As our name suggests, we are ideally situated directly across from the picturesque Lake Helen, offering guests unparalleled access to its tranquil beauty. Our inn features three uniquely themed rooms, each designed to provide a distinctive and memorable stay. Guests are invited to explore the two sprawling acres of our property, which includes a private portion of the lake shore accessible at any time. We also offer canoes and bikes for rent, perfect for exploring the surrounding area or enjoying the lake. Our aim is for every guest to feel at home, and our dedicated staff is always on hand to provide assistance and offer recommendations for local attractions and activities. While beautiful year-round, Cabin on the Lake is especially popular in the spring, coinciding with numerous events in the surrounding area. Nestled on two acres by the shores of Lake Helen, near DeLand, Florida, Cabin on the Lake presents a distinctive two-story, log cabin-style building. Our expansive grounds feature a lush grassy lawn, inviting gardens, charming statues, and a serene fountain, all available for guests to explore. The property also boasts a deck across the street on Lake Helen, perfect for enjoying the views or hosting small gatherings. Mature trees provide ample shade during warmer months, and a large hedge ensures privacy from the main road. For outdoor enjoyment, a screened porch equipped with picnic tables and a barbeque is available for guest use throughout their stay. Our Accommodations Cabin on the Lake offers four distinct rooms, each thoughtfully designed with its own unique name and theme. Many of the paintings adorning the rooms and common areas are original works by local artists, commissioned to enhance each room's specific ambiance.

My time at Lakefront Downtown Orlando was phenomenal! The hosts Julian and Jason were extremely friendly, and the space they provide is excellent. The house was perfectly clean, and had a nice kitchen to prepare some meals and chat a bit, a chilling living room to rest, a complete mosquito-proof swimming pool... And the designated camping/RV area was quite wide, plus the lake view (or even activities!) looked great. Besides all that, and very important for me, the place is within walking distance to Camping World Stadium (where the festival I was attending was held): a very cheap ride, or a ~30 min walk. You also have a Walmart across the road, very convenient. But above all, the ambient there was in the house with other RVs' and rooms' guests was super chill and friendly --in part I'm sure because of the great vibe of our festival, but also due to what Julian, Jason, and the house transmitted!

1 night at One-of-a-Kind SKOOLIE

The skoolie was the absolute best after camping for a few days in the August Florida heat. Melinda left out some snacks, and there was a full kitchen in which we cooked dinner. The bed and the pull out were both super comfy, and nothing beat the shower!! As far as skoolies go, this is one of the best I’ve seen! Melinda was also great, even letting us do some laundry in her guest house. Everything felt very safe and cozy, would definitely stay again!

I loved spending the night at the Skoolie after a long day of driving! It was so spacious, beautifully decorated and super cozy. The fully functioning kitchen, warm shower and AC made it feel like a luxury stay. I got to meet Melinda shortly when leaving and she was super sweet. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Review Hipcamp 24.-26.5. Lisa and Derek are the best hosts, super-nice, generous, flexible and friendly. We had to push our reservation to the next day on very short notice, and they graciously accommodated that. They greeted us like friends, and treated us to super fresh fish caught by Derek the same day, and delicious eggs laid by their beautiful backyard chickens. Their yard is an oasis, a true little paradise with lush plantings, a very nice pool and inviting patio area to relax in. My personal favorite features were the wonderful outdoor shower and the little secluded seating area in the bamboo grove by "our" driveway. And, of course, the chickens ! The location is great, too, it is literally a 5 minute walk down the street to the beautiful beach, restaurants, bars and stores- the area has a lot to offer, and Lisa and Derek were happy to share their inside knowledge. We highly recommend this super- cool hip camp retreat!
