We have walking trails, a pond where you can kayak, relax on the dock, or feed the huge fish (sorry no fishing allowed.) Years ago we left our Miami handcrafted furniture business to pursue this new goal. At Heirloom Hamlet, you will see us designing unique, functional cottages, using solar energy, composting organics, sewing and reaping, in a way that is fair to our environment. We're bread baking, pasta making, timber milling, woodworking, clay-forming and metal pounding. The goal is to evolve into a small world of self-reliance and harmony with nature.
Through good design, our goal is to show just how "normal" slow, simple living can feel. We all have personal priorities, and those will vary greatly. But within that, we can all include ways of being respectfully mindful to the earth and to our neighbors.
Visiting with us, we sure hope our guests don't expect to find a corporate approach to life here, that they can appreciate our perspectives and some of our old-fashioned ways. Our presentation at Heirloom Hamlet has been purposefully designed to be a refreshing hideaway from the norm. You can imagine, it has been a ton of work, sacrifice and expense to create a very special camp atmosphere. Any donation to show appreciation for its use, if even for a single night, is a valuable support to our efforts.

A place you can really connect with nature without being far from creature comforts or the traveling roads, this type of camping is not for everyone- so please understand it is Primitive Camping style, raw land with neighbors but distanced and protected by trees for serenity. Low to no road noise from HWY 321. Park in the open area or into the space under the trees….

We had such a wonderful stay at Rick’s campsite. The spot is set to the right of his home with a concrete pad so an easy set up. Our view from the door was fantastic — a wide-open field, and perfect for relaxing. The sunrise was beautiful. The entire area was clean, well kept, and clearly cared for. It felt safe and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our time there and would happily stay again. Thank you Rick for your hospitality.

So peaceful and Sam the puppy is so cute. Their grandson was staying there for a time and my son loved being able to play with him. Will was also kind in humoring my kid when he asked lots of questions.
The neighbor’s dogs are also super sweet if you see them, very submissive.

We loved camping on Ricki’s property! We booked the field & pond site, which was very beautiful. It was a bit warm down by the water so we asked to move to higher ground between the large growth trees and the breeze & sunset was so nice from that spot. Ricki was so nice and accommodating, she brought us fresh eggs and homemade jam, which were both very delicious. We loved getting to walk around the property after our long drive and see the farm animals, including the newly born calf! This place was a magical little gem & we’ll definitely will be back when in the area again!

We love this spot it was really easy to get to and minutes away from the hwyand town. The pull thru sites where great and very easy to navigate in our class a and car in tow. Very nice and gracious host who took great care before I arrived to set up my campsite so that it was free of leaves, sticks, or any debris that might otherwise result in having bumpy or uneven tent floor.
There were plenty of subtle soft solar paneled security lights hanging from trees or attached to outbuildings to ensure that campers could get their way around at night if they needed to make a bathroom run from the tent to the designated location.
The camping area was secure, safe, and had a charming atmosphere about it, and for the price, can't be beat. I'll make it a point to come again if I ever have occasion to camp in the area.

I had a wonderful stay and cannot recommend Heirloom Hamlet enough. The communication was great from the start, with Curt providing clear and helpful information well before I arrived.
Upon pulling in, I was met with genuine warmth and kindness. The hosts showed me around the property, helping me to feel right at home, and the amenities they provide went above and beyond my expectations.
The property itself is stunning, filled with artistic and creative touches that make the buildings and grounds feel truly unique. The natural setting was really lovely and peaceful. It was the perfect place for my morning walk with my coffee.
Location-wise, it was perfect for me; conveniently close to the highway, but tucked away enough to be quiet and restful. I’m so appreciative of the hospitality and hope to visit again in my travels.
