Turtle Ridge farm is 35 acres of scenic beauty in historic Chester County, Pennsylvania. Secluded and private. Hiking and fishing available. Turtle Ridge Farms borders the Brandywine River and about 1,000 acres of woodland park. We try to be a unique host farm experience. We will have contactless check in available upon arrival. Campers will fill out the registration form on the front porch and then go to their site. A note about fishing. Fishing is available in the Brandywine River behind our farm, in Hibernia Park, at Springton Manor catch and release pond, and also at Chambers Lake in the park. 35-acre bucolic farm with goats, sheep, chickens and geese. Sites are near our one acre pond and each site has a fire pit. Our farm borders the 1,000-acre Hibernia Park with its historic mansion, extensive woodlands, hiking trails and along the beautiful Brandywine river. Lots of wooded areas, trails, rock outcroppings and beautiful scenery. The entrance to the park is through our farm gate near Site 2 and then down a trail. There is an indoor powder room with flushing toilet and sink for campers to use and a small camp shop. Wood is available for purchase. We are located 5 minutes from the hospital, 10 minutes from grocery stores, 30 minutes to Amish country and Longwood Gardens. Hopewell Furnace, St. Peter's village, Daniel Boone homestead, Historic Springton Manor, Marsh Creek Park and lake are all nearby. Movie theaters are a 30 minute drive. Putt Putt Mini-Golf and Bowling are 14 minutes down the road into Oxford, PA. Willet Family Farm

The tallest structure on our farm is the windmill, constructed in 1874, and it quickly became the logo for our farm because a windmill is something that harnesses power for a specific purpose. For many generations, the windmill harnessed the power of the wind to grind grain or pump water, but now in the 21st century, Willet Family Farm hopes to harness the power of the outdoors to benefit every guest that comes to visit. The Willet Farm survived many hardships including The Great Depression, the 1999 tornado that destroyed the barn, and cancer that claimed the life of family members too early. In 2006, The farm had to be sold outside of the family, but in an effort to honor past generations and preserve the heritage of what the farm stood for (faith, family and hard work), Jeremy and Kathleen Willet purchased the farm back in 2017. The 13 acre farm is perfectly located in the middle of over 200 acres of farmland owned by parents and cousins. Since that time, we have welcomed over 200 guests from 10 different states and 2 different countries! We raise free-range chickens, board horses and are a Renewable Energy Farm completely powered by the sun through a comprehensive solar design on our barn.

Every year in the spring there are 4-6 Thoroughbred foals born that eventually will become racehorses. They live on the farm until they are 2 years old and then they go off to begin their racing career. In the daytime, when you are not sitting around your campfire, you can walk the fence lines and visit with the Mares and Foals or just watch them frolic in the fields. Hint!
