Site 1, The Falls Site, is limited to 2 campers who must hike approximately 1/4 mile to the site from parking.
Site 2, The Garden Site, has vehicle access.
This 80 acres has been family-owned for almost a century and has not been cut in that time.
Many trees are mature.
The southern half is home to 8 charcoal kilns which employed a community prior to ownership. The mountain is approximately 1.8 billion years old.

The hike from parking to tent site is 1/4 mile on a well-marked hilly path.

These isolated sites are beautiful and rustic and nestled in the midst of the Noquemanon Trail Network (cross country skiing and mountain biking) and North Country Trails and are approximately 2 miles from Lake Superior, Harlow Lake and Dead River.

40 acres well off the beaten path. Approximately 6 miles off of State Hwy M-94. A two track will lead you back to 40 acres of undeveloped land containing a variety of pine and poplar. Our private property borders State and Federal Forest land that contains an overwhelming amount of two track roads to explore Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The sky is unobstructed from trees leaving the stars to be enjoyed all night long. A section of the Stutts Creek flows through the property where you can enjoy a quiet morning listening to the water flow and the occasional rise of a brook trout feeding. Deer, Turkey, Grouse, Bears and Wolves are all found in our area and are often photographed by visitors. Please practice safe food storage due to a healthy bear population in the area. You're welcome to set up a campfire wherever you camp, please practice fire safety and adhere to state and county burn bans that may be in effect. Once you arrive you are free to set up camp wherever you want. This is primitive camping so come prepared to enjoy nature at its finest. There is no bathroom so plan accordingly. The property is less then an hour from Lake Superior and the heart of downtown Munising and about 30 minutes North of downtown Manistique. A GPS app such as OnX will help you navigate property lines and show you all the water bodies in the area you can enjoy. The road is generally fine for 2wd but 4 wheel drive is recommended when there is rain or snow in the forecast. Our property is fairly remote which will give you a unique experience. This was one of our favorite camp spots! Perfect location for exploring the Porcupine Mountains and also taking walks along the beach. There are so many special touches provided - kayaks, canoe, hammock, firepit, chairs, picnic table and a flush toilet! We loved it here.

The Garden site at Possum Creek was perfect. It was gorgeous with the stream and Hogback right there. The site itself was nicely cleared yet tucked in. Shawn was a great host...friendly, helpful yet respectful of our wanting to find a little stillness. His directions about points of interest were spot on, including the rock-solid brew pub! Will certainly come back.

Weekend Trip to Possum Creek Campground
Loved the location! Just far enough into the wilderness to have the right "feel", yet close enough to town for anything Marquette offers. Warm, comfortable cabin with a wonderful, old northwoods character and rustic charm. Wish we could have stayed for a week.

We had a wonderful time at Beach Camp! We were in a tent, so loved the flushing toilet! The road is close, but we found the convenience of it well worth any noise we may have heard. There is a full tree line between the camping area and it, so you can’t see the cars, only occasionally hear them when at the campsite - never by the beach. The beach area is to die for. So close to camp and just a haven.

This is the most beautiful and serene location along Lake Superior! There are kayaks, bikes, and corn hole available for use, but it’s also a great place to sit and relax on the beach and enjoy the lake. The bathroom was very clean and water pump convenient. Doug and April provided a lot of great information prior to my arrival to be sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I would recommend this camp site in a heartbeat!

If you have a trailer or stay in the cabins you will have a great time! The sites are very exposed for tent campers and the jake brakes from the nearby highway can be bothersome at night. The property and bath houses are top notch and the staff at the store are friendly and helpful.

Words can’t describe how amazing this place is. Peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful. It’s a bit of a trek with camping gear from the parking spot, but completely worth it. Shawn offered to help take things in and out with his ATV, but we were stubborn and did it ourselves.
We set up a hammock over the creek and spent a few days exploring and relaxing. Really, nothing could have improved this place. No phone service down at the camp spot was fantastic (some may disagree, but we needed to disconnect).
If you want a secluded, peaceful place to unwind, it really doesn’t get much better than this. Thanks for sharing Shawn!

You couldn't ask for anything more from this camping spot. Sandy beach, shallow water perfect for swimming, crashing waves to lull you to sleep... And the amenities make it so easy to use. Between the electric hookup, the water hookup, and the flush toilet, you really have everything you need whether you're in a pop-up camper like we were, or a tent, or even a big rig.

My friends and I chose Possum Creek for our annual camping trip this year, and needless to say we will definitely be back in the future!
Shawn was immensely helpful and kind - from taking time to guide us to the campsite, providing directions and suggestions for sights to see on and off the campsite, and checking in on us to make sure we had the necessary provisions to make our trip successful - Shawn is the best!
The site itself could not have been more perfect! It was extremely well maintained and had plenty of things to see. It was just a couple minutes from town, which made it easy for us to pick up any last minute necessities, but also secluded enough for us to have a calm and quiet weekend.
We found plenty of trails to hike very close to our campsite, all of which offered breath-taking views and plenty of opportunities for photos.
