To note for all guests: We suggest arriving before dark so as to make set up easy and comfortable. Osceola National Forest is 200,000 acres of exploration with your name on it! In the northeastern Floridian forest, pine flatwoods and cypress-hardwood swamps surround, with diverse wildlife abound. In this leafy paradise lives gopher tortoises (they act like gophers, but are tortoises!), alligators, black bears, and the skunk ape, also known as the “stink ape,” which bears an uncanny resemblance to bigfoot. Areas of recreation include Ocean Pond--a fave place for boaters, skiiers, and campers, and Olustee Beach for swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The park is also open to hunters and fishermen with permits. With so much land to explore in this National Forest, we wouldn’t be surprised if bigfoot was hiding in there!

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Looking for your own private campsite convenient to the area's rivers, springs and trails? Evening temps are rising to 40s and 50s with daytime temps in the 60s to 70s. It's "smoke on the water" season as the local fresh spring and river water is warmer than the air -- always around 70F or 21C degrees year round!
Moonlit Avenue is a great base location from which to enjoy many areas nearby for fresh water swimming, paddling, boating or fishing via public parks and private outfitters. Close to Rum Island Park, Ginnie Springs Recreation Park, and Gilchrist Blue Springs and Ichetucknee State Parks.
* A private treelined driveway leads to the primitive campsite with bathhouse nearby where the deer (and sometimes turkeys) have a regular route along with other forest animals and insects; birds abound in the trees. Goats, chickens (including a rooster), shy feral cats and domesticated dogs nearby.
* Private and serene primitive camping area in a forested riverfront neighborhood with a great public boat ramp on the Santa a short walk away. The campsite is located on the back acre with cleared areas for tents and vehicles. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. Spring well water access via hose at the campsite or at bathhouse with shower, sink and toilet.
* Birds especially love this area and the serenade from the treetops gets better each year with a wide variety of bird songs. Owls reside nearby and bats have also been known to fly in the sundowning sky! Make sure to bring a blanket for sitting around the campfire and stargazing if temps get into the 60s or below overnight.

When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

It's "smoke on the water" season as the local fresh spring and river water is warmer than the air -- always around 70F or 21C degrees year round!
Moonlit Avenue is a great base location from which to enjoy many areas nearby for fresh water swimming, paddling, boating or fishing via public parks and private outfitters. Close to Rum Island Park, Ginnie Springs Recreation Park, and Gilchrist Blue Springs and Ichetucknee State Parks.
* A private treelined driveway leads to the primitive campsite with bathhouse nearby where the deer (and sometimes turkeys) have a regular route along with other forest animals and insects; birds abound in the trees. Goats, chickens (including a rooster), shy feral cats and domesticated dogs nearby.
* Private and serene primitive camping area in a forested riverfront neighborhood with a great public boat ramp on the Santa a short walk away. The campsite is located on the back acre with cleared areas for tents and vehicles. Picnic tables and fire rings are provided. Spring well water access via hose at the campsite or at bathhouse with shower, sink and toilet.
* Birds especially love this area and the serenade from the treetops gets better each year with a wide variety of bird songs. Owls reside nearby and bats have also been known to fly in the sundowning sky! Make sure to bring a blanket for sitting around the campfire and stargazing if temps get into the 60s or below overnight.

Loved Bowman’s and will definitely go back! Site #2 was right next to the launch so it was easy to get our kayaks in the river. The site was tucked just enough away from the rest of the property that you had some quiet without feeling completely isolated. The hosts were kind and available to help. They have wood for purchase on site which was really nice. The indoor bathroom was a great feature especially with the hot shower. They also have a microwave and coffee maker in a communal space. Ichetucknee Springs park was only a ~10 min drive away too if you want to explore outside of camp.

Off the beaten path is this secluded peaceful campground. I felt safe as a solo camper. This space was peaceful and not too far from stores like Publix and dollar tree. But it was definitely in the woods so you will be one with nature. I would highly recommend for families and solo campers. OH and I was very grateful for the nightlights hung around the trees because it's pitch black at night but the lights made it more cozy.

Quaint grounds away from city life! I did not meet the host, but a family member, and he could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The out house is very clean and the shower is outdoor but not heated. It’s enough privacy to be modest and enough water pressure to get you clean. The sites are well maintained and spacious so there is room for privacy and the surrounding area is quiet! The camp was easy to find and at the time of stay (winter) no bugs or wildlife bothering you. It’s also close enough to town you can drive in for meals or supplies. And the amount of outdoor activity near by is fantastic. I would definitely stay again if I were traveling in the area.

This was a beautiful site! Perfect for a family or small group. The path back can be a bit tight but I was able to get my 12' utility trailer back there. Not sure if you could make the turns with anything larger.

This place was amazing! Very peaceful place, with tons to do. They had a coffee bar with a community fridge, and a grill area with tons of options to use. Also the restroom area was very clean and they provided heaters or fans in there. There is a sand pile for the kids with tonka trucks to play, 2 swings around the grounds, boats, and my favorite part was the bicycles to use!! There is only 2 tents sites, we stayed on #2 which I recommend for a perfect view of the river. Also the cabins were really cool, especially the two in the woods away from thr river if you want to be secluded. The hosts were very friendly, offering tons of advice on the area, even told us to go across the river fkr hiking the war grounds to hunt for artifacts which we had no idea was there. I cant wait to go back!!

This is a good property and we are likely to come again, if the need arises.
We stayed 3 Days/2 Nights. Other than the automated message from HipCamp, the Host made no contact. The instructions were informative and the land/site was as pictured. Thank you for the amount of pictures on the listing. It makes it easy to see what we need or are getting into.
We parked 3 vehicles on site. So that was 2 trucks with roof top tents and 1 vehicle with a ground tent. This site could easily have 4 vehicles and 8 people, but Host permission would be needed.
You can see houses through the brush, but there is plenty of privacy. It's way better than any State Park could do.
If you plan on being rowdy, I'd doubt this is the place for you. We are a quieter group and this was perfect. There is a huge table with a 2" slab top. It's easy to position a 10x10 canopy over if needed. The firepit is a large tractor rim. We have a foldable grill that we used two of our large firewood logs to cook between.
The stars were easy to view as the site had little tree coverage directly overhead.
There is the sound of peacocks, best that I can tell, late in the afternoon, but they quiet down before too long into the dark. They make an odd sound and were distant, but noticeable. We also heard a coyote and neighbor dogs, but both were random and short-lived.
We saw a fawn as we drove onto the property and 2 armadillos later in the night. Cardinals and a red-shouldered hawk for the birdwatchers.

Betsy's property is fantastic! This is our third stay here and we love it. So close to all the places we want to go. City Parks, Paynes Prairie, and breweries! It's a great place to spend a weekend or a week! The property is a beautiful little slice of nature on the edge of the city. 30amp service, good water pressure, and sewer are easy to locate and connect to. Oh, and Betsy is an absolute treat, so nice and pleasant! You won't regret booking here, I am already planning our fourth trip!

We loved this site, the bathroom and potable water accommodations exceeded our expectations. The other sites are within 100-150ft of one another but it still felt private. The host are very welcoming and helped us out when we had some car problems and were mindful of the freezing temperatures and brought us some extra fire wood. Overall a great experience and we will be looking to come back in the summer time.
