We share our property with a flock of sweet hens and ducks.....and a few bossy roosters. Eggs are available for purchase if needed. There is a little greenhouse with herbs, greens and strawberries. The field is also an apple orchard that mostly feeds the wildlife. The tent site is privately placed in our cove unseen from the house. We wanted to offer a site that we would enjoy as well and feels like it is in a world of its own. We spend all of our free time outside, camping and paddling the local rivers and lakes. Tommy and I can recommend many beautiful remote Maine adventures for you to experience that are located off the grid and away from all other humans. The sweet city of Ellsworth is only 7 miles away for all of your provisions and Otis General Store is 1 mile away.. they have everything to get you through plus beer, wine, ice and homemade pizza. We can give you a pass to visit the Beech Hill Pond Beach also only 1 mile away (I walk there all the time) which has clear water and a sandy bottom. Great spot to spend the day sunbathing and swimming. I can offer yoga, personal training, boxing and paddleboard lessons or SUP yoga for some onsite physical fitness fun upon request. Learn more about this land: 16 by 12 ft A-Frame on a platform overlooking our private cove on Graham Lake.  Walk through the forest trail to the Beech Hill Pond Stream and find a private little swim spot under a mini waterfall . Must bring in water. • The cabin is quite cozy for 1-2 people and/or 1-2 fur babies. The cabin itself has an 8x10’ floor plan with a full size futon. Great synchronicity led us to the wild 30 acres of marsh and woodland that is Turtle Marsh. In addition to making a home here, we dedicating the area as a sanctuary for the quiet enjoyment of nature, eco-spiritual practices and healing. We are now recognized by the World Wildlife Fund as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We have trails on the property that are designed for contemplative walks, along with several benches where you can sit in quiet enjoyment, undisturbed by human intrusions. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. It is a little more secluded, 2-3 minutes further from the road in a very quiet wooded niche, at the edge of the marsh. It is also a little smaller tent (10' diameter) situated on a platform, and a little more "camping" than "glamping". We are pricing the stay there according. In spite of being nestled in the woods, no trees were cut to prepare these relatively accessible sites. We believe that they still offer a very tangible sense of wildness and solitude. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Two cabins and a treehouse sit in an open field with wide views of the river and its passing wildlife. The remaining treehouses are thoughtfully spaced across 25 acres of quiet forest, offering privacy and a sense of deep immersion in the trees. Many enjoy filtered river views through the canopy. Each season brings its own pleasures: temperate summer days and cool, starlit evenings; fall foliage and crisp air; the stillness of snow-covered woods in winter; and, in spring, a quiet reawakening as color and life return to the forest. Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land. We followed the path of an old roadbed to guide our layout, preserving as many trees as possible. Cabins and treehouses are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land. Wildlife is part of daily life here. Songbirds call from the canopy. Heron and eagles pass overhead. Deer move through the understory, and turkeys wander the clearings. Mushrooms—chanterelles, black trumpets, and others—rise through the forest floor in season. From the start, the idea was simple: to create a place that feels good to step into. We only allow catch & release fishing & ask that you bend the barbs on the fish hooks for the safety of the fish. Feel free to enjoy a paddle in one of our complimentary canoes or get in a leg workout with a paddle boat. Life vests are provided & must be worn at all times if you’re in one of the boats. Inquire about fishing gear rentals if you don’t have any or forgot to bring it. Ample parking provided & solar lights will guide you to your yurt. There are three units in total so if there are other guests occupying other units please be respectful and courteous. There are several trailheads for the Hills to Sea Trail within a mile of our property. The quintessential New England waterfront town of Belfast on Penobscot Bay, is less than 30 minutes away. One of our favorite spots for quiet hikes along the shore of the bay, is Sears Island. It is one of the largest undeveloped islands on the east coast, that is connected to the mainland by a causeway. The island is 50 minutes away and even on the busiest summer days, its's usually possible to find a quiet spot on the shore to sit and reflect. As we continue to deepen our relationship with this land, we are trying to follow the principles of Deep Ecology in all of our interactions. Our tentsites, while only a 5 minute walk from the road, have been sited to offer as much solitude as possible, with minimal disruption to the surroundings. For 2025 we are opening a new site. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

Really unique and amazing stay, can't recommend this place enough! Learned about three medicinal mushrooms that grow on the property through the walks with Peter and Willie. Some neat evidence of beaver activity was spotted as well. You can hear barn owls in the evening. If you did get any rain or wind while there it's rather pleasant. Was nice to know if you do need anything the cabin and Peter were a short walk away. I even got Peters book which I can't wait to read!

