The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. All wood ash and charcoal are used in our biochar-making process to help transform the soil for our agroforestry project. Please read the RULES carefully. Our gate is lighted with 24/7 camera surveillance watching the street, gate, and our house/shed. We only rent to one group at a time with a preference to small groups. We are busy with culinary and sustainable side projects for the community.
This is a working agricultural site and not the place for small children to be wandering around discovering the world. Respect for the ecology is paramount as you may be camping next to restoration projects where we endeavor to encourage edible flora to grow.
*We also have a ban on alcohol. Alcohol consumption is not permitted. You will be made to leave if you exhibit irrational or irresponsible behavior.
The property has many faces through the season and has abundant wildlife. Please be prepared to deal with anything from deer outside your tent, to mosquitoes, ticks and mites. Mosquito netting, natural bug repellent, anti-itch cream, boots, and appropriate clothing are advised. You can go clothing-free and barefoot around without causing a stir, but that is at your own discretion. We are in rattlesnake country, so please mind your footing.
The gardens are not tropical year-round. The camps may be more tropical in summer, but also have more bugs.

This location is close to the head springs and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park where you can discover the wild side of Florida with endangered Florida panther, red wolf, manatee and whooping crane, plus black bear, bobcat and, of course, alligator.
The site is located 150 ft from the dock on our private residential property at the head of the springs, the dock is not visible from the site you do have to walk down to the dock area. This is a residential area and is very quiet. You can see the layout of the property in the photos from an aerial view as well as other photos of the setup.
This listing is for the SITE ONLY. Setup your own RV under the shade then enjoy our shared dock with direct access into the Homosassa springs for a refreshing dip or paddle. We provide full hookups (water, sewer, 50amp electric) for your RV as well as WIFI service and access to the docks for your boat or swimming. We have kayaks and paddleboards INCLUDED with our site or bring your own to paddle the springs and take a chance at seeing a manatee up close and personal or catching some fish. We love to share our space with like minded outdoorsy people who respect nature and like to relax in the outdoors. This is not a party place, loud music or late nights aren't acceptable.

Springs adventure central with clothing-optional forest camp. We are a 15-acre homestead focused on sustainability hosting 'leave no trace camping.' We request respectful eco-friendly guests and have restrictions against using accelerants to start fires. All wood ash and charcoal are used in our biochar-making process to help transform the soil for our agroforestry project. We are in a prime location for campers interested in spring adventures, with many springs within 20-35 mins and many more within 60 minutes' drive, and only 35 to Gainesville.
We host dog boarding with Rover app, which means your pet is welcome when booked on the app at a special discounted rate to Hip Campers. Need to leave but can't take your pet? We can give walks and meals as well as crate or kennel them until your return to camp.
Please read the RULES carefully. Our gate is lighted with 24/7 camera surveillance watching the street, gate, and our house/shed. We only rent to one group at a time with a preference to small groups. We are busy with culinary and sustainable side projects for the community.
This is a working agricultural site and not the place for small children to be wandering around discovering the world. Respect for the ecology is paramount as you may be camping next to restoration projects where we endeavor to encourage edible flora to grow.
*We also have a ban on alcohol. Alcohol consumption is not permitted. You will be made to leave if you exhibit irrational or irresponsible behavior.
The property has many faces through the season and has abundant wildlife. Please be prepared to deal with anything from deer outside your tent, to mosquitoes, ticks and mites. Mosquito netting, natural bug repellent, anti-itch cream, boots, and appropriate clothing are advised. You can go clothing-free and barefoot around without causing a stir, but that is at your own discretion. We are in rattlesnake country, so please mind your footing.
The gardens are not tropical year-round. The camps may be more tropical in summer, but also have more bugs.
We swim, dive, and paddle year-round on our waterways. When you stay with us, we always know where to go, where is clear, and where is brown. Culinary River Junkies Within.

Very nice setup. Close to the springs, restaurants and shopping if needed. Dock area is very nice. Comfy chairs and a table. The water is crystal clear so you can see all of the varieties of fish. Didn’t see any manatees at this spot as the weather is warming up. Kayaks and paddle boards are available and in good shape. The site itself is large with a nice table setup, solo fireplace and hookups. Site is level which is nice. Only met Alonda once as we pulled in but we had no issues so there was no need to bother her. The resident dog Jazzie, was friendly with my dog and she was very sweet. Excellent experience overall.

Love Homosassa! This was perfect for the 4 nights we were there. Very quiet and could walk around feeling safe. It was quite chilly, so didn’t get to kayak or bike, but they were available to use. Love all the restaurants close by. Twice to The Freezer for the shrimp. We would come back.

We had such a wonderful time at Kate’s campsite. Highlights: easy to find. Shore power was easy to hook up too. Fire wood available for a small fee. It felt private. The springs were absolutely amazing. We saw manatees ❤️. Please note they do not have a bathroom. We were camping in a small van, and used a portable toilet set up. The space was private enough that we felt comfortable using it outside the van and without a tent. I really hope we get to return to Kate’s space.

The, area was very quiet. We really enjoyed it. Felt very much like the Florida that you don’t see when you’re a tourist. Large trees, hanging moss lots of foliage. The lot was level, had everything for hookups. Remember to bring your 50 to 30 amp reducer. The water was clear, we used the kayak and went for a beautiful day on the water.

We had an amazing weekend at this Hipcamp. Kate was the absolute best—super communicative and helpful from start to finish. The site was exactly as expected: private, jungle-like, and a great place to unwind. We had fun exploring the property and finding Pepper Trail, which was a nice bonus.
The highlight of the trip was kayaking with the manatees—an unforgettable experience.
One note for RVers: if your rig (or Travel Trailer) is longer than 25 feet, you may need to back in from the road. Our truck couldn’t quite make the turn, but backing in was easy and not an issue at all.
Overall, a fantastic stay. We’d absolutely come back again.

The camp is in a quiet riverside community that was wonderful for a relaxing week near Old Town. We enjoyed taking our dogs for walks around the neighborhood. This was an excellent location to visit Manatee Spring and Fanning Springs State Parks.
The site was level with full hookups and was easy to back into. I’d be happy to stay again in the future.

Mike’s spot on the eastern end of the canal was just perfect for us. We took our kayaks out and saw monkeys, an otter, and a dolphin out in the Homosassa River! Good places to walk the dogs and great seafood nearby. We loved sitting by the canal to catch the sunset. We hardly saw any other people But that may be because it was COLD while we were there in the middle of January. The wind chimes made the vibe super chill. We hope to be back sometime. Note that travel trailers over ~20 ft will fit but your towing vehicle may stick out into the road. There seems to be plenty of space to park your vehicle to the side but check with the host, he is good to communicate. Thanks for a memorable stay!
