Running Water Creek is a unique, fully off grid campground just 20 minutes to downtown Chattanooga. We have 80+ campsites spread out over 120 acres. Most of the roads are accessible in any small car, but some roads require 4x4 (they're marked with a sign). We have a bath house with toilets, showers, and sinks and even offer hot water! Our well and cabins are all solar-powered as we are not on the electric grid. Some info about the property: -we DO NOT have water or power hookups -we have gravel roads with a 5 MPH speed limit on the property (if you drive too fast the roads will seem rough) -we are right next to a highway and train tracks so there will be some noise (some days are better than others and we have no way of predicting how many trains will/will not go by) -none of our campsites have picnic tables (please plan accordingly) -most campsites have fire rings built, but if you choose a site without one you need to build your own

We live on the property, and it is a working homestead. We have chickens (roosters crowing too, sometimes in early hours - sorry about that). We ask that you keep your dogs *at your camp site at all times* (we have had camper's dogs run through the field at us and scare us to pieces and we'd rather not experience that again! lol) Enjoy the sounds of the creek and put your tent on level land. this site is amazing and exactly as advertised. we stayed 2 nights with our 3 boys (mini schnauzers) and enjoyed every second. it was too hot to be outside for too long but in the fall this would be even more ideal. great lake view, peaceful and away from all noise except nature. look forward to visiting again.

We stayed in "The Hole" and it was like you were in a fairytale forest. That site was stunning. Not the one we originally went for but we were not disappointed. Not any steady wifi, so if you have to work bring a hotspot to connect to because there is not a 'unprivate' one to hook up to.

This was a repeat visit for us, but as always we loved this campsite. Super private, full hook ups and quiet at night what more could you ask for. Peter is great to talk with and is always helpful if you need anything. Already planning another visit in the fall, might just need to make this an annual trip.

Very private, huge site. We stayed 4 nights only left once for a winery. Caught some bass and bluegill on a Arbogast Hula Popper and some catfish on Canadian Crawlers. Lake was perfect for kayaks.

Wonderful private property tucked away in the country. Clean water, fun to fish and swim!! So awesome of Mike to provide amenities and allow dogs. We will be back!!

Weekend Trip to Lakefront get away

Amazing secluded spot. All hookups available. Great scenery from your temporary home. Has a dock to fish from. This was our first trip with the new travel trailer and were able to bring our two dogs with us for their first camping trip. Towed a 2026 wolf pup 16cm (23feet long) with a 2025 Ford Ranger and still had plenty of room. Mike made sure we knew if we need anything to not hesitate to ask. We didn’t need anything but always nice to have excellent hosts. The campsite was clean.

6 nights at Sky High Ridge RV Campground

High on the mountain top with cool breezes and lush greenery while there in June. Short drive to both Clayton & The Highlands. Cute pathways and a garden. We used some of the potatoes and onions out of it. Wildlife we saw, groundhog, bunnies, deer, chipmunk and fireflies! Peter is the best host ever! Highly recommend.

Great new RV park. Quite nights and mornings!!! Clean and well kept. Met the owner that lives at the bottom of the hill in the big metal building. Nice man, will be back.

Great site with plenty of great space. The creek is amazing. The site WiFi was a plus! I would go back there again!

We enjoyed our long weekend and wished it wouldn’t have been so rainy that we could have enjoyed some kayaking. Our plan is to come back again and enjoy another getaway.
