3 nights at Maribella's Corner

We stayed at Maribel’s for 3 nights. It’s a great place to park and explore the surrounding area. We were a few blocks from the Suwannee River. We were a few miles from Fanning Springs State Park that has a beautiful 72 degree swimming area. There are water and electrical hookups plus a dumping station for when you leave. Our hosts Maribel and Dano went out of their way to make sure we got situated.

4 nights at Bowman's Landing

This is my second time camping for 4 days at the primitive sites while recreating in the area. I've stayed at a handful of hip camp stites over the years in the area and bowman's landing is my favorite so far! Showers, bathrooms, fridge, wifi area really upgrades the camping experience. And I love being able to swim off the dock in the mornings and camping right on the river. I'll definitely be back again!

Weekend Trip to 4A River Camp

(Vague review to protect privacy.) There was an unfortunate event before we arrived. It was no one’s fault and nothing could be done to change it. Our host (Michael) communicated to us early and often. He was accommodating and polite. I also believe he was in full contact with the previous campers, as well. In the end, it was resolved smoothly and all parties were happy. I don’t think many other Hipcamp hosts would have put in that much work for something they couldn’t control and wasn’t their fault. I will absolutely return!

Great location, right on the water and walking distance from royal spring. Plus has everything you need and then some. Multiple full hook ups with massive space. Only thing I didnt like is I didnt catch ass much as I would have like but thats on me.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Sharon is an amazing host for many reasons… Always responded quickly to my messages, gave great advice and options for places to explore, provided easy to follow directions, insured the campsite was clean, stocked and ready for us when we arrived and told us to message anytime if we needed anything. The site was spacious and exactly how it was described in the listing. We enjoyed sitting around the fire, star gazing, and listening to the owls at night and song birds during the day. Got to see some deer wander through the woods nearby and walked a short ways down the road to look at the farm animals in the neighbors front yard. All in all it was a great escape to enjoy nature and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Weekend Trip to Bowman's Landing

In the process of planning another trip to the little slice of heaven. Absolutely gorgeous spot, spent all day swimming in the river. The bathroom was clean, the hosts were so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I’d check in with them when you get there- we were too excited and set up, & started swimming. They offered to drop us off at the start of the river which would’ve been very cool but it was too late in the day & we made the mistake of only booking a single night. I’d also put in Bowman’s landing into the GPS and not the listed coordinates.. that will position you across the river… Excited to come back in a few weeks!!

Weekend Trip to Cabin At Little River Springs

This campsite was great and super close to Little River Springs. Although it has a port-a-let and the Little Cabin, it still had somewhat of a primitive and private feel which was nice. We would definitely come back! We do have some info and tips for future campers. * If you’re gonna have a group of people, plan for everyone to tent camp. The Little Cabin has an AC wall unit that runs off a generator that is super loud. Too loud for everyone else in tents to sleep well. We would have left it off, but the windows to the cabin are plexi-glassed, therefore no air flow. The windows do open fully, but then you’re dealing with bugs. Luckily someone in our group had an extra tent for us. * The site is right off a road which is used often and close to a cow farm, so be prepared for some noise at night outside of the normal music of nature. This only applies to tent campers as the cabin’s generator drowns out all sound. * If you bring your pups, the Little Cabin with the AC wall unit is great for them to hang out in while you go to the springs, but be sure to go back often to check on them as the plug on the generator kept tripping. Even on Low Cool, as the host suggested. * The port-a-let gets cleaned every two weeks, so bring something like kitty litter deodorizer to help with the smell. We used mosquito coils as incense lol * PLEASE take your trash with you when you leave. The campers before us did not and the flies and smell was awful. Be considerate and take your trash.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabins. It was so beautiful being right by the water. Our hosts were so welcoming and accommodating.

6 nights at Riverfront Santa Fe/Ichetucknee

We loved this hip camp. It is very secluded with a great view of the water. It was nice to have all the hookups and roof for protection. It made setting up and tearing down very easy. We enjoyed the quiet and did a little fishing, caught a few smaller fish. We would definitely recommend. Direction and check in very easy

2 nights at Bowman's Landing

Bowman’s is a beautifully secluded campground on the Santa Fe River. Filled with many tall trees, a canoe/kayak launch, and fishing, several small cabins overlook the river. Only two sites available for RV’s. Two very well maintained bathrooms with showers. Fire pits and picnic tables at each site. Bowman’s is well situated in Fort White close to at least three natural springs. Cons include a very narrow road/bridge leading to the campground and no dump station.

