Weekend Trip to Deer Valley RV Park

What a simple yet beautiful campground and site. We were looking for a campground near the softball field and wow did we hit the jackpot! Spacious and simple. We even had a fireflies fill the evening fun. Definitely plan to camp here again! The host was always available for any questions we may of had and was very hospitable.

Weekend Trip to Coweeta Creek Campground

What a fantastic time! My husband and I and my bestie and her boyfriend all camped at site 3 with covered awning, which was a great space combining creekfront and a covered space to chill when it was raining. Loved the chickens, the quiet, and the hosts! The hosts checked in with us and were definitely available w/o being intrusive. Bathhouse dated but still very clean and usable, and what water pressure! We’re looking forward to coming back, absolutely recommend.

1 night at Mountain Riders Riverfront Camping

This was my second time here, I loved setting up my tent by the water again. The views of the mountains are beautiful, and lots of fireflies come out at dusk. The other sites are far enough away to have some privacy, and you can park your car in the grass right on the site. I was actually switched over to site 9 on the end, which was closer to the front bathhouse. I definitely felt safe camping solo, and Ed was kind enough to reach out and make sure to give me directions and a code to the bathhouse.

This was our first Hipcamp experience and it didn’t disappoint. Melisa is an all start host and our spot by the creek was just awesome and peaceful. Clean bathroom and great location. We will be back for sure

Weekend Trip to Coweeta Creek Campground

We loved camping at Melissa's campsite. The scenery is great, and the creek is a true refreshing summertime treat. Loved the nearby chicken coop, the rooster was a pretty chill guy, not too loud in the morning. The stargazing at night was fantastic. We had a short drive to the national forest roads for some hiking. And we bought some of Melissa's honey, can't wait for our current honey to run out so we can try it.

3 nights at Winding Stair Campground

What a great place to stay for a weekend! Was closed to the town to visit and tour around, but also the location was great just to enjoy! Got to visit their farm and loved the mill. The bathrooms were well stocked and very clean. Having a shower was great, especially if your kids play in the river as much as ours did. Would highly recommend this place. We plan on coming back in the future.

7 nights at Coweeta Creek Campground

My husband and I just spent a week at the Coweeta Creek Campground and it was the most peaceful camping trip we have ever had. This small campground has large campsites that are right on the creek. Every night we ate dinner and sat outside listening to the creek and watching the fireflies put on an amazing show. The campground has a nice bathhouse which was always clean and well stocked. The trees around the campsite gave us loads of shade we never had to put out the awning for shade. We will definitely be camping here again. Melissa and Adam were the perfect hosts.

Weekend Trip to Deer Valley RV Park

This was the perfect spot to stay while my daughter had a softball tournament in Dalton, GA. Everything was new and immaculate. Even though it’s surrounded by other houses and businesses it was incredibly quiet and peaceful. It felt like we were the only people around. It’s also very close to a Food Lion for groceries. I’m so glad that we found this place and I will be recommending it to everyone I know who camps and heads to the area for softball.

The place was amazing, we camped right near the dock. The people at the distillery like Ben were incredibly friendly, and gave us some samples. Would 100% go back. Only thing I wish they had was some potable water so we didn’t have to create so much trash with water bottles.

Blueberry Hill campsite was everything I needed for my yearly trip of solitude and reflection. The views are spectacular from watching the sunrise to seeing the bright stars light up a completely pitch black sky was incredible. I walked down to the campsites on the river and those were amazing as well. I will definitely be back. As others have said the drive up is not for the week or inexperienced, there’s about 5 miles of rocky terrain on essentially a one lane road wrapping around the mountain. Then to get up to blueberry Hill it is a straight up narrow, chunky stone drive. Totally worth it!

2 nights at Chattooga Belle Farm Lakeside

This was our second visit to Chattooga Belle Farms and we will definitely be back. The grounds are spectacular, the Bistro serves delicious lunches and the Distillery is fun and unique. Shout out to Ben, Brian and Eric who all went out of their way to welcome us. Ben’s help in getting our RV setup was invaluable. It’s a beautiful part of the country with many great hiking trails, water sports and incredible waterfalls. Make the most of your time at Chattooga Belle Farms and the surrounding area.

