Site 1 - The Campsite at Art Farm Fennville
Christine's property was a perfect respite for our group of four. The site was private from neighbors / busy roads, but very easy to get into town. Bathrooms, shelter, and grill access were huge perks especially on a semi-rainy weekend. The trails are beautiful and full of surprises. We'd love to come out again.

This was an A+ experience. We stayed in the premade tent which was awesome to sleep on a bed. We did a decoupage art work in the art barn. We really enjoyed exploring the farm sand talking with Christine our host.

Beautiful land. Christine, however, is a hostile host who met my polite questions about water and quiet hours with accusations, insults, and wild behavior, including lighting a joint and blowing it in my face. The dirty bong in the yurt must have been hers, too.
Christine's behavior was truly shocking given that the listing states she loves to host. She was aggressive and hostile from my first question which was simply to ask her if she was the host of the property. Telling me and my girlfriend that we should "watch our backs" made us feel unsafe here.
I'm a regular camper, and happy to rough it. But there were some major inaccuracies and omissions in the listing: toilet in barn is not private and is directly next to a shared kitchen space, potable water is from hose or tiny shared bathroom sink next to the toilet, there is no clean cooking/kitchen prep area or clean cooking supplies, and the communal firepit is used as the host's personal entertaining zone and very close to the yurt. It's also not safe to walk around the yurt island without extreme caution due to host's mess of garden tools, knives, saws, glass, drugs, and poison ivy.

Loved staying at Christine’s property, it’s such a peaceful setting. The biggest challenge was picking a spot, as every piece of the property was simply amazing. If you prefer privacy this spot is yours. If you don’t have your own camper, I liked how each campsite was uniquely set up, from belle tent, yurts, or even an Airstream.
And it’s close to Douglas and Saugatuck if you feel like some small town vibe.

The place is so unique with people i met there and Christine's warm caring for the needs of her guests. The atmosphere is fun and I left feeling like I experienced something as I was included in what was happening.

Christine was very responsive during the booking process and throughout my stay there. The property is gorgeous and I love the natural beauty of it all. I liked that she took the time to walk me around the property so we could find the best place that met my needs and could accommodate my 21 foot camper van. There are some soft spots on the soil so you have to be a bit careful of where you park. But overall loved my stay and will definitely be back in the future!

My partner and I LOVED this place, we will definitely be returning. The yurt was really cozy and a nice walk away from the barn. It’s connected to the area where they plant flowers and veggies -and surrounding it is water. The yurt is behind some trees on a little island so there’s a lot of privacy and Christine and her 2 neighbors were all doing their own thing. We’d chat with them when we saw them and everyone and their dogs were really kind and welcoming. We loved sitting by the fire area right by our yurt at night - the stars were super vivid!! We loved exploring the nearby small neighborhoods and bought fruit from the local farmer’s market. We checked out a HUGE vintage store nearby and my partner found a perfect filing cabinet! (They let us reserve it and scooped it up on the way out). In the barn you will find many of Christine’s art pieces (either in the works or completed), there’s a sign encouraging you to create as well with upcycled tools. Keep in mind the barn is open to the outside word so you eventually settle in with the little critters you see from time to time. The area also had a colony of bees when we were there and got to meet the beekeeper! She said those were her “nice bees”, and they were! When you’re close by they inspect you very quickly and communicate back to the others if you’re a threat or not. It was AMAZING watching the bees do their thing. As Chicagoans, this was the perfect ACTUAL commune space we needed.

Art Farm Fennville was the perfect location for my solo camping trip! I needed a quiet place to spend some time, and Christine provided just that. The farm is so cute and there are so many areas to explore! I would love to stay here again!!

I'm so glad I opted for a yurt instead of a tent the weekend I spent here. Christine's yurt on the private island was incredible! Absolutely beautiful scenery, herb garden right outside your door, and a cozy bed. What an excellent weekend!
Christine was such a warm and attentive host. She was very welcoming and helpful, while giving us plenty of space to enjoy her land. I can't wait to return here in the summer!
Helpful tips:
**Bring slippers to wear inside the yurt so you can leave your muddy boots at the door
**She has a large selection of DVDs in the yurt, so bring a portable DVD player if you want to take advantage of that
**Bring tick repelling bug spray because we did notice at least one while we were there

It was so nice to just show up and have pretty much everything ready to go to tuck into bed- very clean tent/bed, solar lights, very warm comforter (much appreciated on a very cold night!). Pretty much all you need for cooking in the little outdoor kitchen. Still think minimalistic camping/outdoor cooking experience but nice to have running water, soap, dishes, hot water pot. Very artsy and whimsical property- would love to see it in summer! Lovely free morning coffee, some extra snacks and tea set out. Nice to have a flushing toilet option. Thanks for the stay!

Christine is very friendly and helpful. The grounds are away from the crowds and it’s like having a mini safari (replace animals for trees and flowers). The stars at night are incredible with minimal light pollution, strongly recommend bringing a telescope for those clear night skies. Prepare to be self contained and enjoy nature at its best, I would love to come back (next time with a telescope!)

Stayed at Art Farm Fennville and absolutely loved it! The owner was amazing—super welcoming and friendly. The whole place has such a great vibe—creative, relaxing, and just a joy to be in. It’s the kind of spot that makes you instantly feel at home. I’ll definitely be back!

This is a lovely property, feels like the end of the earth but so close to Douglas and Saugatuck! Very hospitable and gracious host. Loved the sculpture tucked into hidden little spots, and the little islands feel magical. I parked my truck with rooftop tent towards the back of the property facing a peaceful meadow and felt like I was totally alone, a nice change from the state park campground vibe. I’d definitely return, and recommend to anybody looking for a quiet cute place to touch down, just a few minutes from town or that amazing beach at the Saugatuck Sand Dunes State Park. Indoor toilet is nice, the shower is a cold-only hose setup so plan accordingly.

We loved our time on the Art Farm! Christine was a pleasure to chat with, and our kiddo loved exploring the property, sleeping in the yurt, and making art in the barn. Short drive to tasty food and local attractions for when you want a change of pace. Highly recommend, would stay again!

I really enjoyed tenting at the Art Farm, I felt the calmness, bird chirping in the morning and the privacy was perfect. It wasn’t crowded, and the grass was mowed on the walking paths. Definitely would stay here again!

We loved camping here and will definitely be back! Christine was very welcoming and the place was unlike any place we’ve ever been before. It was so fun to explore and there was so much to look at. She provided everything you could possibly need to have a night by the fire, to fish, to cook dinner, to keep the kiddos occupied. 10/10!

Our stay at Art Farm was nothing short of magical, you can reallu feel the love here. Christine hosted our gathering of multiple families with little kids, she thoroughly exceeded our expectations and the hospitality was phenomenal—we felt right at home. Dinner cooked over the fire on the island while the kids rode around in the canoe at sunset. Breakfast in the sun with a sound bath and yoga., hot tea with mint from the garden. We even got to watch some traditional djembe drums be created by members of this incredible community! We'll be back, 10/10 recommend.

We loved staying at the art farm! Nice amenities for a tent campsite (outlets, flushing toilet, sink for dishes, communal camp furniture to be rearranged). Very private but close to Saugatuck/Douglas. The atmosphere was so unique and whimsical which definitely made this experience special. We would come back!