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp. A few things to note: Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin. There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded. Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me. The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

I can’t wait to come back! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this. The set up was perfect, Jeff and Cathy have gone above and beyond with making sure their guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. We stayed in the Owls Nest, it was super cozy. There was a whole outdoor kitchen set up with all the kitchen supplies you need. They supplied fire wood, kindling and fire starter! They had jugs of water, a very nice clean bathroom set up. There is a lot of cute animals around too, we saw a few deer, and a porcupine with its baby! We were so impressed with Jeff and Cathy’s hospitality and can’t wait to come stay in the Owls Nest next season :)

Secluded. Loved this space. Even though they warned not to get there at night, we did… path is an adventure but follow it, you’ll eventually get there. Will be easier without the wheel barrel! Can hear traffic speeding by in distance but didn’t mind. Outhouse is the cleanest I’ve used. Yurt is a great size. Walk to lake and take the kayaks out. Don’t skip it.

Weekend Trip to Riverview cabin
Sweet little cabin in the woods! Jamin was super accommodating and even built an outside fire for us prior to arrival. More spacious than you might think for a small cabin. We opted not to use the generator but it was nice to have that option. We enjoyed staying here as a launch point for the weekend of the Common Ground fair just up the road in Unity. Felt very cozy and private. Could be great for a small group of people or just a couple like us.

The Anchorage is a 4-acre cabins and motel property located approximately 0.5 miles south of Lincolnville, ME. This historic property has been operating for over 100 years. Recently purchased by my wife and me, it is currently undergoing a rebranding and remodel. At present, there are 4 small cottages available to rent, along with plenty of parking space for smaller RVs and vans. Cyclists passing through are welcome to reach out—we’re happy to accommodate tent camping as well. Services such as showers are limited at this time. Cottages include air conditioning, heat, and Keurig coffee makers. RV and van campers will have access to water for filling tanks, and we can accommodate 15A connections at this time. The property itself is gorgeous, offering incredible night-sky views. From the parking area, you can see Penobscot Bay in the distance. A small creek also runs through the land, attracting birds and other wildlife. The Anchorage is located just 0.5 miles from Lincolnville Beach, a popular spot for swimming, relaxing, and launching kayaks. Nearby attractions include: Cellar Door Winery - 4.5 mi Camden - 5 mi Belfast - 12 mi Acadia National Park - 65 mi

Spend the day enjoying our glamping site with your own private tent with queen bed, wood stove, propane heater and portable toilet. Wake up to sound of loons and enjoy a nice cup coffee or tea in your adirondack chairs while watching the morning sun glisten off the crystal clear water only steps away. Go for bike ride or a hike on a numerous trails throughout our 155 acres or take a kayak/canoe ride right from your site. Bring your 4-wheeler or sxs and ride the vast array of trails throughout the area. We are just 2 miles from the ITS 105 connector trail. From there you can head north or south which connect with other state and local club trail systems. Venture over to our main dock on Junior Lake and set out on an adventure and explore the 25,000 acres of clean, glacial lakes with access to 7 of these lakes, such as Bottle lake, Scraggly lake, Junior bay, West Grand....just to name a few, right from our boat launch. Make sure you bring some supplies so you can stop for lunch at one of the many islands and natural beaches that are scattered through the area. Most of the time you will have the lake to yourself as there are no public boat launches on Junior lake which means you can really get a feel for what it's like to be isolated and enjoy true peace and quiet.....although you may have to share the lake with the local loons or bald eagles. We are located in the famous chain lake region of Maine, 20 minutes from the Canadian border and just under 3 hours from Acadia National Park. Take I-95 north 42 miles to exit 227 Lincoln (US-2/MERT6/ ME-116) and turn right. Go 4 miles and turn left at the light onto US-2/ME-6. Follow ME-RT 6 East for 33 miles, passing through down-town Lincoln and Lee. In Springfield, turn right onto Bottle Lake Road. Go 6 miles and turn right onto Depot Rd. Go 1.5 miles and turn left onto East Shore Rd. In .27 miles turn left onto Red Pine Rd. Go about 2 miles, bare left at Middle rd to stay on Red Pine, continue for about 3 miles, you will see the Wild Fox entrance gate on your right, go through the gate and follow signs to the office. Wilderness Glamping 200’ hill 22 acres off grid wooded area beautiful views of Mountains, Stream, Britton Prospect with traces of gold, silver and copper, trails around the Balsam Hill. ATV and Snowmobile Trails come right to Balsam Hill Cabins. The Cabins are right on the old Stagecoach Road that is 220 years old. We just fixed Old County Road to the Cabins. We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge Find us on YouTube videos of wild animals and campground area 😊 A-Frame Cabin 10’by10’, private, fire pit, benches, picnic table and hammock. The Cabin is 75’ from Old County Road and 200’ from the parking area. A cell phone booster is at the campground which works good and runs all the time and no wifi or power at the cabins off grid. Shower is located at the cabins. We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge and we just fixed the Old County Road and the parking area and the road is settling from being fixed but low cars have been making into the parking area with no problems. The paths are primitive and not suited for people who have trouble walking on uneven ground. We provide solar lights, propane stove, propane, natural bug spray, battery bank charger, 1 small bottled water per guests and sleeping bags. Heat provided from Oct 1 to April 30. No Out of State Maine Firewood. No water at the shower from October 15 to April 30 because of the frost.
