Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location.
But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future.
However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families.
As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch.
You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! Shiloh was the name of an early Florida town that was once located just down the road from our property. It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location.
But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future.
However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families.
As a tribute to those early adventurers, we have named our place Camp Shiloh. We honor the past, we respect the wild Florida that surrounds us, and we celebrate the future as we watch rocket launches from our porch.
You are welcome to stay on the property while you explore the local communities of New Smyrna and Titusville, relax at beautiful Canaveral National Seashore, attend races in Daytona, visit amusement parks in Orlando... or whatever! We had such a wonderful weekend camping at this farm in DeLand, Florida. It was exactly the kind of getaway we were hoping for.
The hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Everything was clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully set up. The bathrooms and amenities were in great shape and clearly cared for.
The farm animals were easily the highlight for our kids. They loved seeing the goats and even got to hold a baby goat with the owners, which made their weekend. They also befriended a turkey who hung around our campsite and the sweetest dog named Jacksonville. The kids even gave the turkey a nickname. Getting that kind of hands on experience with the animals made it feel really special.
The location was great as well. We spent time at Blue Springs Park and appreciated all the local recommendations the hosts shared, including other parks and the Historical Village nearby. They suggested Big Rig for breakfast, which was exactly the casual, relaxed spot we were looking for.
There were other campers on the property, but everyone was respectful and kept to themselves, so it still felt peaceful and private. One especially fun surprise was the bowling ball scavenger hunt on the property, which kept the kids entertained for quite a while.
Overall, we would absolutely recommend staying here. It was a memorable family weekend and a place we would gladly return to.

Hosts were excellent and very responsive! The site was huge and very lush with the surrounding trees. Loved the visiting chickens and the calling owls. There was an excellent bike trail just a couple of miles from here which made it perfect for a full day of biking. And then also the close proximity to New Smyrna made an excellent second day. Definitely recommend.

The land is good and the backyard is somewhat secluded. You will be within earshot of other people, but it’s a pretty good setup. It’s probably an ideal place for a cluster of campers that know each other or don’t want full privacy. My problem with the owner began when I arrived. He did not know I was coming and blamed it on his wife. I will take him at his word. He asked about hookups and I informed him that my camper only uses 110 ac and I usually only a phone charger and coffeemaker (it was cold outside so no a/c). I also made an attempt to give him information about my setup. I plug the hookup to my car (ev) and then power the camper through the car. Sometimes the battery charges a little and tops off, but I recharge on the road at Buc-ee’s. Next thing I know he’s outside my camper at night with a flashlight waking me up and accusing me of using the power as a charging station. I was pulling little power and he didn’t hassle the huge rvs next to me running tons of stuff. I patiently explained my setup again and he apologized and said that it was his mistake. I would have left it at that and given grace for a bad day, but I never saw him again. Checkout was a pain because he would not respond and he hasn’t responded to any messages from me since. I’ve given up. I guess I just don’t like being accused and hassled when I’m paying to stay in a quiet spot and I need the sleep. I’m concerned I will get blasted on reviews and I truly tried to work this out

Wonderful stay! We wish we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed the fire pit. Plenty of space for a private campsite. Outdoor shower and bathroom is a plus and clean. It was a little chilly for the pool but everything felt like home. Steve and Rachel are great host. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. Close to everything in NSB.

Very nice place to stay. Pool and tiki bar for guests to enjoy. Poolside bathroom and outdoor shower. The camping area was spacious and private. I felt safe and I was comfortable leaving our little camper when we went for daily excursions! Steve and Rachel were very friendly and accommodating. Lots to do in the area!

We were returning from a weeks trip out west skiing and we wanted to take one more day before getting back to our daily lives and we found True Trail Farm here on Hipcamp. Kathryn and Mike are great hosts, their property is wonderful, an operating Homestead. we purchased some eggs fresh off their farm, they also offer firewood for purchase, which is extremely convenient, and yes, it’s dry ready for a wonderful fire in their communal fire pit which both Kathryn and Mike took the time to sit down and have conversation with us. Their property also offers a full bathroom with hot water and a shower. We enjoyed our one evening there, which was just right to keep us from rushing back. We will be sure to choose True Trail Farm again!

We loved our stay. It's quiet and private but still close to the city. Lee is very friendly and helpful. There are horses on the property and a large space to walk and play with your dogs. Publix is around the corner and there are countless food options within a 15-20 minute drive if you don't feel like cooking.

A very nice set up.. …. location is fairly close to parks and trails and places to eat. I enjoyed Cooks which nearby and is a buffet style restaurant, been doing business since 1959… Very good food! I enjoyed all the goats, chickens and the roosters and the baby goats and the pigs. It was a very enjoyable camping experience. They have a turkey that’s very friendly and a black dog named Jackson. also he’s a very friendly little dog.

Our hosts at Shiloh were wonderful, making sure we were warm and safe during an unusual cold snap and helping us find good things to see and do during our long weekend in Oak Hill. We will unreservedly stay there again if we’re in the neighborhood. You can’t ask for friendlier folks at the end of a travel day.
