Great open land with nice clusters of trees for cooling shade. Owner does an excellent job in providing a bin of some essentials along with a very detailed and organized binder that explains everything you need to know to ensure the best experience possible. All the rules are clear so there’s little left but to relax and enjoy the property. They provide all kinds of add ons including access to a very nice gym. Restrooms and showers were some of the nicest hip camp amenities Ive seen, all cooled by brand new air-conditioners. Cold and hot filtered bottle water is provided to refill your camp supply. We saw several gopher turtles and the bird watching was incredible with 11 different varieties in one evening. We would definitely go back and visit again.

Weekend Trip to Quail Run Ranch

A beautiful property in some piney, scrub habitat. The campsite was quiet at night and very close to Shell Mound. The view of the sky was great! The only downside were the unrelenting No-see-ums in the evening hours.

3 nights at The Hatch Bend Hideaway RV Place

What a great location! The site was super clean and very level. We brought our boat and launched just down the road and left it at the dock for the weekend. Easy access to springs in both directions by boat. If you are looking for a bite on the river we tied up downtown and walked across the bike trail to burgers. Headed south if you turn down the Sante Fe there are a couple of restaurants in that direction too. Very quiet, decent service with Verizon, a place we will keep on our list for sure!

Weekend Trip to Riverfront Santa Fe/Ichetucknee

We loved our time at Jerry’s riverfront spot! The views were amazing and it was so peaceful. We kayaked the beautiful Santa Fe and Ichetucknee rivers, saw lots of wildlife and had a great view of the stars. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Bowman's Landing

I will be back a thousand times. I have absolutely fallen in love with this place. I love it so much that I debated on even leaving review because I didn't want to give away the secret of how awesome this place is ☺️ I'm not sure if Nancy owns the place or not, but she's an amazing camp host. From the chicken employees, to the comfort station treats, she really has thought of everything possible to make your stay as carefree as possible. The beds were comfy, cabin was cutely decorated, there are grills and utensils to use for everyone and inside your cabin. It was clean. The place was easy to find, and well lit. The people that were staying there were all friendly and didn't mess with you but were available for conversation if you felt so inclined. What a complete gem. This day was exactly what we needed. Can't wait to come back.

3 nights at Bowman's Landing

Awesome campsite. We stayed in primitive site #1 and it was incredibly spacious. We have a 12-person tent so it is quite large and we could’ve have fit at least 2 more tents in the spot. It seemed to be slightly bigger than primitive site #2. It was very private as well. No electricity or water at the site, but the comfort station, bathrooms, and dish washing station are close by. The bathrooms were super clean and nice. The site does have a fire pit with a grill grate and a picnic table. The staff was super friendly. There is so much to do in the surrounding areas as well as at the campsite. We spent lots of time fishing. We dropped a fishing light off the dock and watched giant fish and softshell turtles swim around. We went to Troy Springs, Ichetucknee Springs, and O’Leno State Park. I HIGHLY suggest Ichetucknee springs. Beautiful water, not too expensive, and we even saw a manatee!! We spent hours hiking at O’Leno and barely even scratched the surface. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Caceres Organic Blueberry Farms

Camping here was so peaceful. We were the only ones around, and it was nice and quiet. Although there is a road fairly nearby, the traffic sounds more like white noise than anything. We got to tour the blueberry bushes and turmeric roots. We were right by a gorgeous basin of water nice and cold for swimming. The porta potty was clean, there was rain water for doing dishes, and drinking water closer to the house. The showers were HOT hot and never ran out, plus had a great view of the property. I recommend buying some turmeric powder from Richard, it’s the freshest turmeric I’ve ever tasted. We will be coming back to volunteer! Highly recommend.

Great place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed watching the different people and their contraptions floating down the river. Canopy is large enough for my Fithwheel with plenty of room to relax with chairs.

Weekend Trip to Glenn Farm

I don’t want to rave too much about this place because I want it to be available the next time I need it! But seriously it was the perfect one night getaway for me for a bike packing trip. Rinsing off in the spring after was perfect. The campsite was peaceful and spacious. I hammock camp and having posts already up was an unexpected benefit. I will say that with a rain fly and hammock the post do sag in a bit when getting in your hammock, so take that into consideration. This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was outstanding. Judy was super nice and made me feel right at home.

