Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube (seasonal), catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride on the Suwannee River Greenway. The Mystic Jungle Educational Facility is a quick 15 minutes up Hwy 129 towards Live Oak, where you can learn about their wild animals on a guided tour, but they are only open on Saturdays. Cedar Key is a quiet little town 1.5 hours away with cute shops and restaurants for a nice day trip ***(also very messed up from hurricanes last year, so no promises)***. This is a fantastic spot, easy access to the Suwannee River and to the spring at Little River. Plenty of space for two tents and a hammock. The back opens to a large tract of uninhabited woods, so it feels very private. We drifted in a canoe and paddleboard from Little River Springs to Branford, it was a great way to see the Suwannee and took under two hours (Suwannee level extremely low, 7.6 ft at Branford). There currently is no grill on the fireplace. If that's important to you, ask about it before you go

The views were great and it was nice to be within walking distance of the bathhouse (very nice and clean) but still far enough away from the cabins and other campers to really feel the seclusion. We liked it so much we stayed on our way to South Florida and then stayed here again on our way back home!

The kids loved playing in the water and having bikes to ride around. So much great wildlife and natural beauty. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel right at home.
