We have created this place and lived here for over 20 years. Our two boys who are 18 and 21 love to play and create their own piece of heaven. We desire to share it with others and allow them to see the magic of yurt living. We also live in a 30-ft yurt on the property that is our special place. Learn more about this land: This 14-foot yurt is a short walk of about 50 yards from the guest parking. You will pass our 30-ft family yurt and go to your own private space. The property has a great remote feeling and has space to move around. There is a queen custom bed and room for a child or two on the floor if desired. There is a small gravity-fed water system for the yurt and your own private outhouse. Plenty of wood for you to stay warm by the fire inside and an outdoor shower shared by our family. The kitchen comes with pots and pans, plates, etc. and a few extras. You will hear the sounds of nature and North Idaho at times out in your yurt as trains pass through the valley to Canada. We are 1.5 miles away from the tracks. If you are into being independent and open to new experiences then we would love to share our space with you. Please pull in the drive and pull up past the big garage and park to the left by the Yurt Parking Sign. Then walk towards the trail sign and follow the path. Recommended for you to bring a headlamp and outdoor slippers to walk to the outhouse or shower during your stay. We have towels at the yurt for your use. We can provide a Therm-a-rest bed for your child if needed. Please bring your own wood for outside fires at the fire pit. So so cozy and beautiful. The ferns were lovely and the cat and dog on the farm were so friendly. The night was surprisingly quiet. Our host was very responsive and kind. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet nature getaway with all the amenities of a home.

Cozy, simple, private yurt!

Todd’s yurt was cozy and comforting—exactly what I needed for a short escape. About 25 minutes north of Sandpoint. The yurt is within viewing distance to the family’s yurt, but faces away toward the woods, and the family absolutely respected my privacy. I will definitely visit again when I want a simple getaway.

Tranquil and Comfy

It's a tranquil private spot with a perfect set up. Super comfortable and close enough to Sandpoint and other natural attractions. The outdoor shower is totally sublime. I took lots of notes -- when I one day build a yurt set up I will imitate this one!

This yurt was the perfect winter getaway! The drive was relatively easy thanks to Todd’s instructions. There is amazing nature surroundings and it looked so beautiful in the snow. They provide lots of wood for the fireplace and all the camping cooking essentials. 5/5 stars!!

It is exactly what they say it is. A family who has selfishly shared this little slice of heaven. The Yurt, the woods, and the peace that comes with it. I’ve spent some time every season out there and it is always consistent. I almost don’t want to share this because it’s a diamond in the rough.

It was an amazing place with many thoughtful amenities and a peaceful vibe! We stayed nice and cozy and there was plenty of room for our baby's crib and our dog. Can't wait to stay again!

The directions are not accurate we really struggled to find the place. Got no response when we asked host for help. Still have not heard from the host 48hrs later. There was also a dog that we were unsure of. We didn’t end up staying. Huge disappointment

Had a quiet, lovely evening here, and gorgeous morning! We weren’t sure if we needed to let the hosts know we were there, but with a quick call were told we could walk right up. Loved the friendly cat that showed us the way down the path (apx 1 minute walk). We used the small kitchen to cook our dinner/breakfast - we brought our own supplies but used the pots/utensils/etc that were there, which was a nice surprise. The shower was really nice in the morning glow. Overall a really great and unique experience, thank you Todd and family!

What a beautiful place to stay. The yurt is tucked back in the forest behind the hosts' yurt and it was the perfect place to hide away for the night. The bed was comfortable and the skylight above it was so peaceful. If you prefer spending your downtime in the forest to staying in a hotel, you'll be very happy here. We were.

the hosts were very communicative, and the directions were spot on. the property is private and the evening was mostly quiet! the yurt itself and the property were great! the yurt is set up with truly everything you would need and even with small details like lots of hooks to hang things on. The small fridge was super helpful too. The only thing that really was missing for us was comfortable chairs to sit in around the metal fire pit. currently there are two stumps and a slotted bench to sit at, which wasnt ideal for us as we wanted to spend much time around the fire reading and hanging out. we ended up driving back into town to snag a few camping chairs that did the trick. theres a small coffee sized table and two heavy metal chairs on the yurt porch, for taking a morning coffee or playing a card game suited by a small round table. Definitely bring your own bug spray, and a flashlight. A note on firewood- currently the set up is that guests bring their own wood. The distance between the parking spot for the yurt and the actual yurt is a short walk, but hauling firewood was a tad challenging for us without a wagon. theres PLENTY of cut firewood on the property, i recommend you work with the host to come to a deal to purchase some wood for your outdoor fire, unless you have a wagon or otherwise to haul your own wood. Overall a wonderful experience and would definitely stay again.

Loved our stay in todd’s yurt! It was warm and cozy, sandpoint is only 20 minutes away, and the kitchen is well kept. It was -5 outside but 65 inside, we stayed warm all night long!

Again I had an incredible time at the little Yurt in the woods. The title may have the word little but don’t let it fool you. This little Yurt has a Huge personality of its own. The hosts, both husband and wife, make it accommodating and welcoming.

Comfy bedding in Todd’s yurt. Other reviews mentioned about Todd’s dog barking upon arrival. Luckily we are dog people, this dog is actually friendly and just wanted to sniff and say hi. She was good with our dog too. Outhouse is an outhouse but the yurt was great.

A couple nights with the deer

My Mom stayed in this yurt for a week back in May and took me here the first week in September for a couple night and it was amazing! While staying there you are surrounded by beautiful forest with all the amenities you would want. At dusk and into the night we had a family of deer come by the camp which was incredible to experience. Also, during our hikes around the area the family dog would join us and was a great companion. The overall experience was amazing and I feel completely recharged. My Mom and I will both be staying here again.

I loved staying at this sweet, homey yurt. I had a peaceful and serene experience, and it was rejuvenating to stay here in the midst of mostly camping. A great place to breathe deep and be with nature, while being cozy and comfortable.

Magical Forest Yurt Hideaway

We loved staying in the yurt. It was delightfully cozy with amazing views of the stars and very comfortable bed. Felt like a very magical forest hideaway. All the essentials are included in the yurt and some very cute touches to the outdoor seating area and beyond. Very close to a great swimming creek and some beautiful views of Idaho. Highly recommend.

Forest bathing and Canoeing

The land, the people, the yurt itself. What a wonderful grounding experience in nature, and what a magical place! Todd and Monica are so kind and hospitable. They have done an amazing job cultivating their land. Then, to share it with others is a very special thing. We even rented a canoe from Todd and went out to the Pack River inlet by Lake Pend Oreille for a bit! It was our first time but he gave us some tips. Just a heads up for the folks who aren't used to glamping, make peace with the outhouse and composting toilet experience, as well as the outdoor shower. It will change your perspective on how to live more simply, and you will feel invigorated being in harmony with the nature around you.

The yurt was cozy and well stocked, we loved the wood stove! It was so peaceful looking out into the forest and listening to the birds, and stargazing at night. The location feels remote but still close to tons of recreation and dining options. I would have liked to feel a little more secluded from the main yurt, but I think in spring/summer months the leaves would fill in the space a bit more than during our stay. Overall I would definitely recommend it and hope to return!
