Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards, shops and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat. New this year is our chicken coop and run. We (Bill) has always wanted chickens.

This spot is incredible! The rustic cabin is perfect for unwinding. Literally the dream, a peaceful spot in the woods. Tim is a super nice dude and way accommodating. The cabin has a lot of stuff that one may have forgot. Some games, some firewood, things for cooking, a little coffee maker. It was nice to take the family camping without hauling all the gear. The stay at the cabin was wonderful! You could hear the creek right outside the door. My kids and I were very comfortable in the space. Connie checked in each day and gave some really great suggestions for food. The outdoor shower was amazing, as was our impromptu lesson about solar electricity for my 9 year old son. Always plenty of firewood, plenty of peace, and plenty to explore. I would highly recommend this stay!

Dan and Bill’s place was the perfect home base for our Up North getaway! We explored Kalkaska, Eastport/Barnes Park, Bellaire and Charlevoix, then came back to beautiful sunsets and plenty of space for our 5-year-old to run around. They’ve truly thought of everything, from cold water and ice waiting for us to plenty of towels and all the little things you might need. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating, even checking on us after a rainy night to make sure the camper wasn’t leaking. (It wasn’t) We especially loved the balance of privacy with friendly faces nearby. We really enjoyed chatting with both Dan and Bill and felt completely at home. We’ll absolutely be back, and will probably bring friends next time!

I stayed in a cabin and it was so peaceful and relaxing I didn't want to leave. And Tim was the best. Being cannabis friendly was a big plus for me. I'll definitely be back.

1 night at Gray's Riverside Camp

We stayed in the yurt and it was very roomy. The only thing that could have improved the stay is a fan because it rained (luckily we stayed dry!) and it got sticky in the night with no air moving. The mattress topper is just a 3 inch foam so plan accordingly. It also has a bunk bed that could fit 2 kids if you’re considering a stay with kids. There’s a couple chairs and couches that made it roomy. We didn’t stay to enjoy the river but would definitely be back.

2 nights at Bear Woods Resort and Campground

The cabin and facilities were absolutely wonderful! The communal “bin” area was a really nice surprise; the bathroom and shower areas were very clean and modern, the self-checkout area and all of the goodies and drinks was a nice touch and the upstairs gaming area our family had so much fun at. The communal “outdoor” area was fantastic as well with the hammocks, gaga ball pit, teacher ball area and play structure. What an absolute treat all the way around!

Weekend Trip to Tree Huggers Haven

I just got back from an awesome stay at tree hugger. I cant say enough about this property. Perfect. Cabin was great, beautiful trails to hike and everything you could need for a peaceful relaxing weekend. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys getting away and enjoying nature. Todd is an excellent host. Will be back to visit again!

Weekend Trip to Private Rustic Pines- Dog friendly

We loved the seclusion of the rustic cabin! A perfect spot for a weekend getaway! The cabin was clean and comfortable and also came prepped with lots of goodies to assist! The extra lights helped a ton and so did having an area to set belongings, both inside and outside. Everything was easy to use and access. Great location being such a short car ride over to Lake Michigan! Would definitely stay again!
