This was a wonderful overnight trip with my three year old for his first camp-out. Julie and Madison provided excellent hospitality and communication. The animals were a big hit and we got to hold, feed and play with several of them. The grounds were well kept and the yurt was spacious and clean. Some really nice touches with the welcome basket, firewood on site and comfy camp chairs. And I can’t express how much I appreciate the cleanliness of the outhouse—especially with a toddler!

We had such a special two-night stay at Lucy the Yurt! It was our son’s first-ever camping adventure, so we opted for the comfort of a yurt, and it couldn’t have been more perfect for our little crew (husband, 4-year-old, doggo, and me). The grounds were beautiful and full of personality, from the spacious yurt and climbing wall to the welcoming farm animals and ultra-friendly cats. Our son was in heaven. He made multiple “bucket list” memories, including an unforgettable ride on a four-wheeler (with goat Cupid riding shotgun) to pick up firewood, thanks to the amazing Teresa. Although the weather turned unseasonably chilly, Julie came through with a propane heater and CO2 monitor, which kept us warm and cozy. The yurt was spotless, and we loved the thoughtful welcome basket stocked with s’mores fixings, Jiffy Pop, and sparklers. The kind of touches that turn a trip into a memory. We also appreciated the easy access to South Haven, nearby nature trails (Camp Pilgrim and Van Buren Woods), and the extremely chatty and hysterical farm animals. The chickens, goats, and pigs had us laughing, and the bullfrogs serenaded us each night. A quick note for light sleepers: there is a rooster and a few hardworking farm pups who take their job seriously, but it’s all part of the charm. Nothing disrupted our stay. We’d absolutely come back again!

1 night at Blooming Bus Farms

Host Melissa was very prompt answering questions during the booking process. Usually within 5 minutes. On arrival we were greeted with a custom welcome sign and the glamp site was clean and welcoming. Blooming Bus Farms is a slice of amazing wilderness/farm in the middle of town. Very unique and fun! It was my wife’s first camping experience of any kind, so I was worried she would be totally out of her element. Blooming Farms was just the right amount of camping to hopefully build on. Would definitely recommend to friends and family looking for a cool experience.

My son and I stayed at Blooming Bus Farms for two days and had such a peaceful and memorable glamping experience. The setting feels like you’re deep in the woods, but with all the comforts close by. Melissa was a great host—quick to respond and super thoughtful. We loved the warm shower, fresh towels, flowers at the campsite, and even a personalized welcome sign! The alpacas, the peaceful night scenery, and the mission of supporting at-risk youth added an extra layer of meaning to our stay. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Such a fun and relaxing visit! Titus has prepared the cabin so thoughtfully that if you forgot any supplies, he probably has them stashed away in a logical place, even down to skewer sticks and a grill brush hanging near the fire. The wood craftsmanship in each building was impressive and lent a lot to the atmosphere. The site was safe, clean, and full of chances to connect with nature and have fun. Thank you for the hospitality!

The property itself is nice but it’s next to a busy road so you’ll hear traffic all night. They stuck me next to a loud, old couple in an RV. There’s a lot of neighbors and two of them got into a screaming match at night. You’re close to the yurts so don’t expect quiet. Julie offered to move my tent when she saw how disappointed I was but I was tired after a long drive and there wasn't anywhere she could move me that wasn’t just as disappointing. I just wanted to make camp and go to bed. I paid for 2 nights but left early. I wanted quiet and seclusion. Julie was really nice about it and offered a refund but then her husband said no and was rude about it. It’s a nice spot if that’s what you’re looking for but I was really disappointed.

We absolutely loved staying in Lucy! My kids and I had the best time, and the experience by far exceeded our expectations. Julie made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. My dog even enjoyed meeting all the other guests. We enjoyed the farm tour and visits by the cats. The food was amazing and the shower felt like I was at a home away from home. I can’t thank them enough!

We had a nice relaxing few days at camp David. The generator will run electricity for a small satellite tv, which was nice when it rained one evening, and it will power a coffee pot that is available at the location for your use. It got down into the 40s at night, but the propane wall heater kept us toasty all night! We tried some fishing, but the water level was very low, only a few feet all the way across....still had a great time playing with our dogs in the river and relaxing in the sun by the water. Camp chairs and Adirondack are provided, as well as multiple comfortable swings! We cooked dinner on the grate that swings over the fire, and drank our coffee on the beautiful porch overlooking the river. We would definitely come back!

We had such a lovely time campping at Julie's place! The teepees were cozy and the cots were an amazing addition that saved our old lady backs. My wife and I felt so welcomed and comfortable, as did the rest of the group we traveled with. The campground was clean, the animals were cute, the people were nice. What more can you ask for?

