This was our first Hipcamp experience and the bar has been set pretty high. The location is so beautiful between the water, the huge oaks and the wildlife. It is a nature-lover, fishermen or birdwatchers paradise. It was great that our dogs could safely roam. Surprisingly quiet on and off water and friendly neighbors. Great place to kayak (2 kayaks and canoe also provided) Grocery store / gas station about 15-20 mins away if needed for forgotten necessities, drinking water etc. We had a little trouble backing out our 21 foot trailer when leaving but are also new to hauling a trailer. Would definitely return!

Enjoyed my stay. It was a quick overnight passing through. Nice quiet, clean spot to land. Communication was stellar and camp host, Kathy , was wonderful. I believe I actually stayed at site two which was a nice pull through with a great view. Kathy switched me up since it was available. I had a nice walk about and dipped my feet into the river at the boat ramp. Cool dark water. Loved it!

If you want a real deal Florida natural vacation, this is exactly where you want to be. Immaculately clean with a huge paved parking / hang out area plus a lush grassy lawn. Easy in and out for our truck and travel trailer. The host was perfect. Helpful whenever needed but not overly involved. Having access to our own dock, a fenced yard for our pup and the stunning views of sky and water surrounding us made for an ideal vacation.

Margaret met us at the entrance to her property in her golf cart and we followed her the short distance to the site. She helped me back in to the site so that the (full w/30 amp) hookups were close to our RPod 192. She offered her assistance to anything we would need and she placed two items on the picnic table - a pretty flower in a glass vase and a bag of brochures with local information. I purchased a bundle of firewood from her and enjoyed an evening fire. We live 500 miles away and discovered that we know a relative of hers who taught our son in fourth grade. It’s a small world! The site itself is very peaceful and small signs describe the different types of vegetation and bird feeders adorn the property and they attract a multitude of birds. She offered us a method of securing the gate to our site but I declined as I had no fear for our safety. We were there to visit two of my wife’s brothers and their wives who live nearby so we spent most of our visit with them. We did go to church in Fernandina and then had dinner at a restaurant nearby (The Boat House). So we really saw very little of the many local attractions but realize that we want to return to explore some of them. We highly recommend this Hip Camp (it was a first time using HC and I am sure it won’t be our last). Margaret is a gracious host, her property is beautiful and the fee is very fair.
