The location is on the corner of RTE 1 and Powers Drive Lane. To enter, turn onto Powers Drive and take a sharp left into the first driveway and onto the grass back toward rte 1. Park parallel with Powers Drive Lane near the big oaks.

Welcome to my studio property. There is a long spacious spot for most sizes RV. It has level grass for you to park on. There is a group fire pit area on the grounds for everyone.
Many people do not need electricity these days. So I have lowered the price of the spot. It is without electricity. You can add it on if you wish at $20 per night. You will need a long extension, and it is 20 amps.
I have water for your holding tank.

This is an excellent spot for a short stay. It is good if you need to be here a couple of days prior to your campground stay!

Spacious Skies Balsam Woods is a hidden paradise of a campground located right in the heart of Maine, just a half hour south of Moosehead Lake, the largest lake in Maine, and 60 miles as the crow flies from the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail, Mt. Katahdin, in Baxter State Park.
We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate most rigs. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 30 or 50-amp electrical service, and most offer sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.
Balsam Woods campground is less than a minute’s drive from Piper Pond, a 2-mile-long lake with public boat launch and beach access. Onsite, we have a camp store and snack bar stocked with necessities, treats, and goodies for the whole family. There is no shortage of fun activities with our heated pool, classic rec hall, playground, a new jumping pillow, and gem mining! We have three cozy rustic cabins as well as three deluxe cabins for those wanting to experience the beauty of the great outdoors but who may not be ready for the tenter or RV life!

Tucked among spruce, fir, and birch on Sunshine Island in Deer Isle–Stonington, Four Acre Woods began more than 60 years ago as a small, family-run campground known as Sunshine Campground. Travelers from across the world visited this quiet island forest, drawn to its raw beauty and the peaceful energy that generations before us had loved and cared for.
The campground eventually closed in the 1990s and sat untouched for over 15 years—its trails, clearings, and old campsites slowly reclaimed by the woods. The land waited, quietly, for someone to bring it back to life.
In the years that followed, Caleb, a longtime local operator on the island, took interest in the property. Recognizing both its history and its potential to offer people a deeper experience of Deer Isle’s natural beauty, he began the process of carefully restoring and reopening the land.
Working season by season, Caleb rebuilt the sites, added new infrastructure, re-established utilities, and designed a campground that honors the land’s roots while offering a comfortable, modern, and nature-forward experience for today’s guests.
In July 2020, the property reopened under a new name: Four Acre Woods.
Today, it blends the spirit of the original Sunshine Campground with thoughtful stewardship, simple comforts, and a deep respect for the forest that surrounds it. Visitors once again gather under the birches and spruces—sharing campfires, slow mornings, quiet nights, and the timeless island calm that makes this land so special.

When you arrive at the big posts and posted signs keep driving through because you are almost there. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles.
We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Fantastic! Best camping in Maine, or maybe New England! Loved the location, the vibe, the community room, and the host. A must stay if you are in the area.

Such a great spot. It’s quite off the beaten path but worth it as the drive was beautiful and the property was great. Very well thought out and clean campground. Great bath house, dish washing station, and laundry. We only stayed a night and didn’t have a chance to enjoy all the amenities but the sauna, community cabin and outdoor game area with horseshoes and cornhole were a nice touch.

This camp ground has it all!! The community center had so much to offer. From games to espresso machine that includes the pods! Tea machine with lots of flavors to choose from. Had washer n dryer with detergent! Bath house had shampoo, conditioner and body wash! It was clean and peaceful. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!!!

Absolutely loved staying at Four Acre Woods Campground - 12/10 experience and will absolutely recommend and be back myself. We used the sauna both nights (such a special touch), made coffee/used the WiFi in the community cabin in the mornings to plan out our day, and really appreciated the clean and fully stocked shower/out house area. There was laundry available on site as well as an outdoor sink and any plates/bowls/utensils one could ever need available to borrow - they really have outfitted this place to be perfect for any level camper. Jeremy, Caleb and Willow were around most mornings if you had a quick question or needed anything but they’ve also made everything self serving which is appreciated. Trash and recycling was available within steps of any site and (other than one unfortunate loud neighbor one of our nights) the place quieted right down by 10 making for a great time to have a fire make s’mores and enjoy being outdoors. There was so much to explore in the gorgeous surrounding areas I feel like we just barely scraped the surface over three days. I cannot wait to book here again next summer and many more to come. Thank you for the hospitality & a great wonderful camping trip!!!

O..m…GEEE!! This spot is fantastic! Me and my fiancé are spending a week on the road and this hipcamp is exactly the check point that we needed after sleeping in the car for a few nights. Public bathroom (that are super duper clean btw!!, shower (also amazingly clean), personal outlet, fire pit with a grill cover, and a BEAUTIFUL community center with (really yummy) coffee, pots, utensils, seasonings, oil, peanut butter and jelly ingredients, games, a sink for cleaning dishes, a laundry area, guitars, a drum, a sauna, messages, herbal somatic healing, and friends!! This place is so so so worth the price, honestly worth more than the price it is an absolute blessing that these sites are as cheap as $50-$60. It really has been a lovely wonderful experience. You are a part of a community here!! Enough space to where I feel like I have my own personal campsite, and distance enough where it doesn’t feel overcrowded or cramped at all. As I walk over to the bathroom I can say hi to my neighbors! Everyone is so respectful and pleasant to talk to. Especially River, gave some really good spot recommendations and good vibes all around. THANK U ALL!!! <3