2 nights at Suwannee River Green Acres

Hasn't even been one week and we already miss the beautiful river spot at Green Acres in Branford! What a perfect place right on the Suwannee River for relaxing, fishing, swimming, bonfires, grilling, chilling out, etc! Our 2 large dogs are 12+ but we couldn't keep them out of the water, they loved getting a little swim everyday!! Maybe we'll get lucky and stay on our way home next month, lol Perfect, perfect, perfect!!! Great job Lara! Michael was not there when we camped, he had went camping yet was super responsive, informative throught site/text. I explained what we were hoping to do and his suggestions on what would work best for our family situation and he made awesome suggestions. Everything was how it was described by the host and reviews from previous campers. We were able to put 3 lg tents, sm pop-up, canopy, 3 vehs, 8.5x26ft enclosed trailer and enjoy a lg area with 7adults, 4children (1child in a wheelchair) . You are on a very level lot, w/limestone pad approx. 20x20ft next to a house on the Santa Fe River and wooded lot on the other side. We fished from shoreline and a floating dock, a tree had fell into the water right next to it. We did lose lures but were able to walk out to reclaim them. Kids swam near shore. Boat ramp a few lots down, heave boat/ jetski activity. 4x4ft enclosed bathing/restroom, very primitive but private, approx. 60ft from camparea w/3 steps to climb/latching door. A propane heated tankless water heater w/2shower heads, unable to use the overhead shower. Toilet: 5gl bucket w/plastic toiletseat/cover attached, WAG bags(containing half-cup of sand-like absorbant beads) which include extremely thin squares of toilet paper, wet wipe, and half-gl s gray ziplock to seal trash in. Sink, spigot, electric hookup firepit w/grate and access to airpump on/near site, tube retal/firewood (additional fee), access to springs.

We supply every Lucky's Market location with fresh turmeric and a host of stores with our blueberries. We also have an active u-pick program during the blueberry and peach harvests (late March to early June) that is available to Hip Campers. There are multiple springs within 30 miles in various directions - some of them of First Magnitude volume. Ichetucknee Springs offers excellent river rafting. Ginnie Springs offers world class underwater cave diving -PADI license required. The Ichetucknee River was named by a tribe of Creek Indians who came down from north Georgia and Alabama, and means "place of the beavers". The campsite was purpose-built for friends and family who come to visit this slice of paradise we call home. Ideally located in the heart of spring country in North Central Florida, we have over 18 major springs within a 50-mile radius of this location, which allows for all the outdoor exploration and watersports you desire. With tubing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, boating, and fishing available within feet of the campsite, you can stay nearby or venture out to some of the best springs in the world. Boaters – Private boat ramp is 200 yards up the road on the Santa Fe, public boat ramps within 10 miles on the Santa Fe and Suwannee rivers. Tubers – Tube the private section of the crystal-clear Ichetucknee river accessible only by the homeowners via our 3 waterfront parks. Both get-out parks are within walking distance to the campsite for your convenience. Glenn Farm

The farm you’re camping on is one of the last family farms remaining in Columbia County and is named Glenn Farm after DV Glenn who married Hettie Lou Niblack in the 1930’s. Over the last 150 years it has been farmed by some of the county’s oldest families such as the Niblack and Ellis families. When DV Glenn came to Florida from his farm in Cairo, GA he took over the portion of the Niblack farm that was inherited by his wife Hettie Lou. At that time he was running native Florida cattle on over 6000 acres. Unfortunately, In 1951 he was killed in a hunting accident leaving his wife with the farm and 4 children (ages 4-11). In order to survive, Hettie Lou Niblack Glenn was forced to sell 5000 acres at $25 an acre. Holding a bachelors degree from Florida State College for Women, she was able to secure a job at the University of Florida as a secretary and with the money from the land sale she was able to raise her four children. Of the original farm, 600 acres remain intact and the Glenn family is trying to keep the farm as an agricultural operation. The Bird Ranch

Parking is only available at the bottom of the driveway for tent campers. All tent sites are less than a 5 minute hike up the trails. There is plenty of firewood available after 3 hurricanes in a year's time. The Bird Ranch is 4 acres of peaceful nature. We have 3 pioneer sites (2 with fire pits), and one RV hook-up (30 Amp power and water) to choose from. We never really know what wildlife is wondering around or when they might pop up. Rest assure though; there are always birds singing, crickets chirping, frogs croaking, owls hooting, and we can even hear the neighboring pigs, chickens, cows, goats and dogs from time to time. I will take all that over city noise any day of the week! The Gofer Turtles are protected wildlife here, but please do not disturb ANY of the animals or their homes. We have had kids destroy a turtle's home before, so please be mindful. The property has trails, an open field for games, and plenty of day outings to do. There are 2 natural springs (Royal Springs and Little River Springs) off the Suwannee River that are each a 10-minute drive. Branford Springs and Troy Springs are within 20 minutes. You can float down the Ichetucknee River on an innertube (seasonal), catch a local rodeo just down Hwy 129 or take a 3 hour round trip bike ride on the Suwannee River Greenway. The Mystic Jungle Educational Facility is a quick 15 minutes up Hwy 129 towards Live Oak, where you can learn about their wild animals on a guided tour, but they are only open on Saturdays. Cedar Key is a quiet little town 1.5 hours away with cute shops and restaurants for a nice day trip ***(also very messed up from hurricanes last year, so no promises)***. They roll up the streets after sunset; but what a beautiful sunset! There are also a few horseback riding ranches within 20 minutes from the property and if you're really adventurous and want to ride a camel; Lonesome Chicken Camel Ranch is less than an hour away. Call ahead to make sure they are open. Please be courteous of your fellow campers and my neighbors, by adhering to a 10 pm noise maintenance.
