Weekend Trip to Continuous Harmony Farm Camp

This was the first time my daughter and I went camping off of HipCamp app. Douglas' land was lovely with adorable sheep you sometimes have a surprise at surprising haha. The pond had frogs that would lull you to sleep as well. Very quiet and peaceful. 10/10 recommend. It's not too far from the lake or beach !

Michael was incredibly kind, responsive and communicative! Very open and spacious land, great for watching the stars at night. I would recommend to car camp or tent camp. Very off the beaten path- quiet, relaxing, peaceful. No frills and has a unique vibe since it is a quarry. I would definitely stay here again :) Be prepared to bring lots of bug spray!

Loved spending the night of Cheryl’s farm. Quiet and level location just minutes from the Maine turnpike. Great for long trips or a quick stop as you’re making your way further up north. Would definitely stay again!

2 nights at Rustic Retreat

Erica’s place was better than advertised and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Our main goal was to visit the Botanical Gardens which were an easy 1 mile bike ride away. We stayed 2 nights with a camper van & 2 tents and it worked out perfectly. Several good flat spots for RVs & tents. The communal kitchen was really well stocked and convenient especially when it rained to have a dry place for dishes and what not. It seems like they are working to add some more amenities beyond the nice outhouse & kitchen so I’m sure it will get even better. There is a rather tight turn off the main road onto the drive that would bother me if I had a big trailer. Excellent cell coverage with Verizon.

3 nights at Rustic Retreat

Great camp near many attractions like Botanical Gardens, great hiking at Boothbay Region Land Trust, swimming, shopping, dining and various boat tours. The camp is well maintained with fire pit (incl. grill), seating, lighting and an outdoor kitchen area. Erica was extremely communicative and helpful with local info, having grown up there. Heed her warnings re: rig lengths and I recommend u keep to the right when approaching the camping area. The left fork is a bit gnarly. Also beware there are some decent size rocks which can be a problem depending on ur clearances. I shall return.

1 night at Egypt Acres

Beautiful, calm, and safe. Great for solo car life/vanlife in the area. Not very much public parking, and this is so beautiful that it’s a win/win. Michael was also a very nice guy. Everything went really well.

Weekend Trip to Continuous Harmony Farm Camp

The site along the pond was very picturesque. There were other campers but noise was not an issue at all!! The host recommended a great hike to an amazing view spot. The animals were fun to see walking around and the fireflies at night were fun to catch!

Weekend Trip to Rustic Retreat

This was the perfect spot for me to test out the little camper I had just purchased. It was close to town in case I needed anything but completely private at the camp site. Erica was very nice and let me choose my own place to set up. There were several spots to choose from. She let me know my dog could enjoy off leash time which was great because he's a puppy and loved sniffing everything. There was a nice fire pit with plenty of brush piles to keep the fire going and full water jugs on hand to put it out. I would definitely recommend this location for either the single remote camper or a group b/c there was a nice area that would fit several campers in a round open field area. Thank you Erica for sharing your piece of paradise.

Weekend Trip to Woodland hide-away, basic

It’s a great site because it’s quiet and in the woods. There’s even a hammock and a flat platform for a tent. I slept in my truck but it was perfect. Also, these hosts are good because they message you on the app when you arrive. I appreciate that so much. When you see the booey and the lobster trap it is left not straight down the atv trail. There is an arrow but I missed it. So the gps gets you straight there you will see a house on the right and a very large concrete pad keep going around the roundabout and you will see the site.

1 night at Rustic Retreat

This spot blew my expectations out of the water! I thought we'd be camping in a field but we were camping in a little oasis just outside of town. Erica was friendly and eager to give us the recommendations we asked for, and super accommodating for our very last minute booking. There were designated fire pits, a beautiful composting toilet outhouse and a small communal 'kitchen' area with a fridge and many kitchen supplies. So peaceful and just a few minutes down the road from town. I've already recommended this spot to my friends and hopefully will be back to enjoy it one day

1 night at The Howling Woods

Great spot for a Van Site. Brendan said he was in the process of fixing it up but with the table, fireplace, and angle you can place your van, it was a nice setup. Definitely a great launchpad for Acadia adventures, this side of the island being so much more quiet. Brendan was nice, communicative, and had tons of amenities on site.

The tent site on Tucker’s land was perfect! Tent platform, camp kitchen and wood shed were a nice added touch! We definitely will be back to enjoy it again.

This was such a great weekend with wonderful hosts. We are already planning to return in a couple of months. Such a beautiful, quiet spot by the river and Dusty and Annette were so hospitable and kind. The grounds were kept extremely well and honestly I could just go on. Excellent experience and highly recommend.

Learn more about this land: Private 1.5 acre field off of Staples Point Road, 3 miles from downtown Freeport, 1 mile to Winslow Park. Field is surrounded mostly by forrest, only non-drinking water provided from the garden hose at the entrance to the field. Water is shut off late October through the winter but the site is available. Whatever you bring in, you take out; garbage, human waste, etc. There is a camp fire with benches, plenty of fire wood and a luggable loo if needed.

