The Neature Preserve (formerly known as "Tabby's Trees") consists of 74 acres made up mostly of pine forest situated in the coastal plain. A creek runs along the western boundary of the property with an ephemeral (seasonal) wetland to the southwest. The overstory of the forest is dominated by loblolly and slash pine with a few longleaf pine sprinkled in, as well as turkey oak, live oak, laurel oak, and sweetgum. We have ~1.5 miles of trails that wind through a variety of ecosystems (trails can hiked or biked). The property has three primitive camping sites. Two of the sites are for tent camping only (where you would park your car along the hiking trail and then follow a separate path to get to the campsite), with one site that has enough space to park multiple cars or small camper right at the campsite.
The Neature Preserve is all about restoring native habitat! Prescribed fire is used at The Preserve to safely and efficiently restore and maintain productive ecosystems and to support our native plant and animal species. My cousin loved to fish and purchased 100 acres of land here 50 years ago. I wound up with this part of the property which is now surrounded by Big Hammock wildlife management area. For the past 47 years I’ve gone here to enjoy the river. The Ohoopee river splits here on the opposite bank and forms a 100 acre island before flowing into the nearby Altamaha river. Usually the river flow slows and kayaking around the island is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see here with white tail deer, turkey, waterfowl, beavers, otters, feral hogs and predators. The island is a favorite roost for every species of birds. During dry periods, the Ohoopee river water gets very clear with visibility greater than 6’ at times.

I enjoyed my overnight stay by the lake. The next morning I learned so much about alpacas and llamas. The farm is gated and locked. Even though it was after dark when I arrived, their hospitality was in full display. I also bought some super soft hiking socks, and bought a scarf and a pair of gloves for my friends at the farm store. I'll be staying here again!

We absolutely loved staying at Bliss Hill Farms...Karen and Mike were amazing hosts and we adored their farm dog Ava...She was so gentle, loving, and kind...She even accompanied us on a couple of our walks! It was so peaceful and beautiful here...we will stay here again if ever in the area!!

I appreciate the opportunity to camp at Montanna's HipCamp. The primary purpose of my visit was to camp and sleep in a safe place while I was participating in a lottery draw hunting trip at nearby Coosawhatchie WMA.
Montanna provided clear and accurate directions to the property prior to my arrival. He also gave me a heads up concerning the rough road conditions leading to his property.
I arrived later than I had planned but had no problems getting to gate at the property. It was dark and raining but the gated access was easily easily entered. I pulled in and drove down the fence line to the designated camp site, turned my truck around and parked on level ground. His wife came out and greeted me, gave me a quick but thorough orientation to the amenities.
I met Montanna the next evening after returning from my days hunt. He showed me "The Man Cave" and I have to say that it is indeed impressive. I won't spoil the surprise with details but it brought back many happy boyhood memories. Montanna took his passion from a boyhood hobby and turned it into a passionate, professional and lucrative adult hobby that he is proud to share with those fortunate to be invited in.
Since I was primarily there to hunt for 3 chilly and rainy days, I did not experience the other amenities available. I did see the nice duck pond, the tire swing hanging from the oak trees, the fire pit and picnic area and an extra bonus of hearing 3 Barred Owls talking during the night.
I would love to return again

Great host! Durand helped me back into position at the site. Site is landscaped, neat, clean and peaceful. Friendly horses! Bring some carrots and apples for them and you’ll have two new friends. Entire farm is picture perfect, clean, organized, landscaped. Great night sky to see the stars around the fire pit.

This was our 2nd time there and Durand met us as we arrived and assisted my backing into the spot. This place is a working farm and it's neat, clean, landscaped, and scenic. Our site was ready when we got there and we loved the horses (bring carrots and apples), loved the peace and quiet, and the night sky.

I absolutely loved staying here—it was phenomenal! The hookup is right by the house but still close to the forest, which makes it feel private and safe. The property is very secure, no concerns at all. It’s located down a dirt road near the woods, but even with my Toyota Corolla I had no trouble driving in—never bottomed out or hesitated once. My partner also brought a 20-foot camping trailer with a Bronco and got in easily without needing four-wheel drive.
The experience was wonderful overall. The hosts are incredibly kind, hardworking, respectful, and down-to-earth. The location is fantastic—just one hour between two major cities. During our trip we visited 15 islands in 2 days and enjoyed amazing seafood. Truly no complaints here! Highly recommend.

Stayed at Montanna's property for two nights and all went well! The campsite I originally booked for was unavailable upon arrival but we found another spot easy-peasy which worked just as well for us. Loved that my dogs could be off leash the entire time and the hosts made us feel comfortable in their space. They have a beautiful large yard that we were happy to just chill in when we weren't hiking or visiting Savannah.

Exactly as advertised! Durand met us at the driveway, which is long and a bit narrow at a curve, but we had no problem with our 36' motorhome AND our towed F-150. He guided me as I backed into the spot next to the barn and horse field. Full hookup spot. Quiet place as we sat around the fire pit. Friendly horses who loved watermellon... Easy in and out of Statesboro and a great night sky view too! We will be back! Durand and Brooke were excellent hosts!

Very quiet. Peaceful. No one was around and that’s ok by me. We never saw another person. Just the duck🥰
What was confusing to me were the directions to the site itself, not the location on map. But we made it work.
The site was right up by the house, we had to drive under a bunch of beautiful old growth oak trees. The sewer is on the left, the power and water are on the right. For our trailer (pulled straight in) this meant we had to get very close to the connector so our hoses and cables were long enough. We didn’t use the sewer since it was just a night.
We appreciate them hosting us even though we probably should have gotten a larger site for our medium trailer. 29 ft. That’s my fault.

I loved tent camping here! Me, a buddy, and my doggo camped under the trees here for 2 nights. The place is great and well taken care of and the host Lorine was a dream Super Host! She let us use her spring water to top off our containers, sprayed the grounds with anti-bug spray, and checked on us occasionally to make sure we needed anything while also giving us a tour of her grounds! Loved sharing stories with you Lorine! Will definitely be back here again.
