the cabin is in winter mode and has limit water, please bring all the water you need. if you forget or need more the can supply water when we are available to do so. Our cabin is an off grid (very limited power, now way to charge or plug in AC devices) post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

This rule of 500 feet distance also applies to camping cars and caravans. If you want to stay for more than two nights in the same place, you must ask the landowner's permission, except in the mountains or very remote areas. Well, we've taken care of all those Allemannsretten rules for you. We invite you to our small part of the world and encourage you to exercise your right to roam. We purchased this land a few years ago when our neighbors decided to sell. It abuts our property They used it as a place for their family to gather and camp on during Maine wonderful summer season. It is a beautiful, quiet spot with a great view and a small pond. Hipcamp lets us share this spot and helps pay our property taxes.We are located in the western mountains of Maine in a summer community on Porter Lake. There is a beautiful view of New Vineyard mountain from our 3 acre field. We have 2 trailer sites with power and water (non potable) and an out house. The field has several fire pits and soft grassy spaces for pitching tents. The camping area is fairly private from our neighbors along the road. The site has a small private pond surrounded by trees you can sit and relax near. You can (walk/bike/drive) the 1/4 mile down the dirt road to the public beach. The beach has a public dock, boat ramp, swim float, picnic tables and grills. Paddle out to the island and try the rope swing with one of our kayaks or canoes. Be sure to check out the bald eagles that live in the white pine tree just a little farther down the island. You will hear the loons during your stay and possibly see a mother with her babies on her back. There are also ducks and ducklings and geese with gosling paddling about the lake. The state stocks the lake with trout, splake, and salmon if you like to fish. There is plenty to do right here!

Michelle's cabin was a great spot to stay overnight, she was communicative and clear with directions and always easy to get in touch with. The cabin was quaint, cosy and fit 3 people without a problem, the outhouse and shower were clean and super helpful, too - definitely would stay again!

Weekend Trip to 100 Mile Wilderness Cabin

This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

Weekend Trip to Raven's Rest Tiny Cabin

This is the best hipcamp site I've seen so far. We have stayed here 4 or 5 times and will definitely return. My son asked to spend his birthday here this year. There is a wood stove, comfortable beds and even a little electricity for lights. It is very private and quiet. It is well kept and tidy. Dogs are welcome.

I had a nice stay here. The privy was clean and it's only 30-40 minute drive from Bangor. The sites are on a slight grade of a hill but it isn't that bad and they each have a fire ring and picnic table with a trash can.

It was a really great stay and super quiet. Walmart is 30 minutes away and the privy is one of the cleanest that I've seen and it has an led light. The communication was crystal and I highly recommened this spot!

This is one of those rare finds that you don’t want to leave. Our campsite was on a grassy knoll overlooking the river/lake and surrounded by acres of lawn. We could watch the water from our bed. Just beautiful. My husband enjoyed a chat with the owner and got some of the history of the place. Our dog was in doggy heaven.

Weekend Trip to Camp Streife

My husband and I stayed for the weekend and had such a relaxing time. You’re truly alone (aside from a neighbor going by a couple times a day, but that wasn’t a big deal. If anything, it was comfort just in case any emergencies happened.) It was incredibly peaceful with the sound of the stream. A beautiful walk up to a gorgeous pond with a small mountain in the distance. Nice campfire with a grate that swivels for cooking over the fire. The platform you can set your tent up on was fantastic! The site would be a great spot for star gazing because of the lack of light pollution, but it was cloudy every night for us. We will most certainly be back!

Well appointed with all one needs for a multiday stay. If considering a stay during colder months, don't hesitate. The wood stove did the trick and there was more than enough wood. Most impressive was Paul's hosting, maintained contact throughout...very helpful. We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Howling Goat Farm and Grange

While I didn't personally get to enjoy my overnight stay here due to unforeseen circumstances with my car, Ashley was responsive and also very helpful with my campsite. I was able to get in without any issues, as the instructions were very clear. When my car broke down on the way to a hike after I had set up my campsite, Ashley was willing tear everything down and store it off to the side for me. I am very grateful that there are still good people in the world, and just based on this experience with Ashley, I would highly recommend staying here!

John’s place was absolutely beautiful. The fields, the fall foliage, the autumn light filtering through the trees, the breeze blowing off the river—heaven on earth. Our dog was able to run around, we were able to step away from work, and the kids were able to enjoy the natural surroundings. We can’t wait to come back!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at tiny house. The home has windows on every wall, taking advantage of it's beautiful secluded spot in the woods. The hosts were not intrusive, but were quick to respond to my questions. There's generous amounts of firewood on the property and the bench near the fire pit is at the perfect slant for stargazing. Would definitely return..

What a gorgeous site this is! Choose between two awesome cabins or campsites. You cannot go wrong with any of them. Dale Cabin is well equipped with a stocked kitchen, desk, stove, and bed. I really loved having a fire by the water. My dog loved the trip too!
