It was populated by hardy, adventurous folks who made a way for themselves and their families by clearing a spot along the lagoon, building a home and forging a life in a new location. But Shiloh is now lost, literally removed from the maps. It no longer exists. When NASA needed a perimeter zone for the newly emerging space program in the 1950s, the federal government purchased large swaths of land between Oak Hill and Titusville, FL. Residents were bought out and forced to move. Houses were relocated or demolished. Shiloh disappeared into history while the space-age pushed forward into the future. However... some foundations still can be found in the woods not far away, if you know where to look. There are even cemeteries that remain, whispering the names of individuals and families. Weekend Trip to Picturesque Mango Tango Estate

Nice, quiet, secluded level spot around the house with sewer, electric and city water hookup, surrounded by lots of vegetation. Beautiful, screened in pool/outdoor kitchen area shared with 1 other site and an AirBnB. Host was very friendly and accommodating. So was the chicken that roamed freely.

We had a great time camping with our tent in a last minute reservation. The site was private, spacious, and wooded. The outdoor shower had hot water and was really well done. The communication was great from the moment I made the reservation! Great location, under 15 minutes to Mt. Dora and King’s Landing.

Weekend Trip to Camp Wild Fern

Very beautiful, large camp spot. Lots of oak trees and ferns of course. Ragan was very friendly and gave us privacy. The site is close to the house just an FYI, but we had no issues with that. They provided a fire pit, nice bench seating and a picnic table. Bathroom was very clean and potable water nearby too.

The site was exactly what we were looking for. A nice level spot that felt private and open space for our dog to run. The hosts were kind and helpful. Access to the bathroom and pool area is an amazing bonus when you’re camping. Wood was available for a fire. We will definitely be back if we are in the area again.

My husband, pup, and I spent 2 nights at Louise’s beautiful small hobby farm with goats and chickens. We were greeted by Louise and Michelle upon arrival, who made us feel very welcome, helped us hook up, and explained everything about the property. Location and surroundings are very quiet, peaceful, and safe, just minutes from The Village, shopping, and restaurants. Easy to access, drive through, and convenient hookup for power and water. Outdoor shower with plenty of hot water was much appreciated, as well of the fresh laid eggs, and WiFi. Louise also offered for us to do laundry. We will definitely return and are already planning our next visit.

Weekend Trip to Camp Wild Fern

From the magical Spanish moss covered trees, to the clucking chickens. Everything about this secluded paradise is amazing. Very private and tucked away. My daughter and I spent 2 nights here and had an amazing time. Plenty of room for camping activities and parking right at the camp site is a life saver. Pictures don't do this property justice. You could sit for hours watching owls and birds of all types. Sunrays glimming threw the massive trees is breathtaking. Plenty of shade all day! Will definitely try to make another trip soon.

Great hosts! Very friendly. Awesome location, you can get to the local springs in 15-20 min. (Know before you go to the springs though, the parks all have their own idiosyncrasies) Otherwise, the yurt was comfy for two people. Had a comfy queen sized mattress. The fire out with the Adirondack chairs was awesome at night, great view of the stars. It was a little cool (lows in the 50’s at night) for me, but they provided power to plug into so I was super comfy!

Very peaceful at night after the activity calms Awesome view of the stars. Fire pit and charcoal grill. Firewood available for a small fee. Chairs for sitting and talking or quietly relaxing. During the day you can relax and read or interact with the goats, the donkey, the chickens and best of all the little pig. Eggs and Goat milk soap of all different scents to choose from. Eggs also for a small fee for cooking. Best of all my little dog was free off leash. You must keep them under control though. No chasing the other animals. Their dog and mine got along pretty good after they got to know each other. It was like camping out on a little farm. Canopys of Old Oak trees, large enough to go off to the less active areas or closer to the animals and friendly environment. The hosts are so wonderful. One of the best HipCamp's I've stayed at. We loved it!!!

Very kind and helpful. Accommodating. Pretty. Felt private. Didn't realize there was going to be a rooster at 3am but I get that a rooster crows when it wants to. Just went in the car to finish sleeping. No problem. Otherwise the wifi was great as I needed to homeschool with my kiddo and I we watched a movie 9 computer last night without any glitches.
