This is also where the Suwannee River gets it's tannic
color from the decaying vegetation in the swamp.

A pet friendly, off leash, dark skies 6 acre slice of paradise in North Florida on the banks of the Suwannee River. In 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water.
The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach.
We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people, because we only have 1 toilet, so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

With tubing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, boating, and fishing available within feet of the campsite, you can stay nearby or venture out to some of the best springs in the world.
Boaters – Private boat ramp is 200 yards up the road on the Santa Fe, public boat ramps within 10 miles on the Santa Fe and Suwannee rivers.
Tubers – Tube the private section of the crystal-clear Ichetucknee river accessible only by the homeowners via our 3 waterfront parks. Both get-out parks are within walking distance to the campsite for your convenience.
Paddlers – Paddle the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood, or if the time of year is right, venture up to the Ichetucknee State Park to paddle the head waters and north entrance. This is limited in season and numbers to keep the impact on the river to a minimum.
Swimmers – Swim the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood via our 9 waterfront parks (6 Santa Fe, 3 Ichetucknee) or venture to either entrance of the Ichetucknee River State Park just a few miles away.
Nature lovers – Explore the unspoiled conservation areas within the neighborhood that can be hiked and explored. Setup a hammock and sit by the river and watch all your worries wash away, you may get to see the occasional manatee.
Whatever your passion, this campsite accommodates it with electric (50/30/15), water, picnic table, concrete firepit, clothesline and plenty of room to spread out. The neighborhood is golf-cart and UTV friendly and has lots of dirt roads to explore. The deer can be found quite easily every morning and evening while riding around and rarely run away from the vehicles.

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

A pet friendly, off leash, dark skies 6 acre slice of paradise in North Florida on the banks of the Suwannee River. In 1990 the State of Florida banned logging within 1,000 feet of the Suwannee River so Southeast Timberlands sold off it's holdings and we were lucky enough to purchase 6 acres and 444 feet of riverfront. A designated "Pristine Scenic Waterway" with very steep banks, the Suwannee is one of the few"wild" rivers left in the United States and can rise over 30 feet to flood stage almost overnight; yet due to its unique topography we can access it no matter how high or low the water.
The Forest Service has bought up the surrounding lots, creating a 10 mile Conservation corridor supporting the National Scenic Florida Trail, it's clearly marked footpaths and natural attractions. To that end, we have left the old growth upland forest the way we found it. The campsite is a natural feature as is the Zen deck and canoe launch, a swale draining the ridge. The campsite is level, the lane to the river slopes gently dropping in elevation 20 feet over 1,000 in making it easy for able bodied guests to navigate their way to the white sugar sand beach.
We want to share our retreat with those who are looking for a real wilderness experience in an exclusive private setting. A Waiver of Liability is required by all guests as the Wilderness is an inherently dangerous place. We only offer one accommodation per weekend with a maximum of 8 people, because we only have 1 toilet, so our guests can have the seclusion they desire and be free to enjoy the natural wonder of the woodland experience in any manner they choose.

Otter River Hideout is located by the Ichetucknee Spring State Park (8 mins. drive, 3.6 miles). Tent camping is only allowed in addition to a RV or travel trailer as there are no bathroom facilities. The Ichetucknee River was named by a tribe of Creek Indians who came down from north Georgia and Alabama, and means "place of the beavers". This area is rich in history and beautiful nature.With over 1/3 acre of dedicated riverfront property on the Santa Fe River, you’ll have all the peace and quiet you can handle in this single spot campsite. The campsite was purpose-built for friends and family who come to visit this slice of paradise we call home. Ideally located in the heart of spring country in North Central Florida, we have over 18 major springs within a 50-mile radius of this location, which allows for all the outdoor exploration and watersports you desire. With tubing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, boating, and fishing available within feet of the campsite, you can stay nearby or venture out to some of the best springs in the world.
Boaters – Private boat ramp is 200 yards up the road on the Santa Fe, public boat ramps within 10 miles on the Santa Fe and Suwannee rivers.
Tubers – Tube the private section of the crystal-clear Ichetucknee river accessible only by the homeowners via our 3 waterfront parks. Both get-out parks are within walking distance to the campsite for your convenience.
Paddlers – Paddle the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood, or if the time of year is right, venture up to the Ichetucknee State Park to paddle the head waters and north entrance. This is limited in season and numbers to keep the impact on the river to a minimum.
Swimmers – Swim the Santa Fe or Ichetucknee rivers from within the neighborhood via our 9 waterfront parks (6 Santa Fe, 3 Ichetucknee) or venture to either entrance of the Ichetucknee River State Park just a few miles away.
Nature lovers – Explore the unspoiled conservation areas within the neighborhood that can be hiked and explored. Setup a hammock and sit by the river and watch all your worries wash away, you may get to see the occasional manatee.
Whatever your passion, this campsite accommodates it with electric (50/30/15), water, picnic table, concrete firepit, clothesline and plenty of room to spread out. The neighborhood is golf-cart and UTV friendly and has lots of dirt roads to explore. The deer can be found quite easily every morning and evening while riding around and rarely run away from the vehicles.

