a couple nights in nature while also being equipped with everything you need. The land was well kept, the river was great to float on all day- we rented the canoe they have on sight which was fantastic, also the bed was comfortable and the room was cozy. The outdoor shower was nice and clean, a great touch that it was warm water. Also the bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The Bluetooth speaker in the room and Porch along with the blackstone cooktop made it a fun romantic weekend for a couple! Only wish is we could’ve stayed longer! We would certainly be back!
We absolutely loved staying on Michael’s property at Sweet Water Farm. The Sugar Shack cabin was perfect for our honeymoon, and the cabin, camp kitchen, and outhouse, which was basically a normal flushing bathroom, were all incredibly well stocked with thoughtful amenities. I especially appreciated the sunburn aftercare!
We spent our days sitting in the river, drinking beer by the fire, reading books on the porch swing with coffee, and cooking together. We even went hiking nearby and foraged oyster mushrooms. The Harvester Market and local farm stand were great for groceries, we loved the treats from the Henniker cafe, and the burgers from Michael’s farm were amazing. He even delivered them right to us.
It was exactly the peaceful, unplugged honeymoon we wanted. We loved it so much that we’re already talking about making Sweet Water Farm an annual trip!

My two kids (ages 7 & 9) and I loved the Sugar Shack! We had an absolute blast - such an amazing place. Michele and Michael were so kind and welcoming - fantastic hosts! Already looking forward to our next visit!

We loved the cabin, outdoor kitchen, and kayaking/fishing in the river! Mosquitos were really really bad would have liked a screened in porch or electric bug zapper. Outdoor shower and running water bathroom were a nice touch!
Awesome spot stocked with everything you need. On a river with great fishing. Buy and eat some local beef from Sweetwater. Perfect getaway.

I spent my weekend at this amazing place and loved every part of it! The lake is clean and the water is simply perfect. I especially loved the outdoor kitchen, and the cabin is absolutely beautiful and super comfortable. My boyfriend and I had such a great experience. We’re definitely coming back. Huge thanks to Michael for sharing this incredible spot with us!