My husband and I stayed with our 2 dogs and thoroughly enjoyed little snowbird farm! We stayed at both big Ian and site 6 along the creek. Wonderful little hidden gem nestled away in the mountains. Both sites had their pros. Being next to the creek offered us plenty of water and a nice way to cool off, while the mountain offered spectacular views and the privacy we prefer, especially with having dogs. Andrew was a great host and we look forward to returning in the future.

4 nights at Magical Mountain Resorts

We absolutely LOVED Magical Mountain Resorts! The entire property was fun, clean, and well-kept. The attention to detail that was provided all throughout the property was incredible. The dozen or so petting zoo animals were enjoyable and their paddock was kept so clean. The creek and the decorations, games, sandbox, and swings around it were so delightful for our young children who played until well past dark each night. The bath house was always in beautiful order. Truly could not have had a better experience and we will definitely return here whenever we make it to this part of NC again!

Weekend Trip to Chattooga Belle Farm Lakeside

This was our first hipcamp experience, and we didn't know what to expect. It ended up being perfect for the weekend! We had our canoe so we spent a lot of time on the lake. The lake was small, and the swimming area was great. We were able to pull our van down close to the water and found a level spot. We had our dog with us and he had a great time as well. Very chill. Overall, highly recommend! The only complaint, and it is minor, was that the outhouse stunk.

The pond is in the middle of about a 4 acre area that is totally forested & makes a great place to get away from the madness of life & get into nature. Our street ends in a cul-de-sac, minimizing traffic in the area, but the spot is right along a street. You will be able to see & hear cars going by the site. On the other hand, it is also right along a deer path & just this morning I saw 2 does & a baby walking through the site. There is a resident hawk & a gaggle of turkeys that live in the area in addition to pileated woodpeckers & all sorts of other birds. Come check it out and please let us know if you have any questions. Learn more about this land: We would love to have you at the Pond at Dogwood Acres. Our pond is just a little pond, but it is full of life and makes for a cozy little campsite. You will be the only ones camping here. There is a long parking spot suitable for cars/SUVs/trucks and even a trailer or pop up. There are hiking trails leading into the woods at the right side of the end of the drive. Feel free to enjoy them. We are surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest and here in Towns County we are 80% National Forest. Lake Chatuge is close by (less than 10 minutes) in Hiawassee has 132 miles of shoreline. The Appalachian Trail weaves all through the area and you can get to numerous access points for the AT within about 30 minutes. There are a many waterfalls throughout our area within about a 30 minute drive as well. The closest is Cupid Falls just behind Young Harris College. Fire's Creek in Hayesville is a favorite spot. Otherwise you can head towards Vogel State Park and find many more. Head north on state road 66 heading out of Young Harris towards Warne, North Carolina. Travel almost 4 miles passing 339 and then make a right on Brasstown Lane. If you see mile marker 4 or get to Warne, you passed it. Once you turn onto Brasstown Lane it will be on the right side. Coming from North Carolina head south on 66 out of Warne and make a left onto Brasstown Lane. We are about 1 mile south of the North Carolina state line. We are somewhat in the middle of Blairsville (GA), Hiawassee (GA) and Hayeville (NC). Not far from us is the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and just a bit further is Murphy, NC. 34'58'45.1"N 83'52'49.7"W On a larger scale, we are right in the middle of and about 2 hours from Atlanta, Asheville and Chattanooga. At Horseshoe Trails, we pride ourselves on our fully equipped, lighted RV sites, each featuring 30-foot concrete pads, a deck or concrete patio, a table, and a BBQ grill. For your convenience, we provide laundry facilities and wireless internet access. Our accommodations include eight spacious cabins that can sleep six guests and three smaller cabins for four. Tent sites are also available for owners and cardholders of Mountain Lakes Resort. While all rentals are non-smoking and not pet-friendly, our campground RV sites welcome pets, provided they are leashed and cleaned up after.
