With the river location, we get very windy conditions along the river corridor. Awnings can easily become damaged during these conditions. Please take notice and consider putting awnings away so that they don't get damaged. Along the same lines, please don't have campfires if the winds are high.
Make sure your dogs are on a leash. We have mules on the property that DO NOT like dogs. This is for the safety of your dog.
No fireworks on the premises.
We do have a couple small trash cans that get dumped on Thursdays...that being said....we are NOT a dump. If trash cans are full or you have large items, please haul your trash to Lemhi County Landfill. They are open Monday-Friday: 7am-5:15pm and have dumpsters open on the weekend.

Our location provides easy access to many of the area's most popular attractions. Grand Targhee Resort, the Teton River, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Jackson Hole, and the charming towns of Driggs and Victor are all within easy driving distance.
There is also a small cottage on the property that serves as a separate vacation rental for up to two guests. Guests share the main amenities, while the tent site remains private for Hipcamp guests.
We live on the property in a yurt and are available if needed. We also respect our guests' privacy and strive to create a quiet retreat where you can enjoy the land at your own pace.

All bed and bath linens are provided in all of our rooms. Firepits are a-plenty!
Our Inn also has great tent sites, plus both 30 amp and 50 amp RV/Camper sites with water and electric, a firepit and picnic table each, plus a fee dump station. We are currently planning/building another shower/restroom house and a laundry mat. There is a fee dump station on site.

We are very close to hiking, hot springs, rapelling, 200+ miles of ATV and SxS trails, golf, mini-golf, a driving range, skiing, ice cream parlor and two restaurants, and the mighty Snake River corridor right across the road. 90 minutes to the east to Jackson/GTNP/then South Gate in YNP (2 routes-- the mountain pass or the easy Snake River route), and 90 minutes to the north to West Yellowstone/Yellowstone West Gate (2 steep mountain passes). Both routes are beautiful with waterfalls, gorgeous mountain views, and Idaho countryside. Maverick Mountain Home is perched on a mountainside several hundred feet above picturesque Trestle Creek, a protected Kokanee Salmon and Bull Trout spawning habitat, two short but gorgeous miles up the road from Lake Pend Oreille. Our property is hidden within an epic cedar, fir and pine forest, bracketed by the Kaniksu National Forest to the east and conservation land to the west.
SPRING/SUMMER/FALL:
Spend the afternoon at the Trestle Creek on the eastern shore of Lake Pend Oreille, only two miles down the road (just off Highway 200), where you can launch your boat, swim at the beach, or paddle along the shore in your kayak or SUP.
Or, take an adventurous backcountry drive up Trestle Creek Road into the mountains of the Kaniksu National Forest where you can check out Lunch Peak Lookout, hike miles of pristine trails to one of the three nearby mountain lakes, explore several waterfalls, or drive the entire 35 mile backcountry loop down to the town of Clark Fork.
If quiet rest is what you seek, find a secluded spot next to one of creeks where you can hang a hammock and listen for that still small voice. Or read a book until the peaceful whispers of flowing water and breeze through the trees lulls you to sleep.
You'll be in for a special treat if you book your site during the annual Kokanee Salmon spawning season! The salmon run usually starts during the last week in August or first week in September and lasts through late September. There are a multitude of viewing locations along Trestle Creek to witness this yearly miracle and snap some amazing photos!
WINTER:
Bring your snow machines and take advantage of sled in/sled out access from your campsite to the Trestle Creek loop system, boasting spectacular backcountry terrain with 50+ miles of groomed trails and hundreds of thousands of off-trail acres to explore! On-site trailer parking adjacent to the road is available.
If skiing is your thing, Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort is an easy (and gorgeous) 45 minute commute. Don't tell anyone, but Schweitzer Mountain is an absolute gem of a ski resort with 2,900 acres of gorgeous skiing terrain (and epic views) for all ages and skill levels. Our family spends a good bit of time skiing here.
Winter Driveway Access: a 4-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle is required to climb our driveway during winter conditions.
OUR STORY:
We (Tim and Molly) spent 14 years raising our young family in the desert heat of north Phoenix. Every summer we went dispersed camping as many weekends as possible with our four (now five) children in the backcountry mountain ranges of northern Arizona. We watched our family grow stronger together and sibling relationships flourish as the mental and emotional grime of the city grind was slowly washed from our souls during idle morning hangouts, afternoon hiking adventures and evening stories and laughs around the campfire.
We had a particularly amazing mountaintop experience in 2014 backcountry camping over Labor Day Weekend where we felt a strong calling to share with others the blessings we were experiencing. Our hearts were impressed with a desire to host a place in the "wilderness" where people and families could escape and unwind from the noise and pace of city life for a few days and maybe even have a mountaintop experience of their own.
After several years of waiting for the right timing, we started exploring and found this place in January 2019. By April we had sold our home in Phoenix and moved our family 2,000 miles north to this 27 acre property on a mountain of Hope. We named it Maverick Mountain Home, which captures our love of the wilderness, our mission to care for the lost, and our desire to be unbranded by the world.
Upon landing here we immediately got to work preparing. We've spent the last five years working on hundreds of different projects, including: rehabilitating our driveway, beginning a long-term whole-house remodel, building a chicken coop, maintaining our driveway, fencing in a new orchard, chicken yard, and pig yard, planting trees, replacing a spring house, maintaining our driveway, installing underground infrastructure for future guest facilities, clearing trails, milling lumber, and maintaining our driveway.
In 2024 we dedicated a good portion of April and May to preparing our first HipCamp site, Living Water, which went live on our wedding anniversary at the end of May. We added our second site, Boondock Butte in July with plans for several more sites in coming years. Since the first booking on our opening weekend we've watched as that line from "Field of Dreams" came true in our "backyard" - we built it and they started coming.

