Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.

My cousin loved to fish and purchased 100 acres of land here 50 years ago. I wound up with this part of the property which is now surrounded by Big Hammock wildlife management area. For the past 47 years I’ve gone here to enjoy the river. The Ohoopee river splits here on the opposite bank and forms a 100 acre island before flowing into the nearby Altamaha river. Usually the river flow slows and kayaking around the island is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see here with white tail deer, turkey, waterfowl, beavers, otters, feral hogs and predators. The island is a favorite roost for every species of birds. During dry periods, the Ohoopee river water gets very clear with visibility greater than 6’ at times. This is a beautiful piece of property. Lots of room to explore and the river is even passable by kayak at low water levels. A very peaceful place.

Perfect riverside seclusion

Perfect riverside oasis!! Easy access boat ramp for kayaks or canoes. Tons of space and trails to roam in the adjacent wildlife management area. Definitely plan to return!!! Only a few people wandered down the trail on side by sides, but waved and left once they realized we were camping.

New years eve overnight.

3-Way River

Nice area right by the river. Very peaceful and even got a catfish. Google will get you close but not at the cul-de-sac, not to hard to figure out just by looking at the map. If the river is up it may we a little wet walking in. If it is in flood stage it will be covered. With a little work could be awesome.

Well due to my own mistakes I did not stay that evening. I'm actually not positive I found the spot, there was no mention of tree stands and feeders on the property and that was the only place I saw, maybe I should have walked farther? A few small signs indicating where to go would be nice. Would need to go again and actually stay to give a full review.
