THE BAPTISMAL POND: As history goes the pond in front of this site was used in the 1800's for baptisms for the church visible from everywhere on the farm, thus our name. This is a tent site, easy to drive into and out of, fires permitted in season. THISTLEDOWN GATHERING PLACE: This is a very large meadow, surrounded by trees with the capacity for large groups, many tents and gatherings of lots of people. Very level, easy in and out with vehicles. Fires permitted in season. WHITETAIL SANCTUARY: Every night for decades a herd of whitetail deer graze in this pastoral setting. Drive in and out, fires in season. Suitable for a family sized tent. THE PENNINSULA: This camping spot is WALK IN ONLY. You can drive to the trailhead on grass and walk the path to the campsite (about 200 yards). One of two remote sites. It sits in the woods, on the bank of a wet weather creek which flows around two sides of the campsite. Fires permitted in season. TOTEM TREES: This site is WALK IN ONLY. A short hike down the hill from the grass parking area and you have a small spot for a tent, in the woods, surrounded by trees and a lot of standing dead ash which appear as if you are in the presence of totem poles. Nice spot. Open field with a fire pit, picnic table, some trees, and next to the river. Host was very responsive to my messages and only took a minute or two to respond. There is a very very friendly cat on the farm and it will hang out either you by the campfire. Woke up with some horses walking up to us to say hi (friendly as well). Only downside was some dogs barking in the middle of the night.

This was the coolest place we’ve ever camped at! The hosts were super nice and easy to communicate with, they also recommended a lot of different things to see/do. The animals were very friendly and sociable, especially Little Rat and Frank. Overall very nice property!

Weekend Trip to Serenity Camp

Amazing property with tons to explore. Host met us upon arrival and gave us all the details we needed. The overall property is rolling hills, fields, and forest. There are creeks, cliffs, rock walls, and more. The flat spot for an RV is plenty large enough for our little 17' RV, a table, and fire. Getting in and out with a large RV might be more of a challenge due to the layout. We pulled in on the right side of the hookups, and turned as far away from the road we could, but you really can't turn away from the completely. Maybe if you back in and cut just past the hookups? A larger RV might need to back in? Highway 11 is pretty noisy during the day (but has little traffic at night) as it is elevated from the campsite. The tent areas were probably quieter. The kids enjoyed the visits from the friendly dog, and we had another dog go on a hike with us. We got to pet the horses. 15 Minutes from Natural Bridge and driving distance to plenty of other Red River Gorge area hikes and sites. No picnic table provided (clearly noted in amenities), so bring a table with you!

Weekend Trip to Nocoma’s Pass

This site worked well for a 3 day weekend trip to Daniel Boone National Forest. I like quiet places that are secluded and this worked well. We got a site right next to a creek and there were 3 mountains on 3 sides. It was the end of lane so no houses, but the owner does live a few hundred feet way. Besides the owners, there was nobody else around and it was very quiet at night. The star gazing was incredible.

Our creekside camp was perfect! The creek is nice and clean, there are trails on the property and there’s even a small cave. There’s plenty of level ground for tents… and the view of the stars is awesome. It’s about 25 minutes to the Natural Bridge trail. The owners live on site and were very welcoming. We spent 3 days and 2 nights and had an amazing time!

The site was open with a beautiful view and felt very private. It was well taken care of with a nice electric hook up, bench, fire ring, and picnic bench. There was cut firewood ready. My Subaru Forester made it easily down the path. We had both a spot for shade and sun and we saw a beautiful sunrise/sunset. The stars were incredible. It was really quiet and peaceful with the exception of a barking neighbor dog (obviously not the fault of Handyland). There is a little pond and a gorgeous creek. It’s a 10 min walk maybe, but I was walking with a toddler. I brought a fishing pole and caught some creek chubs. The place is truly lovely. Josh was quick to reply and unobtrusive. My dog was able to run off leash the whole time. At the entrance there is bottled water for sale at $1 each. There’s well water I think but I couldn’t figure it out. I might have missed some directions there. There is also a microwave and little cook top and fridge. I believe that’s available to all the campers. We didn’t end up using it. There’s a little checkboard and table and it’s a cozy little spot if you want to interact with others at all. I’d suggest making it clear that you need your own water unless you want to buy. That’s probably my only recommendation and they may have been my fault. Otherwise, definitely going to be back. No tick or mosquito issues either. Thanks again Josh!

Absolutely fantastic stay! The kids roamed free and loved the animals. We hiked up the creek, which was so gorgeous and found the “witch’s” shed. Kevin was such a lovely host. We enjoyed getting to know him and the pets! We will definitely be back in the summer to swim in the creek and river.

Barts place was very quiet(we stayed at the site to the right if facing the A-Frame) , hiking was awesome on property! Highly recommend. Could use vechicle or tent to camp at all 3 spots!