We have 125 acre farm ranch that is waterfront on brownlee reservoir. We have 5 different camping vacations options. 1 cabin to rent. 1 camp trailer on a nice waterfront lot as well as 3 camp sports 1 with water and power hook ups (site. 2 water wheel) and 2 dry camp spots. we have a spot to launch boats which is right between sight 3 and 4. Good fishing. Very little boat traffic. Very private. In the fall big horn sheep frequently rut on the property. We usually have fresh eggs on hand. Dry climate. Sage brush and juniper trees here. We have an easy to access spot to fill up water to your camp trailers or rvs. The water is from a spring and Water tastes really good.
We just added a 24ft pontoon boat for rent.
This area has a lot of history. Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce tribe often stayed in this area and on the property. In fact this was where his tribe met to discuss and decide to try to go to escape to Canada. This is where that journey started. You can still find arrow heads on the shoreline every so often. I’m ruffly 15 miles north of Huntington oregon. 13 miles of which is dirt road. The property sits at the base of lookout mountain. Really good cell service here with Verizon Full bars. If you decide to come camp make sure your directions take you through Huntington. Google sometimes likes to try to get people to drive over the mountain. Or if your coming from the north it sometimes wants you to go through Richland and then on 34 miles of dirt road. Going Through Huntington onto snake river rd is the easy way to go.

Parkside Mountain Ranch provides private camping on a 450 acre mountain with trails for any type of adventure.
PMR has a variety of camping experiences you can pick from to accommodate while camping with us. Have a family get together, a business retreat, trail ride your horse with your barn buddies, send us a message and let us know what you would like and we will make your camping just the way you want it to be.
Heyburn State Park Rocky Point is less than a mile away. Hipcampers can enjoy the Lake Chatcolet which offers a beach, marina, and a boat launch. Heyburn State Park South Side entrance is located on the same road as PMR. PMR will have sites with over night horse stalls too. Sooo bring your horse camping with you!

Enjoy s'mores by the fire while you watch the sun set over the beauitful rolling hills, relax on the turf grassed area in the hammock, or lie around in the comfy queen bed all day! (Two twin beds are also available inside the tipi upon request.) Each tipi is equipped with everything you need to make your experience enjoyable and memorable including chairs, roasting sticks, wood, a bbq and supplies, extra blankets, lantern, fan, heater, bottled water, eating utensils, a handwashing area, and a portable restroom nearby. Please note that there is no electricity or running water.
We offer many add-on packages with the Tipi stays, including a Sweethearts Package, S'mores Package, U-pick Flower Experience, and even a Movie Night Package! (Depending on Availability)
PLEASE remember the tipi is subject to temps. Please be prepared for the tipi to be colder inside on cooler nights or warm inside on hotter days. We do provide a small heater and extra blankets on cooler nights, and bottled water and a fan on hotter days.

What a beautiful Hipcamp site! The three sites sit on mowed grass in a lovely farm setting. We watched several bevies of quail as well as a couple of American Kestrals on the property.
The bathroom port-a-potty was extremely clean and included a hand washing station. Water and trash were easily accessible.
I would stay here again.