1 night at 4A River Camp

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. My 8yo son didn't want to leave. It was an emergency stop for us as our truck was having issues. We never got to meet the owners but they were kind and patient as we dealt with the mechanic not meeting several deadlines. Luckily it all worked out in the end and we will definitely be back.

1 night at Royal Springs Riverfront Retreat

What a nice visit. The site was clean and peaceful. It had everything we needed. The kayak launch was convenient. Right from the start, the host was very responsive and accommodating. She also recommend some springs we could paddle to, which we really enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again.

1 night at Santa Fe River's Edge

Bruce has a great covered spot on the river. Free use of a kyak and fire pit with wood. Very picturesque float on the river. Lovely spot.

Weekend Trip to Moonlit Avenue

We had a great stay at this campsite over the weekend! The site itself was well-maintained and had the added bonus of a toilet and shower, which made things a lot more comfortable. One of the highlights was the easy access to the river — perfect for swimming during the hot afternoons. Evenings by the fire were peaceful and relaxing. One note for future campers: make sure your pets are up to date on flea and tick medication, as the area is pretty active with nature. Overall, a great spot for a weekend getaway!

3 nights at The Hatch Bend Hideaway RV Place

What a great location! The site was super clean and very level. We brought our boat and launched just down the road and left it at the dock for the weekend. Easy access to springs in both directions by boat. If you are looking for a bite on the river we tied up downtown and walked across the bike trail to burgers. Headed south if you turn down the Sante Fe there are a couple of restaurants in that direction too. Very quiet, decent service with Verizon, a place we will keep on our list for sure!

Suwannee River Rendezvous

Frank Page purchased the Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground in 2008 which included the original seven acres of the lower portion of the Rendezvous. At that time there were only a few buildings and the primitive campground area. Frank started cleaning the area and stabilizing all the buildings. In 2009 another 20 acres was purchased, which is now considered the upper area of the Rendezvous. In 2010, another seven acres were added to the property. Frank planned and constructed the Upper Rendezvous area which was completed in 2012 and added 136 RV sites as well as the dog park, barn and pigeon coop. The dog park has five sections, for both small and large dogs, with ample room to run. Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort & Campground Pool Frank began raising pigeons in 2012. The first pigeons purchased were homing pigeons, which started the Pigeon Races that are still a fun, family favorite event on Saturday afternoons. Frank also bought and started raising other pigeons, the Birmingham Roller. Birmingham Rollers are a very popular breed of domesticated pigeons that originated in Birmingham, England, where they were developed via selective breeding for their ability to do rapid backward somersaults while flying. You can often see them flying around the Upper Rendezvous in the mornings and afternoons. These pigeons are used for our weekly Pigeon Races.

The Bird Ranch

Parking is only available at the bottom of the driveway for tent campers. All tent sites are less than a 5 minute hike up the trails. There is plenty of firewood available after 3 hurricanes in a year's time. The Bird Ranch is 4 acres of peaceful nature. We have 3 pioneer sites (2 with fire pits), and one RV hook-up (30 Amp power and water) to choose from. We never really know what wildlife is wondering around or when they might pop up. Rest assure though; there are always birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, owls hooting, and we can even hear the neighboring pigs, chickens, cows, goats and dogs from time to time. I will take all that over city noise any day of the week! The Gofer Turtles are protected wildlife here, but please do not disturb ANY of the animals or their homes. We have had kids destroy a turtle's home before, so please be mindful. The property has trails, an open field for games, and plenty of day outings to do. There are 2 natural springs (Royal Springs and Little River Springs) off the Suwannee River that are each a 10-minute drive. Branford Springs and Troy Springs are within 20 minutes. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube (seasonal), catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride on the Suwannee River Greenway. The Mystic Jungle Educational Facility is a quick 15 minutes up Hwy 129 towards Live Oak, where you can learn about their wild animals on a guided tour, but they are only open on Saturdays. Cedar Key is a quiet little town 1.5 hours away with cute shops and restaurants for a nice day trip ***(also very messed up from hurricanes last year, so no promises)***. They roll up the streets after sunset; but what a beautiful sunset! There are also a few horseback riding ranches within 20 minutes from the property and if you're really adventurous and want to ride a camel; Lonesome Chicken Camel Ranch is less than an hour away. Call ahead to make sure they are open. Please be courteous of your fellow campers and my neighbors, by adhering to a 10 pm noise maintenance.
