Sunflower Ranch is the name of our home and property. Not only is our cozy, modest house sunflower yellow but in August it is surrounded with sunflowers of all sizes. We share our property with a flock of sweet hens and ducks.....and a few bossy roosters. Eggs are available for purchase if needed. There is a little greenhouse with herbs, greens and strawberries. The field is also an apple orchard that mostly feeds the wildlife. The tent site is privately placed in our cove unseen from the house. We wanted to offer a site that we would enjoy as well and feels like it is in a world of its own. We spend all of our free time outside, camping and paddling the local rivers and lakes. Tommy and I can recommend many beautiful remote Maine adventures for you to experience that are located off the grid and away from all other humans. The sweet city of Ellsworth is only 7 miles away for all of your provisions and Otis General Store is 1 mile away.. they have everything to get you through plus beer, wine, ice and homemade pizza. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time) which has clear water and a sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . Great fishing, loon watching, eagles and herons. Enjoy paddling and exploring right from your tent site. Bird watching bliss! Very peaceful and quiet. Canoe or 2 kayaks included.

Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

Legend has it, an ancient Egyptian tribe crossed the Atlantic in search of lobster and good times. Arriving in Maine, they erected a tribute to their ancestral home in the form of a pyramid. Inside the pyramid you will find these mysterious nomads spared no expense recreating the authentic aesthetic of Giza . Archeologists were mystified to find that these travellers added solar power, a tv with netflix and the usual apps, a kitchenette and outdoor shower. A comfy double size bed is found in one corner while a bistro table makes a great place to have a feast or get some work done. A short walk to the river reveals a great fishing, kayaking and swim spot. Egyptians soon learned that swimming meant carefully wading into the water and finding the perfect rock to sit on and drink fermented yummies. The always perfect water is always warm yet refreshing. Nearby, the 95 diner is a great casual spot for breakfast or lunch and the Handystop has great pizzas/subs or grab some fantastic meats and veggies and use the large weber grill outside the pyramid for bbq-ing.

The Anchorage is a 4-acre cabins and motel property located approximately 0.5 miles south of Lincolnville, ME. This historic property has been operating for over 100 years. Recently purchased by my wife and me, it is currently undergoing a rebranding and remodel. At present, there are 4 small cottages available to rent, along with plenty of parking space for smaller RVs and vans. Cyclists passing through are welcome to reach out—we’re happy to accommodate tent camping as well. Services such as showers are limited at this time. It’s year-round great for ice fishing snowmobile trails right out your door. You can get onto the ITS trails or come and snowshoe. It’s the best place to do photography! Note: Private, right-of-way to lake At Country Living Rental, you will walk down to the third driveway on the left, that is the entrance to the lake. This is your private area. We had such a wonderful time on Tina’s property! The tiny home as extremely clean and tidy, and had everything you could possibly need for a weekend away! The way she had everything laid out (from towels, to coffee, extra books, kayaks etc) was so thoughtful. The area down by the water is so peaceful and we went on a nice kayak ride. I would 1000% stay again!

We were pleasantly surprised by this adorable, well-kept tiny house! The area is beautiful, the lake is a short walk away, and the kayaks were a fun addition to the trip. Tina was a wonderful hostess. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay to get away if that's what you are after, but with many things to do nearby!

I really enjoyed my stay in the Tut Hut and would've stayed longer if I could! It's a cute, cozy space, and quirky in a really fun way. It's easy to access while feeling remote, well-appointed with enough homey comforts that it barely feels like roughing it, and the host was responsive, friendly, and helpful. The quick walk through the woods to the gorgeous riverside is what makes it a really special location, and I immediately fell in love with the spot - having my coffee by the water while watching the eagles fly was about as peaceful and restorative a morning as I can imagine. I would happily go again.

What really stood out was the peaceful setting. Just a few steps from the cabin is a private platform right on the lake, where we spent hours listening to the birds and soaking in the calm, natural beauty. It’s the perfect place to unwind. Tina’s attention to detail and her friendly, caring nature turned our vacation into something special. The property offers a perfect balance of privacy, comfort, and convenience—all at a very affordable price. It truly felt like a home away from home. The house itself is small but so cute. It had everything you could need to cook with, no need for chairs, towels or bedding. Tina was so accommodating and has cute seating areas in every spot you'd love to sit and take it in including the water. We had a great time here. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had, and the pictures online were very representative of what the reality of the place was. Location felt off the beaten path (which we wanted) but the grocery store was only 15 minutes away. The rental came with access to some kayaks and a really cool tent with everything you'd need. We had a wonderful stay. The cabin is surrounded by nature..saw birds, fox, frogs, snake, turtles. So peaceful. You can sit in the screen tent and enjoy your surroundings. Another seating area by the fire pit, plenty of wood cut and ready. Walk a short distance to another screen room on the pond, 3 kayaks, binoculars, towels, life jackets, seating, dock. This was the location for snake and fro, did not see until my daughter went looking. . Turtle was meandering down the dirt road. The cabin is small, cozy, and so well put together. All you need for cooking, bedding, towels, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, outdoor grill is right there. We will definitely come stay again. Bring a good camera and binoculars. Market 5 miles down the road is an IGA grocery with a pizza and sub shop. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

3 nights at Salt and Oak Farm

I usually visit NYC for my birthday but this year I decided to try something completely different and this was the full 180 from NYC. Instead of waking to the honking of traffic, it was the beautiful sounds of birds (and the friendly roosters). Though it was cold, I went into this knowing to bundle up. I brought extra blankets and was plenty warm. As another review posted, I brought battery powered string lights and a few extra candles and loved reading in the cozy bed at night. We did go through a lot of wood so we bought another bundle. Sorry to the hosts for using so much wood and candlelight! The chickens were absolutely hilarious. They surrounded us every time we walked by. I loved the mellow horses and all of the other animals. It was difficult not to just hang out with them all day. We hiked around the land and went into town a few times. Everyone was so friendly. Highly recommend for nature lovers!
