The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. We are just far enough away not to be intrusive, but near enough if you need assistance.

We had a wonderful time tent camping here! It was very private and peaceful! Largest camping site we’ve ever had! The swing pictured in the listing was broken when we arrived which was a disappointment for our kiddos but we will definitely be back for more camping trips and maybe it’ll be fixed then! The creek was a wonderful spot to have coffee with the large rocks for sitting!

I had a wonderful stay on JoLane and Sam's place. JoLane offered prompt replies and all information needed for arrival. Sam (a veteran) met me and guided me to Site 4. We had a nice chat about local going-ons... all the more making me feel at home. The site was just right for my Colorado and 16ft camper. That being said, this site would be perfect for single or multiple tent camping! I enjoyed the peaceful feeling of being in remote, deep woods... without really being far away from conveniences or access to major roads. Do yourself a favor a spend a night or two here!

The site was big, pleasantly tucked away, and I could hear the stream from my hammock. Loved smelling the pine needles as I got out of my car. I did hear some distant coyotes and highway noise, but the white noise of the water blocked most of it. Felt very safe and unbothered despite knowing some other properties were nearby. Will definitely be back!

6 nights at Sun Valley Horse & Hiking Camp!
This was such a fun place to stay! The weather wasn't the best the week I was there, rainy and cold. But nevertheless the experience of staying at a working stable was fun. Every morning the horses get fed, then let out of their stables into the fields. And every evening they get brought back in. I stayed around the back of the main stable next to the juvenile pen. They have 2 youngsters who I ended up making friends with. If you can't tell I'm not a horse person. But being able to stay at Sun Valley, I'm learning to love them! Definitely worth the stay. Note: you're staying amongst the stables, so expect flies and smells. Enjoy the atmosphere! It's all part of the experience!

Scott was incredibly nice guy. Love what he is building at the Golden Goose. Living the dream! Showers and toilets are built ans is the party shed and they may not yet show on his page. This was just a “passing through” trip for us and he is a little off the beaten path but worth the few minutes to get there. Maybe 20 minutes from the Buc-ees at Warner Robbins so you’ve got everything….and a beautiful drive to get there!!

Communitowhee (or Towhee) Farm is the rebirth of a retired, 19th century tenement estate located in the Mvskoke Indian territory of Milledgeville, GA. The land is divided into a working, 40+ acre pine forest and a 1-acre tract envisioned as an organic produce farm. On the 1-acre tract, in the pecan grove next to the tiny home where you'll be staying, there is 120v electrical as well as a water hookup. We also have tiki torches and a fire pit for spending time around the fire in the evening. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! All fires must be contained inside the designated hubcap chiminea. Do not attempt to build any fires outside of this container. All fires must be fully extinguished when unattended. We welcome you to join us for an evening or a few on our homestead! The microfarm is complete with D.I.Y. designs; fruit trees, raised beds, composting bins, a bat house, water-catchment barrels, a fruit/vegetable sun-dryer, and a 11-by-40-foot greenhouse. It's our home and humble work in progress community vision. Currently in residence are our domestic and farm cats, some of whom you may meet during your stay. Every step of Communitowhee’s growth has been taken with deep thought and consideration for the health and history of its land. Each infrastructure design has been and will continue to be built from sustainable, up and recycled materials to minimize environmental impact. And, whether it be converting a traditional garden bed into a self-irrigating wicking bed or figuring out how to affix new tires to an antique Radio Flyer wagon — every project has been achieved through grit, trial-and-error, tons of YouTube videos, and the inherited instincts of many centuries of farming ancestors. During the growing season you might find: Eggplant, tomatoes, yellow squash, cucumbers, jalapeno peppers, bell peppers, green onions, garlic chives, kale, collards, cabbage, lettuce, watermelon, cantaloupe, and various herbs basil, turmeric, dandelion, dog fennel, mint, pear, plum, blackberries and fig trees as well as many varieties of blueberry. Garden paradise in the heart of the city! I'm a former vanlifer, WWoofer, and current gardener/Wild Foraging Teacher who still loves camping even though I am currently renovating this cabin built in 1900. The cabin sits on a large lot and I also own the lot next door, which is where the campsites are. There are two site spaces and a fire ring in the middle. There is an outside water faucet close by with city water. Guests who need to check email may visit the front porch and use the guest wifi password that I share with Airbnb guests to the cabin. Since I sometimes host guests at the cabin, you can be sure to hear some excellent travel stories while here.