It was a great site. The host was very friendly and helpful. They had a great view of the fields and it was sheltered beneath great ponderosa pines. The only detractor was the traffic noise, but it settled down and was okay at night time.

Weekend Trip to Crazy Cow Farm Adventure
What a wonderful experience, especially for the grandkids (ages 2-8). The kids loved seeing and feeding the animals, playing on the play equipment, riding the pedal cars around the property and to the nearby park and candy store. Also cooking hotdogs over the camp fire. It was a great family reunion with some in the rental trailer on site, some in tents, and our 5th wheel as headquarters. We even helped chase sheep along the path to help them (the sheep that is) build some muscle for a future fair competition. Oh, also holding puppies and helping catch an escaped rabbit.
It is a very unique chance for our kids and grandkids to be on a working farm and get just a taste of farm life.
Shayna and her family were wonderful and patient hosts that took time to explain farm things to the grandkids. On our second evening, the grandkids even abandoned a birthday cake to run and do chores for the animals with Shayna. A great experience and great memory builder! Do note though, it can get pretty warm in August!

Nicholas has a beautiful property with fields of golden rapeseed (we think based upon the google search) and private camp spaces with all the necessary amenities. We visited in the heat of August so it was a bit toasty but overall a relaxing and wonderful break.

We had sought a quiet place away from the noise and chaos of the everyday, and our stay here far exceeded those wishes. The hosts were extremely gracious and friendly, and the site is well located and stocked. The dominant sounds during our stay were the nearby creek, with crickets and frogs to fall asleep to at night. The site was spacious and thoroughly naturally shaded, but with a spectacular low-light-pollution view of the stars in the evening. The portable toilet was immaculately clean, and the hosts provided fresh water, a picnic table, a bench with storage, secure garbage cans, levelling boards, and more. Our stay felt tremendously rejuvenating. Thank you, Tim and Molly! We greatly appreciate and have enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay at Wheat and Beans! This was our first stay at a HipCamp spot and we were apprehensive but everything was perfect. The site was exactly how portrayed in the pictures. Everything was clean and in perfect working order and it is only 10 minutes from Moscow. The hosts were really friendly and though we didn’t need any assistance they were nearby if needed.

The Idaho Panhandle
Between Washington and Montana and stretching up to Canada’s border, this forested region is ideal for winter skiing and snowboarding, plus hiking, biking, and kayaking in warmer months. Highlights include Nez Perce National Historic Park and Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, where the Pandhandle rivers are particularly beloved by whitewater rafters. Popular camping areas include Priest Lake State Park, Heyburn State Park, and Farragut State Park, and you can also find campgrounds on the Banks of Lake Pend Oreille and Lake Coeur d'Alene.
Southwest Idaho
On the border of Oregon, southwestern Idaho features lots of outdoor and cultural attractions, plus plenty of wineries and breweries. Boise, the state’s capital, is here and despite its small size, the fast-growing city has great museums and restaurants. Popular getaways from the city include Payette National Forest, Boise National Forest, Ponderosa State Park, Lake Cascade State Park, and Bruneau Dunes State Park.
Central Idaho
Characterized by alpine landscapes and crystalline lakes, central Idaho is as known for its summertime hiking as it is for its ski resorts, including the world-famous Sun Valley. Some of the best camping spots in the region include Redfish Lake in Sawtooth National Forest, Craters of the Moon National Monument, and the City of Rocks National Reserve.
Eastern Idaho
The gateway to Yellowstone National Park, eastern Idaho is chock-full of outdoor fun, from fishing on the Snake River's South Fork to cruising down the country's longest Main Street in Island Park. Summer is great for hiking and biking, while winter brings opportunities to ski and snowmobile against the backdrop of the Tetons. The region is also home to a handful of hot springs, the most famous of which is the odorless Lava Hot Springs.
When to go
The weather is an essential factor when it comes to camping. Idaho's climate is generally semi-arid, with hot summers and cold winters. The peak season for camping in Idaho is from June to August, during which campgrounds can be crowded, and reservations may be required. If the campsite is at a high elevation, it may be more suitable to visit during the late spring or summer months when the snow has melted. The best time to go camping in Idaho is during the summer months, preferably in May or September for a more peaceful experience.
Know before you go
- Research your camping options: Idaho offers a wide range of camping options, from primitive campsites to RV parks. Research your options ahead of time to find a spot that fits your needs and preferences.
