Threshold Learning Center is 28 acres of prairie, creek, woods, and our barn dormitory. Threshold is first, an outdoor learning center for schools during the school year, and a summer camp offering several day camps, family camps, and trips. As a non-profit, however, we are constantly trying to find a way to offer our programs to everyone regardless of whether they are able to pay our fees while still making enough money to stay open. We started renting TLC to the public 5 years ago for weddings, reunions, or just families who are looking to connect to the world around them. Our motto is "No Child Left Inside" and we want every inner child to enjoy what we have at TLC. Acreage on a gravel road with many shade trees surrounded by farm land. Easy access from Highway 20, Interstate 380, and Avenue of the Saints making it great for an overnight stop from your travels. This was a gem of a find. We booked this last minute, and Ryan was incredibly responsive and welcoming. The place is immaculate and well-kept and it is clear they have put thought into the layout and to the amenities for RVers. We were the only ones staying that night. We were able to walk around and enjoy the tree farm and play with the dogs. It was a super peaceful night. What a beautiful place! It is worth the 10 mile trek off of 35 for such a peaceful lovely place with water and electric!
Bonus there is a free RV dump station in Iowa Falls, right next to the armory. Huge pull in and easy access for any size RV.

We stopped at Sue’s for an overnight stay on our way from Indiana to Minnesota. We prefer staying where we aren’t in a typical campground setting. This stay was exactly that. We were greeted upon arrival, and assisted with filling our fresh water tank. Our 33ft travel trailer was easy to maneuver and set up on their perfectly level spot. We were able to keep our rig hooked up for an easy departure the following morning. This property is absolutely stunning. We will be coming back through in late summer and can’t wait to see the beautiful flowers when they are in full bloom. We enjoyed great conversation with Sue and her husband. We will stay here again and this is highly recommended if you prefer an overnight stay that isn’t your typical cramped KOA or Stare Park experience.

We took our twin toddler two year olds camping for the first time at this location and it was perfect well groomed grass with organic apple trees and a brand new pavilion made our evening very comfortable. There’s also a fire pit and we were able to roast s’mores.

Sue is a wonderful host!! Both Sue and her husband greeted us when we arrived and helped us back into our spot. They were very friendly and made us feel like we were family. The site was very peaceful and the views were Beautiful!! It was very clean and well groomed. They had a table and chairs, firepit with firewood and they had a swing facing the views. Tyler and Sarah were so nice, meeting us the moment we arrived. We were given the option of a few sites and essentially, anywhere really. The space we set up camp at was like a shire tucked away not far from the main yard and bathroom. But somehow felt totally secluded. Our music didn't even cut through the trees.
The dogs got to run their butts off, we soaked up the gurgling creek and hooting owls. We will definitely be back.

The cows. Next time I need to meet and pet the pig!
