Our stay at Dom's Moon in the Pond farm was ideal. The cabin was cozy and comfortable while the screens successfully kept the bugs out. The property is bucolic with adorable cows, lambs, chickens, etc. We pre ordered the spicy sausage with fennel along with other farm fresh foods - which were delicious. It was the perfect home after a long day of swimming and hiking. Would definitely come again!

Weekend Trip to Sunflower Retreat

What an amazing and serene place! Just Be was perfect for my sister and I as we were passing through before Green River Festival the next day. Stacey was incredibly accommodating/kind and we enjoyed our stroll through the gardens and watching sunset on our long walk in the evening. Can't wait to come back.

2 nights at Container Building Farm Stay

We loved our container stay! Hosts were very hospitable and generous. The place was so clean and the kitchen was well equipped! The grounds are beautiful and in a perfect location in the woods and grassy farmland. Lots of hikes, swimming holes, and towns nearby, definitely want to come back!

This was my second stay at this wonderful property. However this time we stayed in the new cabin which was super nice and tastefully set up. The cabin is very close to the showers which are also very nice and modern. The bed here is very comfortable. But I'd say the sofa, which flattens out, is not very comfortable for an adult. small kids probably won't care! All in all a very pretty property and close to a quaint town of Hillsdale for your needs.

I loved staying at the kuti for a night! It was my first time camping totally solo and I felt very safe and secure at this spot. The land is beautiful, and I appreciated the things that were provided (picnic table, paper/matches for fire building). I got some awesome herbal products and eggs from the farm store. It was so quiet and peaceful at night. The composting privy was very neat and clean. It was perfect for a solo camp, and I could see it also being nice for a couple, parent-kiddo, or close friends. It felt spacious for just me but would definitely be tight quarters for more than 2 people. I’d love to come and stay again!

Weekend Trip to The Deer Crib at Flat Rock Farm

Deer Crib was a wonderful cabin to escape to. We were comfy and cozy the whole stay. Everything was easy to use and easy instructions were provided upon arrival. The spot feels private and secluded and really allowed us to disconnect from the craziness of daily life and just relax. We took advantage of the binoculars to spot some birds, and the grill to cook up a warm meal. The wood stove was also a welcome amenity to stay extra warm as the night got colder.

Great spot nestled in the Catskills back country... the property and accommodations are ace, but the real treat is the king of the castle, the host with the most, Mr. P... he made sure everything was safe and everyone was warm and happy. Kids had a blast hiking around the woods and it was just really nice to be with and connected to nature. Couldn't have asked for more... especially on such short notice. Thanks again for everything, will be back for sure... Til then, keep on keepin' on...

This tiny cabin is a wonderful spot if you need some quiet time to reflect, meditate (zafus were provided!), read, or write. It's well maintained and clean with great views of the woods, ample light, and privacy (even with no leaves on the trees). Using the wood stove was simple and the bed was super comfy! The cabin is also very close to DAR State Forest and other trails if you want to get some hiking in. Highly recommended!

The Campsites at Oak Lodge are located on an historic property in Palenville, New York which once hosted vacation cabins, lodge, and a tavern before it was turned into a private home. It now offers a camping experience in a wooded area with mature trees, but close to several amenities in the hamlet of Palenville. It has easy access to the main road. Each campsite includes a generous space to pitch your tent and a fire pit. There is a communal area shared by both the Bluebird and Barn Owl campsites with a picnic table, drinking water, a small gas grill, hammocks, and a fire pit with Adirondack chairs. There is an outhouse and wash-up area for all campers. The two acres provide both a wooded area and a large grassy space. Although set back far from the road, you will hear some vehicle noise and there are nearby streetlights. Oak Lodge is one mile from Catskill Park trails leading to the wilderness area including North and South Lake. It is between sections 22 and 23 on the Long Path. You are a mile to a wine and spirits shop, and a quaint but hip general store that offers breakfast and lunch. There is a one bedroom cottage also available for rent on AirBnB. See “The Acorn” at Oak Lodge in Palenville, NY. When visiting: 1. Park near the entrance of the main house and use the wagon to bring your gear to the campsite. (Do not park close to the little cottage attached to the rear of the house as there may be guests there.) 2. There are wild animals in the area (raccoons, possums, bears, deer, fisher cat), so be sure to store your food far from your tent (preferably in your car). 3. Potable water will be in a very large igloo thermos at the communal area. Water for washing up is available near the pit toilet. 4. Bring your own toilet paper, soap, etc. 5. There is firewood and kindling available for sale on site. Be sure all fires are completely extinguished before going to sleep. 6. We appreciate you not leaving any garbage, but if you are unable to take it with you, there is a garbage can at the main entrance of the house. Do not leave any garbage at the campsite. 7. Moon In The Pond Farm

Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a bit of heaven. There are separate sites to choose. Around the farm, you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be in a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, others are on the edges of different farm fields, one a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, gavel-road and country-road biking, and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is a cultural mecca, there are also numerous opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.
