Weekend Trip to Patmos Island

Craig was a great host, easy going and personable. Staying at Craig’s place was our second Hipcamp experience, and it was everything we could have asked for. The RV space is simply appointed with all the services, and access was unencumbered in our 24’ class-C motorhome. The neighborhood felt safe and provided a great place to walk our cattledog, Indigo. Fortunately Craig’s dog is easygoing and friendly like his “owner.” He tolerated our not so easygoing and not so friendly 11 year old Indigo girl. We would certainly stay here again should we ever find ourselves traveling down the east coast of Florida.

We enjoyed staying there! Lots of space for us and our dogs and a cute area with chairs, grill and a fireplace.

Weekend Trip to Tangerine Hideaway

I think we saw 8 different kinds of butterflies. It was so relaxing to just watch them. The site had a brand new picnic table and fire ring. There are trees all around every site so you have some privacy from neighbors. Really enjoyed our stay.

This is a beautiful location with spacious well-kept grounds and a peaceful resting place after a busy day at nearby theme parks, beach, or Kennedy Space exhibit. Acreage to walk dogs or for children; wooded area at the margins; and horses in a pasture next door. During the day there is a mild air traffic noise but not bothersome. Jim is the best host I can imagine; he is there to help us get settled and parked, and back again to wish us well as we leave. I would happily stay here again!!!

Small and quite campground, great for stargazing at night. The host was helpful and very nice to chat with. There are no showers but they to provide water hookups for those quick rinse offs. Lovely view of the lake in front of the property.

Amazing property and amazing campsites! Was perfect distance to rock springs and other springs in the area and the host was on top of everything and very friendly. Definitely recommend to anyone going to the area!

Had a wonderful stay here with the goats and chickens! By far the best outdoor bathroom & shower I’ve been to. The host is funny and generous, their property offers a surprising amount of privacy for its proximity to any shop you could need. They fit us in last minute midweek, truly a great spot to stay!

7 nights at Lakeside RV site

We loved camping on Laura’s land. So peaceful and relaxing. She showed us where to back in and hookup. After that, we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was amazing! Beautiful view of the lake. We were able to view 2 rocket launches on the site - amazing views! There was a deer family that visited us every day. We hope to go back very soon!

4 nights at Roots ReTREEt in Old Florida

We loved staying at Jay's. He was very welcoming and went out of his way to help us out. The description is exactly as listed. He has a couple of options for set up locations. His property has the feeling of being remote. However, you are only a few minutes away from grocery and some other stores and restaurants. It is a short drive to the beach or inland water way/Indian River. Jay was available and easy to get in contact with. He helped us with many questions about the area and where to go. We were even able to catch two rocket launches just from the back yard. If you want a quieter Florida experience give Jay's place a visit. Next time we are in the area or passing through, this will be our stay of choice.

Weekend Trip to Patmos Island

We loved it here. It was so peaceful and quiet. The land is beautiful and well maintained and was perfect for walking our over-excited dog. It was his first ever camping trip in our new to us travel trailer, so he was already dealing with a lot of change. Having his walks be so low key instead of being in a busy campground made it much more relaxing for all of us. The site was clean, the full hookups were in excellent working order, and there's a trash can and recycling bin right on it which was super convenient. Craig was very welcoming. We felt safe and comfortable and really enjoyed our little getaway.

This hipcamp is right off the road. Nice maintained property. The animals were great. Clean bathroom and shower! Highly recommend.

We loved camping on Tracey’s land! Beautiful big trees and the cutest animals. Tracey was always quick to reply and very helpful. Toilet and shower was just as described: porter potty and an outdoor shower that can be used for a quick rinse.

Weekend Trip to Wilderness Shores Ranch_Campground!

I stayed at the Shoreline Tent Camping area at Wilderness Shores Ranch in Lakeland, FL for the weekend. The property itself is beautiful—right on the lake with stunning views and surrounded by nature. One of the best parts was the chance to interact with the friendly animals on the ranch, including long-horned cows, goats, and horses. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. However, there were a few downsides worth noting. Trains pass by very frequently at night—about once an hour—and they’re loud enough to wake you up. On top of that, there’s an active gun range nearby that was really noisy during the day, especially on the weekend. The campsites are quite close together, so there’s not much privacy. It also looked like the sites weren’t cleaned between campers—there was leftover firewood in the pit and some general debris around. Overall, it’s a great place if you’re looking for a rustic, nature-connected experience and don’t mind the noise. Just go in knowing what to expect.

Great views of rocket launches, just a few miles from Publix, other shops and other restaurants. About a mile to the Indian River, about five miles to the Banana River (and Kelly Park for windsurfing or launching boats) about 12 miles to Port Canaveral and the beach at Jetty Park or better yet (my fav) Cherie Down Park. CDP is great for surfing, beach fishing, viewing rocket launches or just beach walking. While there please visit Port Canaveral's host of bars and restaurants. Also, about 25 miles to the Space Center. PLEASE! Best way onto property is go west on Canaveral Groves Blvd 1/2 mi. to Alan Sheppard, left and left again at 1st. street (Atlanta St.). Back the 1/2 mi. to Knoxville Ave where the trailer/camper entrance lines up directly with Atlanta St. GPS does NOT know if you are pulling a camper/trailer...LOL!

Gray Rock Cove is a beautiful 9.46 acre slice of old natural Florida. There’s room to stretch out and plenty of wildlife to see (plus some Barn Kitties who are employed as rodent control). Mostly grassy land with some old growth oaks and saw palmettos, while the back/North third of the property is a beautiful undisturbed Florida Wetlands with a small floating dock to enjoy some of the pristine scenery from. RV hookups (50a Power w/ 30a adapter, water, sewer) along a gravel RV pad, while there's also plenty of room for tent camping instead. A short drive to Mt. Dora, Eustis, Ocala, and The Villages. Easy access from the main road to reach the site. There's a 2-lane paved county road along the front of the property, with a dense greenery barrier blocking view of the road from most everywhere on the land. There is a small bathroom building with toilet, sink, and shower. No standard outlet (110v) power access other than a few outlets in the bathroom and utility room (available for phone charging if needed, but nothing high-amperage). We do have numerous water spigots sprinkled throughout the property (unfiltered well water). There's a spot for a campfire near the bathroom building and the campsite. There will be a patio table set and chairs, two plastic Adirondack Chairs near the water along with an old Jon Boat with paddles you're welcome to take out to explore the water with. It's all pretty shallow, mucky and plant filled like you'd expect a wetlands to be, but beautiful and peaceful nonetheless.

A few Campers favorite places to visit are Mount Dora Bike Trail - 2.6 miles, Kelly Park - 11 miles and Kings Landing 12 miles from farm. We offer youth day camps on various dates, pony rides and a tour of our farm animals for an additional fee. Reservations required in advance due to the other activities we have going on. In 2007, we had no idea where this adventure was going to take us. Our small urban farm was sharing our miniature animals with assisted living facilities and Neulife, where we have 3 miniature horses that live on their property. Little by little we have evolved into more of a need to share with the community and help others with the relaxing qualities our farm and animals have to offer, we want to be able to share and better educate with hands on experiences, teach kindness, patience, confidence and help others to be the best they can be. Biking, boating, sunning, fishing, paddle-boarding, kayaking, eating... all within a few minutes of your quiet retreat. Our house is on the property but it's 200 feet away behind trees/bushes. It's a 100 year old house built from the wood of a church in NSB. Lifted up on a Coquina rock wall it is quite unique. There is a large secluded area where your dogs can be run. We have dogs too but there's plenty of room to share.