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. Your campsite is 1 of 4 spots (Arrowhead Sink, Dunagan’s Meadow, North Hall Pasture or Magnolia Sink). We also have a 1 bedroom Tiny home that used to be the farm office. Dunagan’s meadow is a pasture behind the old farmhouse (built in 1824), Magnolia sink and The North Hall Pasture are also on the main farm while Arrowhead Sink is on the edge of a hayfield about a mile down a dirt road. Glenn Farm is a place to come relax and experience a world that is rapidly disappearing. It is not a commercial campground.

Great overnight stop about 25 minutes from I75. Easy pull through - we have 26 feet TT. Pretty private. April greeted us shortly after we arrived and unfortunately we couldn't kayak, but fresh eggs were delish. Our stay was short, so cant comment on amenities.

Mr. Mike and his wife were supper nice people that made you feel completely welcomed. They answered all of my questions and answered very quickly. They also stayed to them selves while we stayed. So if your an introvert like me, don't get discouraged by looking at the pictures and feeling like your in someone's back yard with no privacy. Absolutely fantastic site with an awesome host! Anything you want to see, do, or need is close by with more things a short drive away. The privacy and quiet is unmatched. Great site especially if you have dogs and need space for them to explore and relax without other campers. Do not miss out on a paddle excursion through the host April. She makes it a breeze to get you right on the water to enjoy the gorgeous sights with recommendations depending on your interests. She even has fresh eggs available at the small cost of a rooster crow here and there, but it doesn’t take away from or or dominate the experience in any way since you’re already surrounded by the sounds of nature! If you’re in the area and want your own little piece of natural Florida to tuck away in after a long day exploring then this is your spot!

Nice peaceful and private primitive camping site, fire ring, picnic table, composting toilet and all the firewood you want( just bring a handsaw or small chainsaw) that is still close drive to gas stations, stores ect.
There is homes in the area and a state road that creates some noise in the weekday mornings a bit intrusive but nothing host can do about that especially with the nonstop Florida growth.
Would definitely camp there again .

We loved that it had a pole barn & concrete pad. It made the trip nice because it rained one afternoon...but having cover it didn't bother us. It is a great property. The river was really clear. There is a great dock & ladder to get in the water. ( it was a bit chilly, we didn't do that. ) But great for the summer.
Cell service isn't great, so download movies if you watch those at night.
We heard an owl at night, the stars were beautiful. Nice & quiet .... very relaxing.

We have reserved 4A River Camp multiple times during February and each time we have loved this beautiful and peaceful site! Being right on the banks of Santa Fe River is amazing! The site is spacious and private as well as being accessible to Ichetucknee Springs SP. We always enjoying canoeing, snorkeling, bicycling right from our camp.

We had the best time tent camping at Jewel’s Sink. There was a drought causing low water levels and we had overcast skies during our stay, but despite having subpar weather conditions the sink was still turquoise blue and stunning! The surrounding land the sink sits on is open and gorgeous as well. We woke up to deer in the field which was an extra treat! The owner was very kind and responsive. Already planning my next trip back!!

Loved Bowman’s and will definitely go back! Site #2 was right next to the launch so it was easy to get our kayaks in the river. The site was tucked just enough away from the rest of the property that you had some quiet without feeling completely isolated. The hosts were kind and available to help. They have wood for purchase on site which was really nice. The indoor bathroom was a great feature especially with the hot shower. They also have a microwave and coffee maker in a communal space. Ichetucknee Springs park was only a ~10 min drive away too if you want to explore outside of camp.

We had a nice stay, and all the hookups worked well. There are actually three RV sites total: two with hookups (one including sewer) and a third spacious spot near the river if you are okay boondocking. A huge bonus is that the owner does not rent the other spots to anyone else—all three are yours to enjoy during your stay! Our dogs loved having such a big grassy field to run in. Plus, it’s only a 3-minute drive into Branford for any stores or supplies you might need.

Our stay at Oak Hayvin Retreat was truly magical. The property is incredibly quiet and secluded, making it easy to feel completely immersed in nature. Vince and Haylie were so welcoming, and accommodating!.
The retreat is tucked away in a beautifully remote location, and we were fortunate to see deer, wild turkeys, and countless birds right on the property. The walking trails were peaceful and well maintained, and the thoughtfully built tree stand was such a special touch. Sitting among the trees, listening to the birds and watching wildlife pass by, was an unforgettable experience.
This trip meant so much to us and is one we will always cherish. Thank you, Vince and Haylie, for sharing your beautiful property. I would highly recommend Oak Hayvin Retreat to anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy some truly serene, peaceful time away.

Tom and Judy were amazing hosts, very kind and helpful. The property was beautiful. Our large group enjoyed exploring and spending time with cows, sheep, and donkeys (especially the kids). At night, the stars dominated the sky, like a cloak studded with sparkling diamonds. I highly recommend this property.
