2 nights at Paradise on Mirror Lake

We stayed at site A two nights, and had a lovely time. The enchanted forest and Sasquatch trail were fun, and the birds on the lake were also a real treat. Nathaniel was attentive and kind!

2 nights at Harrison Bluffs Campground

The directions were very clear on how to get there but we easily passed the turn off. I didn’t have any service but was able to get enough service at the end of the road to check the address and saw that rv slots were too far past where I was supposed to be. I turned around and saw the small Hipcamp logos for tenting. I ordered eggs and firewood. Upon arrival the host was there to greet me with the items. Unfortunately there were 2 cars and a hammock hung up in my slot at campsite #1. They didn’t know who they belonged to since we don’t input our license plate number (That would be a great idea for the future) and no one was there. We weren’t supposed to have any camping neighbors on our visit so they weren’t sure if these people were there from the night before or if someone had snuck in. Because they couldn’t figure out whose cars were there we got to pick which ever slot we wanted to camp in because no one else was supposed to be booked during our stay. We chose slot #4 which looked to about double the size of slot #2 and I was actually glad it worked out that way because we had enough room to spread out our tent, bbq and table, our own porta potty and still have room away from the fire pit where we put our chairs. Porta potties are provided later in the season and they do have trash bins. We tied up our 2 small and 1 large dog to the trees to play and set up our hammock. After raining, the small inclined walkway became slippery. This was awesome! I havnt camped in years.

I love camping on Matt’s land!! Nice and quiet. They leave the light on for you 😂 I’m scared of the dark so glad they leave the light on for me. The best part is the kittens!!!!! I love them! I recommend Matt’s place if your ever in the area and want the farm life with the quietness. Love how the cows moo when I get home from work. I moo back 😂

the site was good for a short term stay. It’s graveled, level, water and 50 amp. No dump site. Good views of the ranch and mountains in the distance. Wouldn’t be able to set up the awning and tether it with stakes because of the gravel surface. We were parked next to the garage and provided privacy.

It was great. A nice simple building on the lake. It keeps the weather off of you. It's very simple not power(although they are planning on solar panels next year or so.) It was wonderful to watch the sun go down over the mountain. Fire buckets and a nice fire pit and plenty of dead wood around.

Accommodating hosts last minute and a beautiful spot, private with no light pollution and a beautiful vista. recommend, as others have said and the hosts too will admit probably, for experienced haulers because you will be backing up a hill. But, the host will be there to assist you. Conveniently located and low road noise. Having a gray water dump was helpful too.

Learn more about this land: This 14-foot yurt is a short walk of about 50 yards from the guest parking. You will pass our 30-ft family yurt going to your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity feed water system for the yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire inside and an outdoor shower shared by our family. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you. The lake itself is excellent for fishing, and stocked with Kokanee, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Cutthroat Trout. The stocking is typically scheduled for the first week of June each year, so if you are an angler, it's best to come after June 7th for the best fishing. Paying homage to the Bigfoot legend in northern Idaho, the theme of this campground is all things Sasquatch! Can you find all 9 Sasquatch hiding throughout the campground? Swimming in nearby Talache Landing (a.k.a. Talache Beach) on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille is an absolute must-do. The views are absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear -- and quite refreshing on a hot day. Fishing is best done in a canoe or small boat which can be put in at our campground dock (free) or at the nearby public boat ramp ($5 fee). Adjoining the property there are thousands of acres of Forest Service land and just up the road is the proposed Scotchman Peaks Wilderness Area. Beautiful Lake Pend Orielle is only eight miles away and the Clark Fork River Delta and can be accessed just down the road in Clark Fork. Bring your kayak, canoe, or longboard for unsurpassed natural beauty. If an alpine lake is your cup of tea, Antelope Lake is a short (fairly easy) 90 minute hike away, I'm told the fishing is great!

The drive/road is shared so all vehicles (2 max) must be pulled off the road and into the designated area. The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes bike trail is just on the other side of the river and trail access (and pit toilets) is less than 2 minutes away. Gas, ice and the famous Snake Pit restaurant are near Exit 43 off I-90, 5 miles up the road.

Learn more about this land: This 10 acre parcel is on a south facing slope with a forest of growing trees that are all 12 feet apart. Wildlife like deer, turkeys, and an occasional moose are common. One can walk through the woods or just sit and listen to nature all around. It's a great place for hammock camping! Two miles to the East is Lake Coeur d'Alene with great boating, kayaking, and fishing. Loffs Bay has a public boat ramp and lake access. This is not a good site for RV's! It is great for a jeep/subaru/small SUV. The trees are 12 feet apart and turning around would be difficult with an RV or trailer! The Woods in Sagle

Our property in Sagle has two separate sites but also close enough to be used as a group campsite. Each has a fire pit and picnic table. There is a porta-potty very close with a handwashing station and garbage can. Please note there is potable water in the property but not at the sites. These are dry sites without potable water, electricity, sewer hookups or dump. Initial supply of firewood supplied with additional available for purchase at a low reasonable cost. There are other traditional vacation rentals on the property including your hosts home. We are surrounded by tall trees where it is very quiet with the exception of many bird, the distant call of the trains as well as our resident owls. You will find a Lake Pend Oreille is 15 minutes away, Sandpoint is about 10 minutes away with a wonderful swimming beach and Silverwood Theme Park is about 20 minutes. There is lots to do here from fishing and hunting to boating and skiing. Come visit soon!

Riverfront Base Camp

Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Be advised the highway and river are hazardous for off-leash animals and rambunctious toddlers. Please send a message if you have any questions. I am happy to help.
