Located 30 minutes north of Acadia National Park, it’s an ideal base for exploring the mountains, woods, lakes, and rugged shoreline that define Downeast Maine. With nearly half a mile of river frontage, a stream, and over a mile of hand-cut walking trails, Arbor Camp’s thirty acres provide ample space to unwind without leaving the grounds. Two cabins and a treehouse sit in an open field with wide views of the river and its passing wildlife. The remaining treehouses are thoughtfully spaced across 25 acres of quiet forest, offering privacy and a sense of deep immersion in the trees. Many enjoy filtered river views through the canopy. Each season brings its own pleasures: temperate summer days and cool, starlit evenings; fall foliage and crisp air; the stillness of snow-covered woods in winter; and, in spring, a quiet reawakening as color and life return to the forest. Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land. We followed the path of an old roadbed to guide our layout, preserving as many trees as possible. Cabins and treehouses are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land. Wildlife is part of daily life here. This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access about 15-20 minutes south of Bangor. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. We have easily acomodated 20+ canpers at once (6-8 groups), though typically you might be the only group here. Car camping, van life, and RVs are welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available at the RV posts and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RV parking may need to be arranged with myself. For RVs, Electric hook up is 30amp and an extra $10/day. Water hook up is $5/fill. Chopped, split, and dried wood (pine) is available included in your Hipcamp fee! You can burn what you need for the day/night. Thank you. Wilderness Glamping 200’ hill 22 acres off grid wooded area beautiful views of Mountains, Stream, Britton Prospect with traces of gold, silver and copper, trails around the Balsam Hill. ATV and Snowmobile Trails come right to Balsam Hill Cabins. The Cabins are right on the old Stagecoach Road that is 220 years old. We just fixed Old County Road to the Cabins. We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge Find us on YouTube videos of wild animals and campground area 😊 A-Frame Cabin 10’by10’, private, fire pit, benches, picnic table and hammock. The Cabin is 75’ from Old County Road and 200’ from the parking area. A cell phone booster is at the campground which works good and runs all the time and no wifi or power at the cabins off grid. Shower is located at the cabins. We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge and we just fixed the Old County Road and the parking area and the road is settling from being fixed but low cars have been making into the parking area with no problems. The paths are primitive and not suited for people who have trouble walking on uneven ground. We provide solar lights, propane stove, propane, natural bug spray, battery bank charger, 1 small bottled water per guests and sleeping bags. Heat provided from Oct 1 to April 30. No Out of State Maine Firewood. No water at the shower from October 15 to April 30 because of the frost.

We enjoyed this camping place very much. Michael welcomed us and showed us the way to the spot. He is still working the land but our spot was great. Nice fire pit, picknick table and a great view. The sunset was spectacular and stargazing as well.

This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

Great spot! Lots of details thought of with the firepit grill and utensils including marshmallow roasting sticks. Loved the counter and mushroom stools! Wouldn’t feel comfortable in windy weather just due to the shallow rooted trees- but it’s a beautiful spot! Reminded me of camping on the Olympic peninsula.

I loved being so close to the water on Daniel's land. The tide receded and we got to explore the rocky shoreline. The proximity to Bar hHarbor and Acadia National Park was an added bonus but by far the best part was meeting Daniel and his mother. They were very kind and gracious hostd and made us feel very welcome.

Evan is a very gracious host for sharing his space. My stay here was perfect. I slept in my tent near the apple tree with the large green apples and the deer were right outside my tent all night and everytime an apple hit the ground they would grunt and prance in excitement and I could hear them crunching down on the apples all night. It was cool to experience.