Awesome experience. Very clean and excellent set up. The alpacas were very interesting to hang out with. At night time a lot of the property is lit up which makes for a fun time. Would highly recommend. Fyi Lehman’s orchard is very nearby and if travelling June 6th on they have fruit picking.

The location was breathtaking! At the top of the hill overlooking the lake! We even had a firework show! There was plenty of space for everything we brought. Very beautiful spot! She provided everything we needed! Bedding, utensils, lanterns, cast irons skillets……I definitely over packed! The host was very nice and responded to any questions I had very quickly! Very clean site! We will definitely be booking again!

For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie and Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and brush/wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

We are expecting our official season with events and all sorts of fun to kick off around Memorial Day but you are still welcome to camp out for a quieter stay in the meantime. Hostel SoHa is two 5,000 square foot buildings on 7 acres of private land in the process of being renovated into the first traveler's hostel in West Michigan. This summer, we are proud to announce we will be opening our first building with indoor pod-bed accommodations on May 15th. Not to worry, campers. There is still plenty of space for pitching tents, car camping, and even more amenities included with your stay. [Apirl 18th Update] Because we are still in the process of opening up a communal kitchen, a larger common area, an improved outdoor fire pit area, showers, and more there may be construction going on during your stay. This likely won’t be a disruption to your stay but we thought we’d give you the heads up. Also note, pictures on Hipcamp may not accurately reflect the space as we make these changes. We are located directly off M-43 and only a 5 minute drive to the beach; downtown South Haven; and Walmart, Aldi, and Meijer. We are also a 5 minute drive from the Kal-Haven trailhead and can help hikers and bike-packers arrange a pick up or drop off from there. The Bangor Train Station is a 12 minute drive and we can also help arrange pick up and drop off from there. This fun and central location is best suited for adults ages 18-35, but we welcome any adult looking for a more social and unique experience. Glamping at its best. This lot is at the highest point over looking the lake. This travel trailer sleeps 6. Made for children, the park offers a lake for fishing, boat rentals, beach, swimming pools, game room, mini-golf, kids activities, and more. Air conditioning when it is cold, heat when it is hot, stay dry on a rainy day, inside bathroom. Is this really camping? It is more like Glamour Camping; Glamping. Only 45 minutes from Chicago, and 10 minutes to the Indiana Dunes State Park. This is a nice travel trailer that has two bunk beds in the rear, a dinette and couch that converts to sleepers, and a front bedroom with a queen size bed. Sheets/blankets are supplied, clean towels for up to four people are provided. There is a fire pit, charcoal grill (you have to supply your own charcoal) and gazebo that you can use. Although you are on the lake, you do not have direct access to the lake. Parking is located on the grassy area across the road from the lot. The campground is between the highway and train, so you will hear both day and night with a lot of golf cart traffic. Guest must follow all campground rules, no refunds will be issued. What to expect lodging at Mustang Sally's: Mustang Sally's offers glamping sites, primitive camping sites and small camper sites. In the future, the plan is to add RV sites and full service cabin sites. The most common question is "What is Glamping?" Well, glamping is glorified camping. Glamping has real beds and other comforts of home but in the camping setting. Non-Glamping sites are available for tents, pop-ups, trucks & van camping. Motorhomes are not allowed at this time. The goal is by end of summer to have tree height cleared in main driveway to allow clearance for RV/Motorhomes. Currently there are no shower facilities as of May 2024. Outhouses are available. Mustang is currently working on what will be called "Bath Row" with the plan of them being finished by July 1, 2024. Bath row will consist of 10 restroom units. Each unit will have it's own private toliet, shower and changing area. Camp Fires are allowed within the fire rings provided at each camp site. Please keep them under control and make sure they are totally out before leaving the camp site. Check in time is 3pm EST Check out is 11am EST. Quiet time is 10 PM to 7 AM Trash cans are located throughout the park. Please tie trash bags completely closed and put your trash completely in the trash container. If the first can is full, please find another container. Please do not place your trash on the ground. Possums and racoons are attracted to left out or disposed of food and while we think they are cute and wonderful animals, we don’t want you to find a surprise in the night of a visiting racoon at your site because of incorrectly disposed of trash! Feel free to bring your own bike. Riding bicycles on our main entrance road is prohibited for the safety of your children and our incoming guests. You are able to ride them everywhere else on the property, just not the main driveway. Cancelling your reservation on the day of or within 7 days prior to arrival will result in no refund. Cancelling your reservation 8 to 14 days prior to arrival, you will be refunded half of your total stay. Cancellations 15 or more days will receive a full refund minus a $15 processing fee. There will be no refunds after you have checked in, for inclement weather, failure to follow the Rules & Regulations, or disorderly conduct. Manager/Owner reserves the right to have discretion on all refunds.
