When the "blue roof cottage by the tracks" (yes, it used to have a unique blue roof) hit the market in early 2021, we knew it had to be ours! We had a wonderful stay at Twin Cedars. The location is perfect, 20 minutes ride to the old city of St Augustine, the beach, the restaurants, the shops... The place itself has everything: it's a large backyard where you have the facilities to do everything outdoor: the dishes, take a hot shower, use the dry toilet, eat at the dinner set, use the BBQ, and they even have a spa. We were also able to do our laundry. Our hosts Karin and Phil were super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place.

A buddy and I truck camped on campsite 1 here in early March. There were no skeeters and the night time temperatures were excellent. I like that the camp spaces have generous room. The bathrooms were a nice surprise and well kept. Everything was first class. We will come here again when the river rises.

This is a great little campground, if you want to get away from it all! I kept waiting for the weather to cooperate (was a bit chilly!) to go out in my kayak on the nearby river, but the one day it might’ve been OK I already had plans to be nearby on Jekyll Island. Ron and the campground host Kathy were both very welcoming and helpful.

The site was spacious, well cared for and easy to find. Kenny was an excellent communicator and I was happy to be able to refill my freshwater tank after a mishap. I set up near a large tree which offered cooling shade. Easy entry and egress via a keypad to open the gate.

It is very nice setup up with the concrete pad. Quiet little town, until a train comes through. But I slept through the night. no problem. I think trains go through about every 45 minutes to an hour and a half. I was speaking to a train spotter and he said about 3500 rail cars go by every day. Town main street is very small with a few businesses but most were closed on Mondays.

It’s hard to put into words how my camping experience was at Blackwater Ranch Campground… serene, relaxing. Three days wasn’t enough, so I extended it two more days and I had the campground to myself the whole time, just me and my doggie and he didn’t have to be on a leash. The host was awesome! He welcomed me and gave me a complementary bundle of wood to get me started. I came to rejuvenate myself and I’m so incredibly sad to leave! But I’m sure anyone would be sad leaving here to go back to Minnesota 😭. It was such a blessing. I recommend it to everyone! The perfect little getaway! White sand beaches along the river. Nice little walking paths in the woods. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We took advantage of having water and electric hookups during our visit and know there were other spots for Boonedocking. We parked right beside the pond and enjoyed some time fly fishing. The campsite was quiet and the grounds provided plenty of room for our boxer to walk. We recommend checking Kenny’s Hipcamp out. You won’t regret it.

This was a very nice spot.. a few minutes from town. Camping spot is a little nook surrounded by woods next to a big clearing. There was a picnic table and fire ring. It was quite peaceful and felt very safe. There’s a very nice outhouse across the clearing with a composing toilet.. very clean with all the necessary accessories supplied. Rebecca was very responsive with communication and made sure all was good for my stay. I very much enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it if in the area.

I did not want to leave. I stayed for 4 days with my dogs and it was the most relaxed we’ve been on a cross country trip. There were cows to watch, resident geese, ducks and lots of other birds around to observe. The pond was perfect for the kayak and my dogs to swim whenever they wanted. Full hook ups were easy to use. Host was excellent with communication and was happy we were happy. 100 percent would stay again.

This was our third trip out here. We usually book one of the larger sites, but this one was perfect for a weekend with my son.
Site #2 is simple, quiet, and private. Easy drive up access. Plenty of room for a tent and a solid fire setup. The river access is the highlight. Calm water. Clean shoreline. Great spot for morning coffee and winding down at night.
If you are bringing a larger group, book one of the bigger sites on the property. For two people, this one is dialed in.
Host communication was clear and consistent as always.
We will be back.

Man let me tell you ! The view and all of the things they have for u to add to your trip or to play with was the best part , the rentals are spaced out so your not stacked ontop of each other , the noise isn’t loud at all you can hear the cars driving at night and the neighbors shooting in the morning lol I liked it .. but all the small town store and nice people in those towns make up for it ! Our fav breakfast spot was hobos ! Pretty dang good ! 10/10 host and rental sight we have three dogs and they made it very easy for us to have privacy and room for our animals without a negative experience, we have a reactive pup so a private space was very much needed ! I recommend the water and electric hook up sight for us that was the perfect view and easy for us to hose down our tent to keep out pups cool Will be back again ! 10/10 experience fishing was okay need to come back when river is higher but the host had great advice to fish !

We showed up at Deep Bend Landing for just a nights stay while passing through. Passing through sounds interesting in this area because this campground is waaaaay back in the country, but my wife and I are photographers—having a hobby side with abandonment, etc. There’s plenty of this genre in the deep country of Georgia.
Even though I didn’t get the notifications, Ron worked hard to contact us so we would not be lost when we got there. Meeting with a smile and handshake, he showed us to our location and offered any answers to questions we had.
A little about the campground. This is a no frills location. While that does not appeal to some, it’s an absolutely dreamboat to people like my wife and I. The area was so peaceful and the campground was extremely quiet and peaceful—despite having multiple spots filled. The sites were spacious with lots of shade. This is the PERFECT campground for people who just want time in nature—camping. While we were just passing through this time, we’ve discussed returning on another date to possibly stay for a few days and comb the area for photography treasures.

My bestie has stayed here a few times and loves it. We were looking for a stop halfway way through are drive home and I suggested it. He wanted to make sure i understood it was not going to be quiet, I had purchased ear plugs for this stop. The grounds were clean and well maintained. Yes there were trains that went by but honestly it did not affect my sleep. It was really neat to experience it and I would definitely return.
