We purchased our property in 2017 and longed for the dream to build a home. Well, we built that home. We are now ready to share our place where we find so much tranquility with others. You can see how the old orange groves worked as we haven't filled in all the furrows yet. The old orange Grove is now home to cattle, horses, goats, ducks, and our little family.

THE PROPERTY:
The owners live on the property with their 2 children and are willing to be helpful in anyway. Children are more than welcome to tag along. Being kid friendly is a plus for us as our kids might be running around enjoying their property. Can't forget dog friendly either. Our dogs love to greet our guests.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS:
If beaches are on your agenda, South Causeway and Fort Pierce Inlet State Park are only 25 minutes from the beach! Our favorite place to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner is Carter's Grocery, which is only 4 minutes from our property.
ACTIVITIES:
We have chickens that lay eggs and are great for eating so if you'd like some fresh eggs, feel free to go over to their house and grab some. We have a Pavillion with a fire pit that is welcomed to be used. Our dock provides a look out on our pond. Please feed the fish some food if you'd like. Also, take time to fish in our pond and catch some tilapia or blue gill. The kids have a blast fishing as the fish are easy to catch.
THE SPACE:
The site you'll be staying at is close to the owners house. There are 2 parking spots on asphalt that are available for the campers vehicles or park directly at your site. The ground will be grass that the camper will park on.
Please note: we have 2 gates with gate codes that shut automatically. Please be sure each gate closes behind you! We have free roaming cattle and other farm animals outside the camping area.
We are always open to recommendations on how we can make your stay even better! We cant wait to share our property with you and hopefully you'll find our place as somewhere you'd love to return!

If you’re looking for places to visit for the day or services nearby, you can head to Okeechobee, which is only 20 min away. Lake Placid is only 40 min, Vero Beach is only 1 hr, and Melbourne is 1 hr 30 min.
All of the listed locations offer great opportunities for fishing, hunting, swimming, and beach hangouts. Each of the sites allows for watching the livestock, hanging out at the watering hole, and sitting around the communal campfire.
Our favorite things about our property are privacy, amenities, and all of the roaming mini livestock throughout the property!
Your hosts do not live onsite however, will be available to you during your visit. We are friendly and as non-invasive as we can be. We do love meeting our guests and are available for any questions that come up. Our primary purpose when developing this property was to create a safe space for children with special needs and their families. We are a no judgment zone and adhere to Hipcamp's inclusion policy.

Our property is 10 1/2 acres of mainly grasslands. At the farm we have goats pigs, donkeys, and cattle. The camp spot will be near the pigs and goats, so expect some noise in the morning and during feeding time otherwise it's pretty quiet.
At night time you could do a fire pit, we'll provide the metal fire pit. About 25 minutes east of our property we have downtown Fort Pierce with nice restaurants and the causeway where you can take a dip in the ocean and there's beaches up the road from there.

A small family owned and operated 5 acre pasture raised poultry farm. This is a working farm that sells poultry meat and eggs to the local community. If you have ever wondered what it might be like to live on a poultry farm -- this is it! Depending on the time of year there may also be bee hives located on the far back or very front of our pastures. Due to biosecurity measures you do not have full access to roam the entire farm and pastures. However, the RV spot is placed with a view of most farm activities. Our farm is home to free roaming hens, roosters, geese, quail, ducks, turkeys and pigs. We have 6 livestock guardian dogs that keep our animals safe from predators. Both the birds and the dogs do make noise, so please keep that in mind. It's all part of farm life ! It was a joy to pick eggs every morning and feed the animals,apple,carrots and scraps from left over food peals..The pig was so cute,cheezing for camera. I went on a last minute getaway and quickly found out all of the campsites in the Fort Pierce area were either full or closed. If you are a caregiver like me, I’m sure you will understand the need to get away from it all for a short time. Annie at Ashby Acres Farm to the rescue! She had excellent communication, she was friendly, caring and took the time to guide me by phone at night through the gate entrance process. The property is awesome, the horses are beautiful and all of the staff and horse riders were very friendly.

A real working Equestrian farm. My wife and I loved the amazing horse's + donkeys and miniature horses. Grounds are well maintained. The restroom (functionable) hot water shower! Everyone super friendly. All the real farm smells and sounds. We were real lucky good weather all week (4 nights). Our first Hipcamp, will do it again! Let the adventures begin! And Thank You.

When we arrived he had someone ready to show us how to get to our spot which is secluded so very peaceful change from the busy state parks. The site was clean and had great space and coverage. This region is teeming with wildlife, including white-tailed deer, turkeys, and feral hogs (which attract hunters), as well as bobcats, racoons, otters, and a few rare and endangered species of birds. Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park
To the west of Vero Beach is Kissimmee Prairie, a state park covering 54,000 acres of expansive prairies and dry grasslands. An essential part of the Everglades headwaters, this striking biome formed from a long-running cycle of flooding and wildfires. Today, it’s a unique ecosystem of dry prairies perfect for birdwatching, hiking, and cycling. Kissimmee Prairie is also known for its spectacular stargazing far from city light pollution. Check into a farmland campground or stay the night at a nearby RV park, then enjoy an unbelievable view of the Milky Way with no need for binoculars or a telescope.
When to go
As a subtropical region, Vero Beach’s temperatures are agreeable year-round. Hot, humid summer days reach into the 90s, and winter days dip only as low as 50°F in the coldest months. Summer is the rainiest time of year in Vero Beach, so campers should bring adequate rain protection when camping in the area between May and September.
