What’s not to love about camping just a short walk from an incredible brewery? Turtleback Ridge Farm is a fantastic host for the Kentucky Open Road Race Series, and I had the privilege of camping there the night before a race. Although the weather was dreary and the rain relentless, the property still offered a peaceful, spacious spot to pitch a tent and rest up undisturbed. I didn’t get to fully appreciate the farm’s beauty this time, but I’m already looking forward to a return visit. Highly recommend to anyone in search of a laid-back, convenient campsite in the area!

1 night at Punkin Hollow Resort

I had a great time visiting on a solo trip with my dog! Everything was clean and enjoyable, and the creeks are pretty to walk along. If you're visiting in March/April, make sure to look at upcoming weather for potential storms. We got caught in an overnight thunderstorm, which made the creek water rise and was not passable for my low car (Ford Fusion Hybrid). We ended up having to stay an extra night, but it all worked out well! The host was understanding, a fellow camper shared their food, and Jon was responsive and super helpful! We would definitely visit again.

My sin and I enjoyed our stop at Barts property. The scenery was gorgeous. He fetched some firewood fornme and his wife brought kinding. Their son incuded mine in a morning walk down to the creek and to a neighbors place to explore. The composting toilet was awesome. No smell and it was clean and peaceful. It was an added bonus to have a covered outdoor kitchen/seating area with a fresh spring water sink, ample counter space, table, stools, and electricity. Bonus an electric tea kettle! There was a box with maps, guides, and other goodies for guests. There was a crazy hard trail up the mountain behind the site that was steep and slippery. The view was worth it. We will definitely be back.

Amazing as always! We had a group of 50 there in all types of camping (campers, tents, treehouses, etc). Everyone had a great time and we were able to both gather as a group and have some fruitful family time. Looking forward to coming back!

I've stayed at around a dozen hipcamps around the country, and I have to say, this is one of my favorites. It is completely private and there is much to explore right there on the property. Easy communication with the host, available water, and a few minutes drive from some cool hikes in the red river gorge. I'll definitely be staying here again if I'm in the area.

We loved bringing our teardrop trailer to this beautiful private property! We are new to the area and this was the perfect spot for our family. We felt so safe and comfortable and had everything we needed! Our camper did wonderful by the pond! We did hiking every day at red River Gorge and it was so nice coming back to this nice private spot (spot by the pond). We did this trip in March so even though the nights were chilly we did just fine and everyone was sad to leave! Thank you guys for such a great experience and for sharing your property with us!

Very Peaceful atmosphere, at night all you can hear is the valley stream, the perfect amount of noise! Very friendly people and very friendly animals! Would absolutely recommend staying here again, although next time I think I'll wait till it's a bit warmer outside.

This campsite was amazing, and Sam is a wonderful host. Even in the early spring this place is an oasis. Our campsite was tucked in the trees, and the outdoor kitchen was the cutest. It was perfect campsite for watching the eclipse and star gazing. 1000% would recommend stoping here if you can.

Loving Farm is a 6 acre working flower farm and nature preserve in the heart of Nepton, Kentucky (within Ewing). Bordered by Johnson Creek and a railroad, supposedly being revived. TBD. Marietta and Perriee (aka, "The Girls") are a happily married couple who are the current caretakers of the land and live in the house on the property. Half of the property, along the creek, is currently being nature-scaped after not mowing it since 2022. Since then, we have been maintaining mowed pathways and planting seeds, trees, and vegetables that can be found in pockets along the way. The revitalization has led to a resurgence of sunchokes, golden rod, and other native species, in addition to some ragweed, which we have been managing diligently as the space matures. Camp sites are located in this part of the property, mostly along the creek. We also have a White Duck bell tent that is on a deck that overlooks the trails, which can be reserved as well. Our home is also on the property, along the railroad, where our more cultivated gardens are located. We have cats and ducks on the property and appreciate not having other animals from guests, out of respect for their comfort. There is a porta-potty on site and a Trelino composting toilet for guest use in the flower studio bathroom. The flower studio has a bathtub and is plumbed with city water. Cold water is available from an outdoor spigot 24-7. This space is used by Perriee and Marietta for flower storage, seed starting, and baking for events and will remain accessible to guests while staying for the use of bathroom. We would ask you not cook or store food in the kitchen as we use it for business purposes, but the space does have an air conditioner in the event someone needs to cool off. Regardless, it is likely that you will run into another guest here, and cross paths with one of us while working in the studio during the day. The Nepton Warehouse, located on the property, is visible from the road and is used for events here on the farm. We will let you know if an event will be happening during your stay in the event that you want to come during a quieter time. Nepton is a great community with the rural feel you are looking for if you want to camp in nature but be a little closer to people. Cars pass, the hospital is close, but the cicadas hum, the stars are bright, and the sky is big and beautiful. Be sure to check out the following attractions if you are interested in something to do while here: Turtleback Ridge Brewery (also on Hipcamp for an overnight), Yoder's Dinner Bell Market, look for the Honey sign around the corner at Ellessare Farm, stop at Nepton Greenhouse and say hello to Nancy and Daniel, and of course shop at the Fleming County Farmer's Market during the season (open Tuesday evening and Saturday mornings).

The southern perimeter of the property is all cliff line, so you feel truly remote. Other than that, you'll mostly hear the wind rustling trees, deer and critters making their way through the woods, and possibly a waterfall at certain times of the year. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. For other activities, restaurants, shopping, music, and more, we're happy to share our favorites, but highly recommend checking out the Berea Tourism website.

Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife around but no hunting is allowed. Our designated tent sites do have firepits and picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. There is a centrally located bathhouse with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. We have firewood for sale for $15 per bundle and is an extra option when booking(use what you need during your stay and it is located at the tent sites), you can bring your own and you are welcome to gather from the surrounding area but please do not cut down any living trees/limbs.

The Kentucky river has a great variety of fish for your chasing, large and small mouth bass, walleye, muskie, drum, pan fish an abundance of nice size channel cats which are so much fun to catch. FYI gang plank going down to the dock is steep so depending on your physical condition the dock may not be accessible to you.

Owned by my Dad who said I could build a tree house on it in 2014. It really was a dream come true. My Dad's original intent was to make it into a huge farm. Now, he is content with building a few treehouses! I have wanted a tree house since I was 10 years old. My siblings and I would spend hours make believing our own tree houses of twigs, rock and moss. It was where we felt at peace. When I turned 35 I knew something was missing in my life. I returned to doing fun adventures again and one led to another and we found tree climbing. EarthJOY tree adventures was founded in 2007 and since then we have guided 1000's of climbers into the trees and watch as they do tree tricks like yoga poses and coming down like spiderman.This land is magical and a world of adventure awaits you!

Haymark Farm is a 285-acre farm in Ewing, KY, where alfalfa hay is produced. The farm has picturesque ridges and hills at one of the highest elevations in the area, allowing spectacular sunrise and sunset views. Three different branches of Buchanan creek begin on the farm and run together on the back of the property. There are also two small ponds and several barns (including one for your horses) on the property. Take a hike; fish (bring your own pole and supplies); or relax around the campfire (we'll supply the wood). We generally have cattle in our pastures; and we also want you to meet our small, friendly farm animals! We are 8 miles to Blue Licks State Park, 15 miles to historic Old Washington (have breakfast at Lil Jumbo's and shop at Local 68); 20 miles to charming Maysville on the Ohio River (good eats and important history); and 50 miles to Lexington (with The Kentucky Horse Park nearby).