The Queen's Property on Thomas Pond

THOMAS POND Thomas Pond is a beautiful 533-acre freshwater with miles of shoreline. Thomas Pond’s maximum depth is 64 feet, and the mean depth is 22 feet. Our guests are welcome to kayak, canoe, swim, fish, and paddle board from the shores of The Queen’s Property, or one of 5 Right of Ways on Watkins Shores Road owned by our Association. Access to your private waterfront is a short stroll through our woods. As our guest staying at The Queen's Property, you will also have free access to the Watkins Shores Road Association's boat launch. The boat launch is just a two or three minute walk down the road from your site. Our new dock is available to dock your boat during the day.. However, there is a small fee to dock your boat overnight (see "Extras") at our site. Just make sure you check for Milfoil or any other invasive plants before launching. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS NEAR CAMP Within 5 minutes of camp, you will find all the essentials, including food items, ice, firewood, goodies, gas, and RV supplies. In fact, you can even order your groceries online for pickup, (free at Hannaford Brothers Grocery and Walmart) either on your way to your campsite or when you need to resupply your camp (we would be happy to give you the details). During your stay, you may also want to take a trip off-site to explore all that the Lakes Region offers. Explore the historic oceanfront City of Portland, or the local Towns of Windham, Naples, or Bridgton. Portland is a 35 minute drive from The Queen's Property. The coastline around Portland is rugged and attractive with world-famous lighthouses dotted along its shorelines. Numerous locally owned shops and nationally recognized restaurants can be found tucked into its many harbors and shorelines. Closer to camp, enjoy strolling through the Town of Naples. Naples sits smack-dab in the middle of the Sebago Lakes Region. Sebago Lake abuts its western border and Long Lake abuts its eastern border. A short 8-minute drive from your site, Naples spoils its visitors with boat rentals, waterfront shops, and awesome restaurants. Further north is the Town of Bridgton. Bridgton is a 20-minute drive from your campsite. It offers its visitors a quaint downtown filled with local retailers, pubs, and restaurants. Enjoy the beaches of Bridgton’s Crystal Lake which sits on the edge of its downtown borders. The towns of Raymond and Windham also offer our visitors numerous restaurants, grocery stores, hardware stores, and gas stations. Once again, all within a short drive from your campsite (3-4 minutes). NEARBY STATE PARKS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES If your idea of exploring is centered around outdoor activities, then Sebago Lake State Park is a 1,342-acre park that abuts the shores of Sebago Lake. Within the park, you will enjoy protected forests, bike paths, and Sebago Lake beaches. Sebago Lake is a deep glacial lake, and by itself is 44 square miles of clear waters that abut Sebago Lake State Park. The park and the lake host some of Maine's’ best sandy beaches, water sports, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camping, picnic areas, boat launches, extensive woodlands, a wide array of critters, hiking trails, and walking trails. Sebago Park hosts various play areas for children with slides and swings. The summer sun is warm and the autumn colors are always abundant and beautiful. The entrance and parking lot are wheelchair accessible. If you are an avid hiker, The Queen’s Property is a short drive to numerous mountain ranges, forests, and peaks, all of which contain hundreds of miles of ATV and hiking trails. There are over 25 hiking trails within 10 miles of The Queen's Property and over 115 trails within 20 miles. Oh, and if you love winter sports you will love the Lakes Region.

Tucker N.’s land

Our cabin is an off grid post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

Learn more about this land: We are set high on the piney east bank of the Kennebec River. The view is of the setting sun over the untouched hillsides on the opposite bank or the rising sun illuminating and bringing to life that same hillside while you take your first peak of morning. The river rushes by, not a house to be seen. In the distance a loon frolics and sings out it's soulful call. Bald eagles soar over head, fishing, scanning the river valley. Owls hooting in the valley, come closer in the night to see who is still up. There is an echo in the darkness, works during the day too. The stars blaze overhead in the night sky, watch "satellites" track across heavens and the Aurora Borealis, if you are lucky and still up around the camp fire. It is here in front of our camp, where The Kennebec River continues to flow but begins slowing down, stacking up depth behind the Moscow Dam and turning into Wyman Lake, 14 miles of the most scenic boating or paddling you can imagine. 200 yards north of the camp, The Appalachian Trail crosses the river, watch hikers waiting for the famous canoe ferry crossing. Or, hike a section of the trail, Pierce Pond is a healthy 2 hr hike from the camp, to a pristine pond for a remote dip or some fishing. Bring that kayak or stand up paddle board, the river is fun right here, explore for an hour, a day or days. Whitewater rafting, kayaking and canoeing are huge in West Forks, (10 minutes North up 201, watch out for deer and moose) you'll paddle The Dead, The Kennebec and the Penobscot rivers, all the major tour companies are very local and there are cool bars and restaurants. You can tube down from the Forks right to the cabin in a couple of hours. We have a big Glamping tent on the property too, that is listed for rent separately on air bnb as The Duck Flashing Moose Glamping on the Kennebec, rent it too if you want the whole space for friends or the place all to yourselves.

There's also an extensive trail system for recreational vehicles of all types including but not limited to trucks, jeeps, ATV, UTV, snowmobiles ect. There's also a seaplane business that operates out of the boat landing on the campground. They offer scenic plane rides though the mountains and remote fishing trips on ponds that are normally inaccessible the normal foot traffic. Tickets can be purchased upon request.
