The pond is Spring-fed at the headwaters of Marsh Branch Creek which begins at our property and flows West about five miles in to Tampa Bay. Red Mombin, and thousands of banana plants. Fishing can be great, wildlife and bird watching too. Fenced and gated for safety, this old historic nursery property has good vibes and plenty to offer. Until you see it - you really may not understand. Parts of property are wide open, other areas are rugged and difficult to walk through including some wetland areas. The nursery has plenty of trees, and some fields -the large pond is surrounded by cattails and marsh/wetlands and has fish (Bass, Tilapia, Sunfish, Catfish). The campsites however primitive has some real nice extras, like cafe lights in the trees, near by bath house. A huge plus was bringing an extension cord to access electricity at a nearby cabin outlet. Also a great variety of livestock to watch for entertainment.

Weekend Trip to J and P Creekside Retreat

We really enjoyed our campsite! John was an excellent host -- checking in with us but also letting us do our own thing. We brought paddle boards and spent the entire day paddling Shell Creek and taking in the beauty of nature. The campsite was huge and very shady. It mentioned being sloped but that was really very, very tiny. We have a 13' Scamp and easily got it leveled. We will definitely return!

We love camping here, it's so peaceful and quiet. It was lovely watching Oakley and Willow their two horses from our tent, and then being able to pet them. It was unusually cold for the time of year we stayed, and the hosts offered us blankets and jackets, which we really appreciated This was our second stay here and and we will be back again in the future. .

I had a great night of camping at Taylor and Beth place. It was easy to find, quiet, and well maintained. Many big trees for shade. Electric and water hookup worked without any issue. The horses were cool. And flush toilet and hot showers always a plus! It’s about 25 minutes to the Venice dog beach which is a little drive but totally worth it according to my dogs.

Great Host! Great, private, and shady at the Hideaway. Asked for firewood took 15 min. Highly recommend all camp sites and hangin out on the creek. And post tour of the cabin is a 10+. Thank you to John his, wife and John Jr. for providing a safe, clean, and fun envoriment

I loved camping at Taylor's farm! She and her mom were very friendly and welcoming. The farm has an ideal location, close to Publix and minutes from the beach. The farm itself has access to a bathroom with shower which is convenient. The horses are gorgeous and the dogs super friendly as well. I would return without a doubt and highly recommend it to other campers!
