Really peaceful stay. Hosts were warm and helpful. Space is cute. Enjoyed farm fresh eggs and watching the chickens and rooster around the property We will definitely choose this Hipcamp site if we are in the Fort Myers area again. 10/10 recommend!

We really enjoyed our campsite! John was an excellent host -- checking in with us but also letting us do our own thing. We brought paddle boards and spent the entire day paddling Shell Creek and taking in the beauty of nature. The campsite was huge and very shady. It mentioned being sloped but that was really very, very tiny. We have a 13' Scamp and easily got it leveled. We will definitely return!

Weekend Trip to Silver Bullet Stables

Norman was a fantastic host! Everyone on the farm was super friendly and welcoming — we genuinely enjoyed every part of our stay, and we’re already planning to come back. Even the mosquitoes were friendly (no bites at all 😄). The setup was beautiful — fire pit, grill, and what felt like an unlimited supply of firewood. The animals made the experience unforgettable: horses, donkeys, cows, and chickens. Feeding Pumpkin and Dirty Girl (the horses) while Izzy was mooing for attention because she was jealous? Absolutely priceless 😂🥰 The lounge area with Wi-Fi access, plus a bathroom with a sink and shower, made camping feel like hotel-level comfort. Our spot was tucked away and peaceful — it felt like we had our own little hideaway in the world, even just for a short time. Thank you for such an amazing experience! We’ll definitely be back.

Great Host! Great, private, and shady at the Hideaway. Asked for firewood took 15 min. Highly recommend all camp sites and hangin out on the creek. And post tour of the cabin is a 10+. Thank you to John his, wife and John Jr. for providing a safe, clean, and fun envoriment

1 night at Peaceful Pines

It’s in the name: definitely a peaceful stay! I stayed here on a halfway stop to the Keys from the north Tampa area. The property is in a rural community outside of Ft. Myers, so very little road noise to be heard. Quiet and spacious. The site is packed gravel and level. It had rained, quite a bit, the morning before I arrived but there was no standing water, good drainage. The road in is a grated limerock dirt road. A few dips but nothing too concerning. Nicole was quick to provide info prior to arrival and offered fresh eggs from her hens. The site has no shade until the setting sun around 4:30pm so be prepared with a canopy if outside before that time. I only needed to use the 30amp connection but the site also had water and sewage connections that appeared well maintained. This is a great stop if headed south to the Keys and you’re looking to break up that long drive!

We had a wonderful stay at The Hideaway! The campsite was exactly as described—well-maintained, spacious, and private, with beautiful creek frontage (though access to the water was limited due to brush). It was conveniently located near the shower, bathroom, and public areas, which made things easy. John was a fantastic host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. He had everything ready for us, including kayak rentals and even a lovely sunset pontoon cruise on the scenic creek. The site comfortably fit our three small tents and vehicles, with extra amenities like a picnic table, chairs, a hammock, and even a power cord—wish I had brought a hot pot! Some of my friends noticed light road noise since the site is near the entrance, but it didn’t bother me. We were part of a larger birthday celebration and may have been a bit loud at times, but John remained gracious and accommodating throughout. Everyone was especially excited that dogs were welcome—J and P’s pups were the sweetest! Morning coffee by the river while birdwatching was a personal highlight. I’d absolutely recommend this spot and hope we get the chance to return (hopefully a little quieter next time!). Thank you for hosting us!
