Good Cellular signal. Good access road for your RV. The amazing views include Owl's Head lighthouse and Matinicus island in the very far distance, sunrise over Ragged Mountain and the Camden hills. To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure. Among the hidden gems you might find are the original homestead foundation, a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! Deer, wild Turkeys, Hawks, Owls and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. You may even stumble upon wild raspberries and blackberries, if they're in season. The small town of Union also hosts the Maine Wild Blueberry Festival. The Lobster Festival is nearby in Rockland every August. No other campers are visible from your site - so you get breathtaking beauty all for yourself - and those with you! Note: Part of the land is a working Wild Blueberry farm and as such, on rare occasions, the quiet is interrupted to care for the crop. Should that take place we will credit you with a free day's stay. Note: No Trespassing signs are posted for the farm operation - these Do Not apply to Hipcampers! Please drive past them through the open gate to the site. Pack in and pack out! The 2 dumpsters along the main road are PRIVATE and are camera monitored. The owners require a $50 fee for unauthorized use, so please don't use them without permission.

We enjoyed the beach, and I would highly consider coming back at a warmer time. The campsite we stayed at wasn’t as big as it looked in photos, so there was some maneuvering near the old house to fit our two tiny trailers. It was an hour to the main Acadia entrance, but so beautiful out there. If camping in tick season, bring spray and check your dogs. We were covered. Beach was 100/10.

This campground was the perfect place for us "home" during our fall visit to Acadia. We are a self-contained unit when we are on the road. That being said, it was nice to hook upto power and refill our water tank during our stay. It was also nice to have hot showers available. The campground was quiet at night. I slept well at night. The site was very close to all of the hikes on MDI. Some just down the road, trailheads no more than a 30 minute drive away. The site firm ground and fairly level. Perfect for our campervan. Being on the westside of MDI, it is away from the constant traffic that you face near Bar Harbor. We would recommend staying here.

Very scenic sites. Close to Acadia. LShowers and bathrooms were extremely clean and appeared brand new. Sites are close together. Our first night was not full so we had plenty of privacy. The second night we had fellow campers in very close proximity. Not a deal breaker, but something to know. The bathrooms, showers and location are hard to beat.

Beautiful private place with a 360 view of the mountains! Completely impressed by the stone picnic table! The turn is a bit hidden so drive very slowly — we reached the top of the mountain and had to turn around because we went too far. I think the sign is a little hidden within the bushes. Otherwise, such a lovely stay! Would return!

We stayed for three days and had the best experience. It was quiet, clean, and the 30 amp back in was spacious and somewhat private. The bathrooms were very clean with plenty of hot water and roomy showers with plenty of room to sit your stuff where it won’t get wet. It was easy to find our site and staff were pleasant.
