Llama Meadows Farm is a sixteen acre organic fruit and vegetable farm. We're a family peace farm. We have quiet time from 11 pm until 7 am. We have several games- bocce ball, badminton, frisbee, and a soccer ball.

We have our pup Jazzy Bear on the site, who's the Hostess with the Mostest.
When the campsite is full, we do a group bonfire where everyone is invited to get to know each other.

Located in Beautiful Benzie Country, in Northwestern Lower Michigan. We are one mile south of Crystal Lake and six miles east of Lake Michigan. Our-house is super insulated and passive solar. We had llamas for their wool and manure.
We retired from raising llamas, we had 12 they got old and moved on. We have around 50 fruit trees. The fruit we grow includes apples, pears, figs and paw paws. We also grow grapes, and kiwis, we also put in filberts, walnuts and pecans. We have a beautiful labyrinth peace garden.

We have firepits at each campsite, dry firewood is available to purchase, feel free to pay by cash, Venmo or CashApp, cost is $15.00 a wheelbarrow and can be found by the wood burning stove under shelter. Fresh flowers bouquets are available to purchase seasonally at our Floral Stand & Market. We have local NON GMO Pasture raised eggs $5 a dozen, Sourdough Bread $10, organically grown garlic, peaches, scones & fishing lures & our Guest Book! An outhouse is available for use and is supplied with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. There is a garbage can and recycling bin near the outhouse. We installed a water hydrant close to the flower bed near the wood pile so you can get potable water to bring back to your site, or hose off with on the spot. A scenic small creek runs by many of the campsites.

We have a small chicken farm that we’d love to share with you — whether you’re passing through for a night or staying a few days to enjoy the local attractions. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire Bluffs, Traverse City, Glen Arbor, Lake Ann, and much more are all within a 10–30 minute drive, depending on where you’d like to go.
There are no water, electric, or sewer hookups, but potable water is available from the outdoor house spigot. A porta potty is provided on-site for your use and is equipped with hand sanitizer.
You’ll find several roadside stands nearby selling baked goods, local produce, meat, cheese, flowers, and more. A small store about 2 miles away carries basic necessities.
There are exterior cameras on property to monitor home and chicken coops.
There is a dog on property that loves attention and thinks everyone that visits is just coming to see him! Please don't feed him any human or doggie snacks!
There are many beautiful lakes and trails in the area for kayaking, boating, fishing, and swimming.

The SOL Homestead is a small but growing homestead with a focus on community. We raise chickens, ducks, pigs and cattle on pasture.
The property is rolling acres with hardwood, pine, brush and open land with several miles of mowed trails. The terrain makes is very private and secluded, not a building or road (other than the driveway) is visible from the campsite. Wildlife abounds with regular sitings of deer, turkey, bald eagles, redtail hawks, grouse, pheasant, songbirds, and the list keeps going. The stars explode overhead when the sun drops behind the hills.
The farm is over the hill and through the woods, you might occasionally hear a rooster crow, but otherwise you won't even know we are there.
Located a short 20-25 minutes south of Traverse City, all the area attractions including Old Mission Peninsula, Leelanau Peninsula, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Manistee River, wineries, fishing, boating and countless other attractions. The Kingsley Farm Market on Wednesdays from 3:00pm to 7:00pm is a fun local event featuring great local farmers and often live music.
We are currently offering one basic/rustic campsite, on a large flat(ish) site with picnic table and fire ring. There will be a Porta John for a toilet (May-October) and no access to water or electric at this time. There is plenty of room for any type of camper or several tents. If there is enough interest, we plan to add several more campsites and perhaps a glamping site, water, electric, and an outdoor shower in the future.
Included with each stay is a rack of seasoned firewood and one dozen farm fresh eggs. Other farm products may be available upon request, you never know what might be ready in the garden!

We had a good time playing with the yard games and our spot was so pretty with all the trees and land behind us. To tol it off the hosts where incredible. So friendly and accommodating. This place is a steal for the price. We want to come back!

I had a wonderful week playing around Northwest Michigan - made all the better by staying at the Okon Farm. My RV site was tucked in by the barn, gardens, and mature trees, giving it a peaceful, private feel and making it a great little home base for exploring the area.
Michael showed me my site and Fay brought me oatmeal cookies and fresh tomatoes - a pretty wonderful way to be welcomed to the farm!
But the highlight of my stay was definitely Goodie Goodie, the resident farm cat. She quickly decided my Airstream was worth adding to her daily rounds and would make herself at home on my step. If I didn’t notice she’d arrived, a soft meow took care of that. Obviously, Goodie took her hosting duties - the lovely creature quickly became my little camping buddy.
The location was great for exploring too. I was within 35-50 minutes of mountain biking (Palmer Woods Forest Reserve, Arcadia Dunes), Sleeping Bear Dunes, the scenic M-22 drive through the quaint little harbor towns (with my favorite being Glen Arbor, for lunch and gallery perusing). There’s also Traverse City if you need a bigger town.
A peaceful, welcoming place, a great location, and one very memorable farm cat. I miss you, Goodie Goodie!

Beautiful place but the sites are very narrow, some neighbors were finding it difficult to park their car on their lot. For the price we paid to be on the river this should be changed.

Very welcoming and peaceful setting! Betty was a gracious host to me and my kids. The site has everything you need. Groceries are 5 min away if needed. Recommend for a quiet camping experience.

We loved our stay at Camp MoonShadow!! The site was clean, plenty of wood and kindling, easy access to so many surrounding towns and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Hot water for the showers was amazing as well! We will definitely be back!

The facilities were over the top! The “bin” as they refer to it is a self serve mini store with snacks and novelties for sale using the honor system. Very nice shower and laundry facilities. The owners have put quite a bit of money into this operation and it shows! I would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful time, except for the first night of rain. Fortunately, our gracious hosts not only provided firewood, but they also kept it covered! The campsite was filled with fun activities, including ladderball, horseshoes, and volleyball. Their location is also very convenient to reach Lake Michigan, Traverse City, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and many other wonderful locations.

The camp balanced a primitive camp feel with all the luxuries of glamping including clean bathrooms, shower house and kitchen. Minutes from beaches that rival the Caribbean and cute small towns such as Empire, Frankfort and Glen Arbor this was a perfect home base for an amazing introduction to Michigan. Rob was also especially kind in checking in without encroaching on privacy. We had the RV site and set up our tent on a wooden platform that kept us dry and on level ground. Top notch!

Wonderful experience and so peaceful. Clean camp ground, kind staff, clean bath houses. A nice gem I would recommend to anyone. The pool was clean and refreshing. Playground was great for the kids! Laundry units were newer and plenty of them too!

This was my second stay at Moonshadow and, once again, it did not disappoint. Robb and Jeanne are gracious hosts and this spot is such a treasure. There's plenty of firewood and even kindling to help it along. I enjoy the special attention to detail. The outdoor kitchen is so tranquil. I love the soul of this place.

Unfortunately, dude to a mouse issue in our camper, we had to cancel the evening before our trip from Grand Rapids to Benzonia for the weekend. BUT, my band was playing a gig at 5 Shores Brewery just minutes from the campsite that evening, which Betty knew about. So, even though we had to cancel the camping trip, Betty still came to our show and said hello, danced with friends, and was incredibly sweet. We’re already scouring the calendar for a date to reschedule as the site looks amazing and the host simply could not be more wonderful. Thank you, Betty!
